This is a scam to get your social security number.  DON'T FALL FOR IT,!

Called dating somebody ordered a phone under my plan and they wanted to confirm shipping and my name. I said I didn't order any phone so then they asked if I wanted to provide a password on the account then asked me for my details then I hung up. Obviously is wasn't AT&T and the lady sounded Japanese.

This is AT&T fraud division.  They called my cell phone to make sure the upgrades my wife was making was authorized by me as I'm the primary account holder.  I appreciate the fact they were so careful about the order.  My wife was on another line while they called me.

I got a call from the number and was asking me for my name SSN number. I refused to give the the person said that if I dont give my number will be disconnected.

I just got a call from 972-706-0001 and was asking me for my last 4 SSN number. DON'T GIVE THEM!!! They're not AT&T.

I just received same call.

The person who called said they were calling on a old cell phone bill,dispute.I returned there call using the #(972-726-1986,jason) from my answering machine as they requested.The # is a nonreturnable call.Have yet to talk to the person on a bill that was paid in full in 2005.

I got a call from them, stating that they are the AT&T Data plan services, and asking about my new iphone service, they said i've been charged with 150 dollars for the data usage. they were able to pull out my name and home phone number? wth is going on??

Received call on cell.  Left no msg.  Called back, rang once then a series of beeps.  Never connected. 12/03/07

I got a call from this number, asking to verify my ssn. They said they were from att. When I asked again they said they were from the San Antonio Fire Department, and they needed to conduct an investigation. I told them that I wouldn't give them my info, and that I would personally call att. Then the woman told me that my account may be suspended. I just opened the account and haven't even received my first bill! I doubt that my account could be in any kind of trouble. Definitely a scam of some kind.

I just got a call like that also about my new iPhone. Said they were from the Fraud Department at AT&T and wanted to confirm my information. They left their call back number as 1-877-844-5584. Was strange cause they called way after hours, but I did call the after hours line to confirm, and this was indeed a legitimate call.

Called my new iPhone, claiming to be from AT&T and had to verify that I was who I said I was on my application when I bought the phone. Asked for last 4 digits of social, previous addresses and birthdate. I called back and got one steady long ring.  I called AT&T Wirelss customer service the next day and they were able to confirm that is WAS AT&T calling.

Called my cell phone, woman identified herself as from AT&T fraud dept. Said it wasn't a telemarketing call. Wanted last 4 digits of the account holder's cell number. We have a family plan. I called number back and also got one long steady ring.

Called and asked to verify my cell phone number and the name on the account. They identified themselves as someone from "The New AT&T". Called back and got one long ring that never stopped.

Called my cell phone and when I tried to call back it was one long ring.

One long ring that never stopped when I tried calling back.  Wierd.

The caller was verifying that I had ordered a head set the day before my call on 11/23/07.  I said no, but I would like to have more information on the transaction she was calling about.  Was it fraud?  Was someone trying to get merchandise with my name?

Called this number back and after some silence it said "thank you for calling Cingular Wireless Fraud Division"??
