It is clearlyillegal for a deb collection agency to ientify themelves as the IRS.  Since these people record EVERY call - outgoing and incoming, I would report them.  The callers may be "ops sorry, I meant to say DRS...not IRS" but if they are caught doing that "mistake" more than once, they are gone.

Report them!

I got a call from these folks today, at work - went to voice mail.  The caller was very polite and professional, said she was with dynamic recovery solutions, and asked for a callback.  But, never used my name, gave no indication what debt was owed, etc.   No big deal of course, I just won't call back.  The trick is to not take these calls personally. In fact, it's sometime fun to just lead them on -- stay calm, ask THEM a bunch of questions about their mailing address, who the CEO is, are they listed with the BBB, how many complaints they have had since 2000, what size shoes they wear, etc.  If YOU stay calm, they usually get REAL excited (or maybe pretend to).   But it won't do any good to threaten them with the FTC, Atty General, DNC list, etc.  They just don't care.

Optionally, you can require the to send you specifics by postal mail - NO EXCEPTIONS.  Or, have them e-mail full documentation to you, but use a JUNK e-mail address that you get for free from Gmail or Yahoo or other.   No reason to increase the spam in your regular box.

Another scam artist tied to psychic crime family in Dallas,Tx., be careful folks as they target the elderly and look to empty your pockets. Be safe. Be cool and AIM the red dot squarely between the eyes. Please remember these things that the people calling you are good at what they do and they will cozy up to you, lie to you, get their church to pray for you, sell you angelic prayer statues for BIG monies, seperate you from your loved ones as they convince the "mark" who they are hustling to quit speaking with you. These are the SCUM of the earth, the most despicable lowlife lying two-bit cons. Get rid of these people and personally speaking, I would do more to make sure they never ever ply their scamming disgusting trade again!! Good luck folks and END their ruthless sick trade. The time is now to act!! GOD bless you all.

This number keeps calling. It's diversified consultants inc. A debt collector. They usually hang up when you answer one of their multiple daily calls. Another wrong number. Just another preason to have an unlisted phone number. And seriously, if you waste time having a robo-dialer call random telephone numbers, at least staff your collection department with enough sharks to attempt to collect debt for you. Maybe DCI should read up on the laws about collections ave send a letter to the proper recipient to verify the debt.

I just received a message from a Robert @ Beacon.  He said that it was urgent and that he had left me several messages.  When I returned his call he was trying to set up an appointment with me with an insurance broker for my company.  He was rude and when I told him I wasn't interested he said "Whatever" very rudely and hung up on me.  Liar and rude!  That's a great way to drum up business!

This phone line made a computerized phone call to my home today. The call asked for a person whose number this is NOT. I have had this number for over 10 years. It further stated that it was not a sales call. The computer voice then instructed to press 1 if you are not the person requested, which I did. Then, it instructed to press 2 if you need more time to go get that person and bring them to the phone. Unbelievable. I finally caught on that instructions were not going to end, so I hung up. How stupid was I for actually taking instructions from a computerized robocall? Idiot!

Called my prepaid cell phone.  I pulled the phone away from my ear to look when I didn't hear anything.  As I put it back some woman was saying "Please".  I said "pardon me?"  She said can I speak to Norman *****, please.  I said "Ma'am, I've had this number for 7 years and everybody in the world is looking for him, good luck".  No response, so I hung up.  This (&(^*%## has cost me more time & money.  I don't know if he had the number once, or if he is just putting it down as his number.

I haven't requested a new number because I'm afraid of getting someone worse.  I thought I gotten rid of most callers, but I guess the bottom-feeders never quit.

The company is DRS, Inc. or http://www.drsinc.us/.  Their website is:  http://www.drsinc.us/

They call my number frequently because of someone who last had the number 12 years ago.  Today I threatened them with a call to the TX Attorney General's office.  Maybe that will help.

