My husband has gotten several calls from this number, and 972-655-5213, in the last week or so on his cell phone.  We answered one time and it was a recorded voice offering a new credit account with an unspecified bank (I assume now from this thread that it was Citigroup).  The calls have continued to come at various hours and only one message has been left (a recording that was not designed for voice mail).

Citibank takes care of billing for many commercial accounts.  They bill for Staples (office supplies) Exxon Mobil (gas card) Shell (gas card) and a lot of Department Stores that issue credit cards.  So, if you get a call from this number, 972-655-5214, it is not necessarily for the citi credit card itself, but could be for one of the other companies that they do the billing for.  I just got a call about my Staples charge account that is 6 days late.

Call every morning back to back, never leave messages, call back and recording informing to hold to be transfered to a agent. Had a account with them got behind and was being racked by there crazy late fees, talked to an attorney in reguards to there tactics and there are things you can do,

received a call from this number, they called twice, no message

Keep getting very early AM phone calls (7:17 AM) with no message left. Now had 2 or 3 similar in past week. Irritating!

I received numerous calls from this number (as early as 6am) and called back. I explained I am not nor have I ever been an account holder. Neither is anyone else in this house. The man took my phone number and said he would enter it into the computer to not call. He said it would take up to 48 hours for it to be in the system and I may still receive calls until then. They did stop for nearly 2 weeks. They have started again this week along with calls from (972)653-1000 (which I've been getting for a month). Both numbers are showing to be from Irving, TX and both are part of Citigroup collections dept. for various credit cards and loan payments. In this instance it was for a Shell card. It is a legit collections call, but maybe it is being spoofed for scamming/phishing. Be weary of giving personal info over the phone. If they are legit, then they would already have the info for you to verify (last 4 digits etc.) or give you a call back number to call them to provide it.

This is citi bank (exxon/Mobile)

Kept saying that it was a personal business matter.
