Yes this is a scam. Unfortunately I didn't do my due diligence like I normally I would and they received to payments from me, that I am currently trying to get back. A Miss. Colon contacted me too. and she works with a Miss. Carter. the numbers have changed. They no longer use this number as of now. They contacted me again recently trying to get more payments. They said that they merged with a new company and they are now called Second Chance and Miss. Colon working in the financial processing department. The numbers that they are now calling from are 1-800-478-5809 and 630-692-3000. Extension 228 will get you connected to Miss. Colon. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE MONEY!!!

This caller is clearly a scam.  Debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter.  They can't suspend your license.  They can't take money out of your check without first getting a judgement against you in civil court.  After that there are separate proceeding in court to garnish your wages.  Finally, the fact they called on Christmas day should also convince you it is a scam.

What they are trying to do is scare people into pay debts (they normally don't even owe).  Threats of wage garnishment, license suspension, and even arrest are used just to intimidate you into pay money --- simple extortion.

Called on xmas day telling me to call and speack . Miss colon  that I owe moeny and they going to take I out of my check and suspen my driver liensise

I got a call from 1-972-243-7914  saying I own on a payday loan that I payed last year at this time I never got a receipt after I payed the set amount last year witch is the same amount 1-972-243-7914 is asking for they never said their name this time .They also said they called and talked with me a number of times this was the first time.  

Received call from saying we owe for payday loan,but did not give the company name and would not send original paperwork.  They threaten to call my husbands employer to garnish wages. Why are people so mean in tough times.

These people are scam artist. They will try everything to get money from you for a loan that they say is in your name and using your social. They will threaten you with legal action and will even call your employer. DO NOT respond to them but call your local law enforcement agent and let them know of such a phone call.
