This number called stating I had a bill in collections for Time Warner Cable. I am current in my Time Warner Cable and still have service from Time Warner. I just wanted to see if this was a scam because they requested that I send them a copy of my current bill to resolve this issue. I don't want to send my information out to a potential scam artist. However they have places this collection on my credit. I just don't see how they can do this. Isn't it illegal to falsely damage ones credit for a collection that is not owed?

I've gotten many phone calls and hang ups then asking my name and saying i need to give them my address and last four digits of my SSN before they would state who they were. I would be wary of any person asking for information.

These jerks call me all hours of the day or night.  The recording tells me I need to call "Mr Phelps".  I don't know any Mr Phelps.  The one time a person actually called they wanted personal information that I was not about to give out to a perfect stranger.

8:40 PM - Left a rapid fire message saying to call Mr. Phelps at 800-543-5788

voice mail says to hold on for three seconds then states it is a debt collection agency. I just erase the message but they keep calling

They keep calling me today. There definietly a credit management group. They used to call from a different "972" number untill I yelled at them to stop calling. I think they collect money for people that owe hospitals or other various government funded facilities.
I contacted my service provider and got this number blocked. Good luck everyone.

Sick of people calling my cell and using my minutes for bogus reasons!  They should be reprimanded!

These people call me every day all hours of day, never leave message.  I do not answer calls from numbers I do not know.  They call my cell phone and I refuse to use my minutes for someone I do not know who they are and they never leave message.  Try leaving a message JERK!

These people call me all the farkin' time. I never answer, but they always leave a voicemail saying that they're trying to reach "Kenneth Charmichael" and that this Kenneth person needs to call them back right away. STOP CALLING ME!

Keep getting this call but never anyone on the other end of the line...If your going to call me and I answer at lease have enough respect to talk since you are taking up my time.  No reason to be a jerk about it!

I just called and spoke with them. They are a bill collector. Person I spoke to was very nice and not pushy at all.

They call me at least twice a day...sometimes late at night, sometimes in the morning, or afternoon.  I never answer...and I delete the voicemails, that is when they leave one.  Can they be blocked??

These phone calls can stop by paying your bills people.  If you don't owe the debt, just notify the collections company that they have the wrong person.  If an automated system leaves a number, call it back to straighten out the misunderstanding.  It takes the same time as posting comments on these sites which accomplishes nothing.

Solicitors cannot call on Sunday. Collectors can. You used the service on a Sunday, they can call to collect for it on a Sunday. Stop whining about being tracked down and pay your friggin' bills!

CMI is a 3rd party collector.  Mine wasn't a scam, they called me on behalf of Dish Network for a closed account that I had a past due balance on.  I'm guilty of the unpaid charges, having a newborn and getting laid off I wasn't and AM NOT able to pay the debt at this time.  They call at all hours of the day/evening.  Lately I've been answering my collectors, i take a deep breath and tell them, LOOK I dont have the money, i'm not going to have the money, I may have to file for bankrupsy (i'm not) that they are mentally exhausting me with the phone calls and I have a newborn to care for, I tell them they can send me correspondence through the mail as much as they like and I will keep record of them but if they continue to call me the way they do I will have to file harassment charges, as you are FREE to be comfortable and fee of harassment in your own home and space.  I've been telling all of my collectors (unfortunately I have a couple) that I know my rights, and I update my address information with them. They gave me a deadline.  I said I don't know what your deadline means to you other than a powertrip but nothing is going to happen by your deadline, I don't EVER end the call...i leave them nothing left to say to me!! I let them go through all of their threats and solutions, then I tell them, I am unable to pay it...I just sit and wait for them to say okay thank you.  If they figure out they cant get anywhere with you they give up! Really! And I avoided them all for so long!

i did a little digging and found the FDCPA documentation.. the rules..
section 807, part (10) The use of any false representation or deceptive means to collect or attempt to collect any debt or to obtain
information concerning a consumer.
we might just have grounds for a class action suit...

the called my cell today at about 1 in the afternoon, and when i hung up and went back to my movie, they called on the house line like 2 min later...  mine said to call mr bracketts office.. but had the same 1800543 5788 number...  i didnt bother calling it cause i've gotten these calls before and when i tried calling them back, they wouldnt tell me anything unless i gave them my name and #, ofcourse i refused...

If this is a collections agency, i wonder what the FDCPA would say concerning using a voice casting system like this.

These people are driving me crazy! They call my number constantly - work -home at night - on Sundays! I won't answer the phone and they leave a message to call a Mr. Phelps or somebody. I wish these people would leave me alone too. I don't owe anyone any money.
