Thanks Gunnar. They said they were a global process server and I needed to call to obtain legal documents before any more legal ramifications occurred. They even got my parents number and left message there

I wouldn't be concerned. Process servers do NOT call ahead of time. EVER! "James" & "steve" are probably just Shills for their fraud-shop. If you take another call from this number, DEMAND a notice of validation by mail. NOT e-mail or fax. DEMAND their valid physical address. As per federal regulation under the FDCPA. When they refuse...case closed. They're scammers attempting to collect an invalid, time-barred or purely fictitious debt.
A simple call to your local clerk of court will completely take the wind out of the sails of scammers like these buffoons. If there were any papers filed, they'd tell you. I can guarantee that the clerks office will tell you that no such papers have been filed. If papers had been filed you would not be getting a call. You'd be receiving a summons. Process servers, and deputies, never give you a heads up. Think about it! If you were wanting to serve someone a summons would you call ahead & set up an "appointment"?
The threats of "being served" & "being arrested" are the lamest & oldest tricks used by the fraudulent debt collection outfits. They count on people being intimidated. They hope their target is naïve. The easiest way to know a fraudulent collector is to check your mail. Legitimate debt collection firms use the mail. You'll have received notices & bills from them. Most likely, a LOT of them. Only the scammers will not use the mail. They're afraid of it. They know that their claims are fraudulent. Mail fraud carries a heavy punch. Legitimate debt collection firms will be happy to supply a valid physical address. Frauds hide behind P.O. boxes, at mail drops, in strip malls. More often now, the frauds are foreign. Usually Indian. They're cheap & they rarely are encumbered with morals.
It's easy to spot the frauds. Do some research. Know your rights under the FDCPA. Common sense goes a long way. Actually, if you have any sense at all you're already far smarter than a fraudulent debt collector. They're not hired for their intelligence. If they had any intelligence at all, they wouldn't have to be fraudulent debt collectors.
Be Safe. Be Aware.

I received a call from this number a few weeks ago and thought it was a scam! stating they had paperwork for me or some nonsense. I literally just got served yesterday afternoon at my place of business and then was put on suspension. I don't know why they couldn't try to reach me at my residence if they had that info too!

Just got the same call...cell # and work #. He said he was calling from my county's dispatch processing center. I called my county's dispatch and the center that dispatches deputy's to serve legal paperwork. They have nothing on my name and nothing going out to my address. The lady at the processing center for my county said they never call when they cannot deliver paperwork. They leave notices on your door and only at home address. She said if you call them back do not give them any personal information. She also told me that she just got off the phone with another person that got the same exact call.

Calls stating that they are having a problem submitting legal paperwork to my job, that the courier was told I was unavailable..of course there is no record of any one trying to deliver anything.  They refuse to say what it is concerning, only that I need to give them banking information in order to 'resolve the situation' before there are any other 'legal complications'
