This is a fax number for NCO financial services....it is a debt collections agency.....

I got the call from a stuttering women leaving a message that they wanted to "update my information before I have my upcoming appointment". Problem is I dont have an upcoming appointment. 2nd, when I called the number they left back, It just didn't seem right. 3rd, I just updated all my information a month ago while at the V.A.

I have received many calls from this number and it is the West Palm Beach VA.  They ask to verify emergency info and appointments and such.  I believe it is legit.

Call received from this number 4:30 p.m. today.  Caller identified herself as VA Medical Center, West Palm Beach.  I go regularly to this location & thought nothing of answering her questions to update my records.  She confirmed that I had an upcoming appointment with my doctor whom she named. She quoted standard info, including my wife's name, our address, my mother's & father's names, but did not ask for credit card info or bank info.  Caller ID was "NCO" only & the 972 number.  I volunteered nothing.  Just confirmed her statements.  She already had all the answers.  Now I'm really concerned.

Caller ID as NCO Finance 972 792 4301, Dallas, Tx.

Claimed to be West Palm VA (their area code is 561).  The VA does not call
vets asking to update information over the phone.
This appears to be an indenty theff type of operation.

I GOT A CALL THIS MORNING FROM THIS NUMBER AND THEY SAID THEY WERE VERIFYING MY VA INFO.   ASKED IF ADDRESS, PHONE AND ONE TO NOTIFY IN CASE OF EMERGENCY WERE THE SAME.   DID NOT ASK FOR ANY FINANCIAL INFO OR SS NO.

who do I report this too...got the call from this number and want to find out what to do to protect myself

A caller from (972) 792-4301 called early in the morning and left a message that it was someone calling from the West Palm Beach Veterans Administration Medical Center. This appears to be suspicious because I routinely receive calls from the WPB VAMC that are local from the 561 Area Code.I have never before received a call from the subject Area Code before today.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

caller claims to be West Palm Beach VAMC representative wanting to verify patient information.  Why does someone in Texas have veteran's information in Florida?  This appears to be a violation of patient privacy by VA if this caller is legititmate.  Otherwise, this caller is attempting to steal the identities of veterans.  The Secretery of Veterans Affairs (VA) sent all veterans a letter stating that the VA will not call veterans to verify their medical information (re: stolen computer), therefore, this caller is in violation of VA policy.

Who is the caller? NCO Financial?
