Got the call this evening around 6 PM.  I did not answer but then tried the number back.  The recording said it was not a working number.  From the earlier comments this has to be a scam.

This is defenitly a scam. The heavy accent woman started with the same spill I read on the posts and I asked her for info on th website were I could locate the information from the airline and she came up with I have only been working here for 2 days. Bunch of BS since I see she told someone else the same thing 30 days ago. I told her to remove my number and that I did not allow sales calls on my cell phone. 1 minute later I got a call from a man and I advised him that they better remove my number and that I am aware they are scammers. DONT Fall for this tricks.

Looked into the number a bit more. The number corresponds to a woman named Faisa Gassim in Grand Prairie. Considering the sex of the caller, her accent, and her area code, this could possibly be the same person. Any way to report this?

Got a phone call today at about 8:00 pm from this number. The woman sounded like she was Indian or other Southeast Asian due to her accent. First red flag: "This is not a sales call, we just want you to take advantage of this wonderful offer." "We're not asking for any financial commitment from you." I let her talk for a bit (same as most people here, she said she was from Southwest Airlines), and I asked "Is there anywhere where I could look up information about your promotion online? Because what you're describing sounds too good to be true." She said "To be honest, this is only my second day on the job, and I would like to transfer you to my manager so he can tell you more about it." I said sure. About two seconds later, a man with good English started talking to me. I hung up. They immediately called back. I didn't answer.

Obviously, considering there's posts on here from May, she was lying about the "second day on the job" thing, and obviously she's not working alone. Has anyone contacted Southwest about this?

The woman claimed she is not selling anything but that I've been selected to attend a VIP something to promote their company in California and the number said Dallas, Texas

Got a call myself, claiming to be from Southwest.  When they said the prize was for couples, and demanded to know who I was going with, I started laughing.  When asked why I was laughing, I said because I didn't know how much of the call was real, and how much was a joke.  She hung up.  :)  I'm quite tempted to call her back asking about my prize :)

I just got a call from this number (972-401-2369), and the woman I spoke with said that my phone number was selected to win some prize, or something.  She was difficult for me to understand, and she would not specify how she had gotten my number.  If I understood correctly, it was an American Airlines promotion, or something, but I haven't flown on American Airlines in the last long while, and I didn't enter myself into any drawing or sweepstakes with them.  I'm not saying this call *wasn't* legitimate, but I'm skeptical enough -- and there were enough red flags ("You're wondering what the catch is, right?", "We're not trying to sell you anything," and "Sounds too good to be true, right?") -- that I didn't stick around on the call to make sure.  I told her, that I hadn't entered any drawing, and I wasn't interested.
