Total scam.  You can't be arrested for ordinary civil debt.  Nobody but a judge can issue a warrant and they are only issued to duly constituted law enforcement agencies, NOT DEBT COLLECTORS!   If there is a valid debt tell them to send you a written statement of the debt by US mail.  Police do not get involved in ordinary civil debt cases.

Debt collectors cannot issue warrants and cannot arrest anyone.  

They can file a civil case against you,if they have a case.  But you would have to be notified by service of process in hand and have a chance to defend yourself.  

Most cases involving small amounts are handled by small claims courts where you can represent yourself.  

Stupid debt collectors like to bandy about terms like warrant and arrest, basically to frighten debtors.  You can't be arrested for ordinary civil debt in the US.  We don't have debtors prisons.

I also did get those calls toward to my dad from a old loan place says to pay up or else will take me to court to make me pay 900 in that day then next day again called my dad n says they will send out warrant in my name if I don't pay up so is it scam for sure because I don't want to risk drive around and pull over by cops to find that warrant comes true cuz it pisses me off cuz it causes my parents worried bout me for those so how am I suppose to know if it's real??

have received 4 calls from these people within 10 minutes.  They will not identified who they are, what the debt is or anything.  Just keep threatening me with being picked up and arrested.  One of the callers was Tina Smith, who said I would be escorted off the premises.  She called 3 times.  The other caller was Steve McNeir, who said he was a private investigator and that I would be arrested immediately.

said they had a warrant out for my arrest and that she was a process server .

Your callers are scammers.  Regardless of whether you wrote a check six years ago that didn't clear the bank, you should NEVER pay any caller who refuses to MAIL a debt validation letter showing that you owe the debt and that they have the legal right to collect said debt.  Refusal to mail this documentation is a violation of the FDCPA and you should not pay them.  

If you really did have a warrant out for your arrest, the cops would just show up.  Please do report your callers to the FTC, FBI and your state's Attorney General.  You can call your local police department also to alert them.  Tell your callers you know they're scammers and you've reported them to the FBI.  Advise them you're recording all calls they make to you so your own attorney can file a lawsuit against them for multiple violations of the FDCPA.

The same Mrs.Smith called me saying they have a warrant out for my arrest if I dnt pay them 600 hundred dollars for a check I wrote six years ago.When I tell u they keep on calling n calling.

They asked for me "I then said hello can I help you?and then said "are you related to Santos something or other"...I said NO and now the a***oles keep calling..looking for me and him!" 972-382-6820

Called saying my relative needed to reache immediately. Said the caller pulled a background check an I came up. She was supposedly working on a Case with my aunt. My aunt had no clue of who she was.

Ms. Smith called saying they were a fire department looking for a relative in Conroe, TX. and it was extremely important they get ahold of her.

Seems like each July I get calls from debt collection agencies for a relative.
