I have been getting calls from this number every day. I don't answer and they don't leave a message. Annoying.

EVERY DAY we receive calls from this number. Morning, afternoon & evening. No messages are left. Heard a beep once when we answered as if they were recording the call and I immediately hung up.

Called it back .... Countrywide Mortgage... Marketing Dept.

This is CountryWide as if they do not have enough problems as ist is and now they are calling everyone and just causing more problems  - they must have a real desperate marketing department not to mention it is not working except for annoying the American Public.

Caller asked for "My name" or "My wife's name" "My last name". I told him he should google the number he called from and see what people were saying about it....wonder if he will?

Called at 9:00pm on Friday night of Labor Day weekend.  Did not answer and they left no message.

Call today from 972-608-2138 "Countrywide Homes"-They did not leave a message.  We have an account with them and pay our bill regularly, yet we are bothered with these marketing calls all the time. Countrywide, if you read this, NO ONE WANTS TO RECEIVE THESE CALLS FROM YOU!!!

Called by 972-608-2138. They hang-up before I can answer on the second ring and do not leave voicemail. Weird. What are they doing; making calls to fulfill some regulatory commitment for all the crooked loans they wrote? Just buy down the interest rates and shut up!

1st Call around 4 pm, I answered and could tell it was a marketer as there was a click when I picked up, so I just hung up.
2nd call around 7:45 did not answer and no message

I called back and they seem to be a tad confused.   Eventually I talk to someone who knew who I was.   I guess its a marketing spiel, because they wanted to make an appointment for me to come in.  The guy claims I qualify to be a "premiere account holder" since I have a mortgage with the,.

WE ARE TIRED OF GETTING HANG UP CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER.  WE DO NOT WANT TO TALK TO COUNTRYWIDE FOR ANY MARKETING DEALS.  PLEASE MAKE THEM STOP CALLING.

I've received calls from this number twice on Nov. 24, once two days ago and again today. The caller ID said Texas 1-972-608-2138.  Today, I didn't answer, but a message was left (previous calls, no messages).  The message sounded like the person was in an airport - lots of sounds/noise, a P.A. system in the background, but nothing was spoken by the person calling.  This went on for about 10 seconds and then diconnected.

The automated calls from this number were coming up several times a day.

It's extremely easy to be removed from the list, though. Call the number back. You will have the option of receiving a "free consultation" from Countrywide (Press 1) or talking to someone in customer service (Press 2).

I pressed 2 and was told my name and number would be immediately taken off their calling list. The customer service rep acted as if she takes these calls all day. There was no hassle.

She said that as a matter of policy she has to say that it could take up to 30 days for all calls to stop but typically the calls end much sooner.

I just called this number back because they've been irritating me too and pressed number 1.  I asked to be taken off their marketing lists and she immediately did so by asking for my number and telling me it would take a maximum of 30 days for all calls to stop, but they will decrease immediately.  She was very kind and to the point.  Easy sheezy.

Repeated calls.  Annoying!!

This is in fact Countrywide Mortage (or an agent).  They are trying to get you to refinance or take out a home equity loan.  I am on the do not call list but Countrywide services our mortgage so I think they can get around that.  I believe legitimate but annoying nonetheless.

Auto dialers machines work by when you answer and say "hello" a couple of times and then if there is an open telemarketer the call will be answered by them compleating the call the machine made to you.
Most telemarketers use the machines to do the calling so the telemarketer only have to talk with out doing the dialing also.

I've been receiving calls for several weeks as well - some after "core business hours".  Perhaps a scam.

Receiving calls from this number all times of the day.  Anytime from 8 a.m. to 8:55 p.m.  We do not answer the calls, but they have been very persistent for weeks now.  If anyone knows of a way to get it to stop please post.

Is there someway that this person can get into my accounts, etc or using my number for longdistance calling.. I will check my bill closly

I have done some checking and it seems to be that this is somebody or some company Countrywide works with.  I think they are rediculous in the consistent calling - not stopping until you speak with them.  If you are not a customer of Countrywide and you have added your number to the do not call registry, I suggest filing a complaint.  There is nothing in it for you but they can get fined.  If you are a customer of Countrywide I am told that you have to ask them to take you off their solicitation list.  Some useful information on the do not call requirements can be found at:  http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/donotcall/

I keep receiving calls from this number.  Caller Id is Hom C.   I never answer but it's everyday at a different hours for about 2 weeks now.  I am reporting this to Countrywide and my phone company as well as the DO NOT CALL registry.

I've been receiving calls from this number (several per day) for about a week now, too.  I don't answer as it just shows the number and Plano, TX on the caller ID and I don't know anyone there.  I figured I'd return the call if they left a message, but they never do.  I'd think if it really is Countrywide, they'd leave a message about the nature of the call, so I'm inclined to think it's some sort of scam.

For the last 4 nights in a row, as recently as 10 minutes ago, I have received a hang up call from this number between 8:30 PM and 9:00 PM MST.

I have been receiving these calls for several days now. No message is left.
They call several times a day.
