Instead of 972-555-1212 I was called by the similar number 281-555-1212.  No one said anything when I answered the phone.  So, I just now called the number back and the lady said that they are indeed Directory Assistance and that they can not call out from their phone number.  So, she feels someone must be using their number, but it is not the real number of the caller.  She told me I will be charged $1.99 for calling Directory Assistance.  Could they actually be doing this to get $1.99 from my calling them back???

Bizarre that most here say it was some collection company except one. It was some Foundation Company. Told the witch she was in violation of DO NOT CALL, she said it didn't apply to them. That pissed me off so I cursed the t**t out! Call the number back and is Verizon 411 information. ID just says Texas. Sick of these telemarketing company's using back doors to solicit

Odd no one stated a Foundation Repair Company cause that is what the witch was pushing. Call the  number back and it is Verizon nation wide 411 service. Told her we were on the DO NOT CALL list and she that doesn't apply to us. YES IT DOES, TELEMARKETER!

Some lady asking about my house's foundation, do we have cracks in the walls as they are surveying the neighbourhood, blah blah blah... Mis-pronounced my last name. I tried to ward off any sales call and went to say it's nobody's business but mine and I won't take any sales calls -- to which she said she'd remove me from her list blah blah blah.

If this does actually belong to a collection agency then I figure it's because Bruce Triska is attempting to collect on co-pays I either already paid in cash or refuse to pay because he did not show up for the scheduled appointment, much less bother to call me back. If so.... Game on, Buddy. I can this throat allll day long.

Called me and said "you have been picked for a conference" then hung up.  No idea how they got my number but pretty pissed that they woke up the baby.  It is unbelievable these companies go unchecked.

Received a call from these people referencing a case #. Returned call, woman asked for last 4 of my SSN. I asked what this was about, she said she couldn't tell me until I verified SSN. I asked why would I do that if I don't know what this is about? She got really hostile and told me we didn't need to be having this conversation... I said have a nice day. This seems like a scam. I do not have any outstanding debt.

REPO COMPANY!!! who say they're invesigators.  Do not let them scare you with legal crap!  Only the finance company can do legal harm to you not them...and trust me most banks will not take legal action because it would cost them more money.  Believe me, I've heard it all from these repo people...I lost my job and didn't make payments for 9 mos. then caught up and they tried every threat but none worked.  The bank told me they never told the repo people about future legal actions.  Just google your legal rights against repo guys.  It is not illegal to park your car in your garage to prevent them from taking it till you get caught up in payments.

I got one of these phone calls on my cell phone and then had a message left on my home phone voice mail from "Investigator Marquez" regarding case number XXXXXX and I needed to return her phone call as soon as possible.  My caller ID picked up the number called from as 972-555-1212, which it turns out is the directory assistance operator for Texas.  I haven't called back yet but I am planning on calling tomorrow and having some fun.

Detective Asorga (sp?)looking for someone.  I need to have contact information for these people.  Where are they at, what is a real phone number, I desparately need something!

Yes it is true that this number is directory assistance but it was more than likely they just connected the call for global to get someone to answer the phone.Now as far as the repo part its half true. Global hires investigators because the finance company has already tried to voluntarily resolve the issue. And for the guy whos car has ben parked in the garage for 9 months I wouldnt brag about gettin a free ride for that long. Its called a replevin when they come tell you to open the door so the repo man can get the car back. Notice I said the car not your car because you dont own it. And though it was a nice free ride replevins do take some time as does anything legal and there is a process to follow. So on judgement day when your served remember after the bank called for months so did global trying to resolve this on better terms. But by then they have all the documentation. They called they came by and you thought this was a waste of time, but they knew it would win their case. So when the judgement says you have to pay for a car you no longer have remember those 9 wonderful months you had with no car payment. Because mine is paid and I can park anywhere.

just received a call from some woman wanting to know if a natasha lived next door, and when i said i dont know who lives next door, she started asking if there was a honda civic parked there, and when i said 'i don't know?' she got mad at me and the person she was looking for changed from 'natasha' to 'diane'. rude about it all too.

I got a call from a a Texas number..dialed it back and they weren't taking calls. Listened to my messages and called back the 1 877 410 4517 x225 and still havent gotten any call back. They don't connect you to someone to talk to.. wtf is these peoples deal..can we say harrassment!!!!!

They called me THREE times in THREE minutes without leaving any messages.

FYI - Global is not a collections company, it is licensed private investigations firm and the 972-555-1212 is for security reasons, not for hiding.  If you are being contacted by this company, it is because either you or someone you may know has a case pending against them.  You think you know it all when in fact, you know nothing so get the facts straight!

(972) 555-1212 called looking for my sister.  They said they were a private investigator, I did not give them any information.  I looked up the number on the internet and came to this website.  If this is a repo company - I have no idea why they would look for my sister!  She doesn't own anything.  She has been homeless and in and out of jail!  No one in my family even knows where she is now.  There is car that her husband owns, that they don't pay on, but when I called back they said they didn't have any of their names on file???  I told them even if I did have a clue where they were they could kiss my a**.  What could this be about?

I just rec'd a call from 972-555-1212. The lady called asking where I lived for someone to bring some papers so I can sign. She didn't tell me her name, the company or anything. She ask when is a best time to come. That was it.

Had a phone call about 4 weeks ago asking me questions concerning my neighbor...They asked me if I knew a certain person and what their phone number was...When I asked why they called me they told me it was because they knew I was their neighbor...I asked how they got my number they said it was because when they did a trace on my neighborhood it showed I was their neighbor...I gave them no details.....I told them I didn't want to get involved...
Today 9/30/09 they called again and I told them not to call me again..I didn't want to know anything concerning my neighbors, it was none of my business and it seemed illegal that they can call me asking and snooping on my neighbors..They told me it wasn't illegal...I told them my neighbors were of no concern to me...and not to call again...