Then the guy all about threaten me with legal words and I told him. WELL I am not an idiot and you can take your 5th grade legal education and this is what you can do. CALL MY LAWYER and gave him the number and then I said if you call me again with this crap I will file with the FCC that you are harassing me at my job. My lawyer will then file a complaint as well and with as many people that I know in the Dallas and Denton County Judicial System I will have you thrown in jail for Stalking and Harassment. Some lady (I guess you could call her a lady) from 972-865-4722 left a message, this was "important" and call me back.  I never call someone back unless they can give me the "company" and a good reason.  They are now in my phone saved as "scam artist- do not answer".  Don't answer this unless you enjoy getting mad at ignorant debt collectors or whatever you chose to call them.  If there was a better job market they could get a real job instead of HARRASSING INNOCENT people.  I guess they enjoy kicking the dog after work because I would rather be unemployed than harrass someone the way they do.  Trying to collect on old debt that is years old and lying by using the "I" word - IRS.  Who are the poor people that believe them?  If it's important they will send you a letter..........
Thanks to the others who have warned us about these scammers. There is nothing Dynamic about them.

Just got the same call from 972-865-4722. The lady said I owed money from some credit card I had 10 years ago. She was nice at first, but when I told her I wanted everything in writing (a physical copy mailed to me) she started to unravel. She was wanting my banking information to automatically draft payments or a lump sum at a considerable discount. I then asked her the name of the company she worked for and she said she already told me (which she did not). I eventually had to hang up on her, because she was starting to threaten me with supposed harsh IRS penalties,

Thankfully I Googled the number and ended up here to see it has happened to others. These agencies are really getting crafty with their attempts to extort money.

After some more researching, I found the name of the company, Dynamic Recovery Services, Inc.

I got a call from this number on my cell phone.  My husband acutally answered the call though.  Apparently they asked for me by name, said the company name was "Dynamic"(sp?) and refused to tell my husband what the call was in regards too.  Glad I found this site.  I can tell him my first thought was accurate.  Just another spammer call!

This is a debt collector.  The actually number they are calling from is not the number that will show up on your phone.  They "project" that number to make it appear that it's a local call, as people are less inclined to answer to 800's and out of state numbers.   It's always an "urgent matter".    Any debt collector that is saying they are the IRS when clearly they are not is not a legit debt collector in my book and will not ever get anything from me.   Thanks for playing...

Received call from same # just now, saying caller's supervisor needed to speak to me, urgently.  The "supervisor" wanted to verify the last 4 digits of my SSN.  I refused to give her any information.  She claimed she wanted to make certain she was speaking to the correct person.  She said she had all the information she needed to proceed, and I told her to send me something in writing.  She said she had, and I hung up on her, after telling her she was disturbing me at work at the law firm where I work.

After poking around on reverse phone lookups, I found this site.   Thank you.  I received a (thankfully, polite) voicemail on my cell phone on 3/26/12, from a man, Jay Alan Smith (I presume I have the "Jay" and "Alan" spelled correctly), saying he was with DRS, that this (my cell) was the number given them as contact, and that he needed to speak with me (he didn't call me by name) ,about an important personal matter.  He provided the number from which he was calling, 972-865-4722, as his direct number; and 866-275-9370 as an alternative contact number.  The reverse lookup on 972-865-4722 showed the location to be in the northern part of downtown Dallas; possibly Oak Lawn, Uptown, or City Place.  Google research of DRS provided multiple doctors (of course), a couple of other companies, and a Dynamic Recovery Systems located in Addison (according to the map).  A Google search of "Jay Allen Smith" provided a site for "J. Allen Smith", an attorney with SettlePou (Settle.Pou.com),  Their phone numbers are all 214-xxx-xxxx numbers.  (I wonder if someone is trying to impersonate/imply they are Mr. Smith, the attny?)  So ...  thanks to the information you have provided, and my own research, I think I won't be responding to the Mr. Smith who called me.
