Do not call isn't working because no one is prosecuting them.

Why in the world would I answer a 973-000 phone number!?! - yes exactly....
why should we answer these fake numbers

Was busy and was expecting another call. Didn't look at the number until I had already answered. I didn't say anything and the call was ended on their end. Should I have any concerns about safety with my personal information?

Yep, another "unknown" caller that doesn't leave a message and uses technology to hide who they are.  REALLY?!?!?  What happened to signing up for the "DO NOT CALL" list?  These people are a nuisance and evidently STUPID!  Why in the world would I answer a 973-000 phone number!?!

Got a bothersome call AGAIN.  I thought the "DO NOT CALL" list was supposed to eliminate these nasty, bothersome, not-wanted calls!!!  They must know that their call is unwanted because they use "unknown" and untraceable phone numbers!!!

Received a call for which I didn't answer from this INCREDIBLY suspicious telephone number on my cell phone this morning.

I received a call from (973) 000-0001 today at 12:41 pm and it says NJ, USA. I have been on the national do not call list since 2010. When I call the number back I get "Message MB 20: The customer you have called is unavailable or has traveled outside the coverage area. Please try your call again later." Then the call disconnects.

Same here. Blocked number from calling again. In most instances people can hack into your phone by sending an email with a link for u to click on so never do that. Lol. Hopefully by answering we didnt allow the losers into our phones somehow.

On the DNC list, but it seems that it doesn't matter. Showed from NJ, USA. No vmail.

Got a call today from 973-000-0001 stayed on line long enough to get a person who started swearing at me when I asked to be removed from the list and then hung up on me

Don't answer calls from numbers you don't recognize.  Most likely these are computers dialing random numbers, one of which happened to be yours.  When you answer, it confirms that there is an actual person who owns that number.  Your number is then sold to others who then dial it.  Your calls will continue to multiply the more often you answer the calls.

How do you know they were "Hindu"?  You discussed religion with scam tele-marketers?

Criminals don't abide by do-not-call-list laws.  Shocking!

I did not recognize the number so I did not pick up. They left no message.

They told me they were going to lower the interest rate on my credit cards. When I said I don't use my credit card, he said I should roll it up and shove it up my tiny a**. Oh, they had an accent from India too.

Got a call from this number no one on the other end. Called them back but it said it was a invalid number.

I actually answered it for some reason and no one talked it was just silent so I hung up haha, I guess they don't expect people to answer it... anyways hopefully it wasn't something that allows them to hack into my phone or anything weird for answering it...

A Hindu woman called us and offered lower credit card rates. Since we don't have have credit cards this was odd. We knew it was a scam, but went along with it for a second. They asked for our credit card number, they were told to $"@# themselves. Then a Hindu man stepped and informed he had been "monitoring our call". Thank god!

Cell phone call from that number.  4 rings and hangup.  Am on all do not call lists, too.

Thank you for the advice.  I didn't answer my phone because of the unknown number; I also am on the No Call lists.

The callers are the drug-addicted "card services" scammers, who call us, pretending to be associated with our credit card companies, in an attempt to fool us into giving them our credit card numbers, so they can rip us off. People that have given their card numbers to these junkies have suffered severe financial losses. Beware of these lowlifes, and warn others, before they are cheated!
