The same thing just basically happened to me.  They called my granddaughters phone and told her I was being investigated.  After reading these posts... I won't be calling them back

EyJust received call from this number saying that if my husband didn't pay over $1000 that  was going to have a felony warrant issued first thing on the morning. Their threats shook me to the core. I was in a panic, crying and my babies were crying because i was..called my husband for him to tell me it sounds like a scam..so i googled the number and found this page..obviously they are scam artists, and prey on people just like me. Thank goodness my husband knows better. Will be contacting the police if i reciece another call.r

3344 teachtree rd atlanta geroga 30326.... this is the address he gave me he called me threating me to pay off a payday loan that is a scam hes name is mark and hes sec is julie!!!

I am trying to track this deadbeat down.  He is a scam artist!  He claims you owe for a bad check and demands payment immediately over the phone or by a money transfer service like MoneytGram.  He also says if you don't there will be a warrant for your arrest.  If he contacts you do not give into his threats.  This is an illegal tactic and is punishable under the FDCPA.  The phone numbers they call from are VoIP (like MajicJack).  Get as much information from him as possible.  If he refuses to give you any information take down the information for the MoneyGram/Western Union and call your local police.  Any legit debt collector will have a real phone number and would not be using VoIP service in a sorry attempt to cover their tracks!

Please do not send him any money!  If you do there is no way you can ever get it back!

The numbers they have called from are 404-890-5824 (Atlanta Metro Area) and 972-961-3949 (Dallas, TX Metro Area).

We just got a call.  They threatened me good.  Told me that I wrote a bad check and some other things.  Told me I had to pay, but I called my back about the check and they could not find anything.
