I keep getting calls on my work # and have to put our actual clients on hold or interrupt me while I am working and all it says is that we need to update our google listing and to cancel hit 2-which we have done many times.  The one time I hit one they asked if this was the business owner and I said no, and they hung up.  The second time I just said to take our listing off their call list or we will file a BBB dispute and she said " and what do you think filing a complaint against my business will actually do?" very rudely.  I repeated, "just take us off as we receive over 6 calls a day".

POSSIBLE IRS SCAM CALL:  (Published in the Berkshire Eagle Newspaper (Massachusetts) on 11/7/13:

PITTSFIELD - The Internal Revenue Service has issued an alert about a sophisticated nationwide telephone scam that is targeting taxpayers, including recent immigrants.

Victims are told they owe money to the IRS and it must be paid promptly through a pre-loaded debit card or wire transfer [a clue that this is a scam.]  If the victim refuses to cooperate, they are then threatened with arrest, deportation, or suspension of a business or driver's license.  In many cases, the caller becomes hostile and insulting.

"This scam has hit taxpayers in nearly every state in the country," said IRS Acting Commissioner Danny Werfel in a statement.  "We want to educate taxpayers so they can help protect themselves.  Rest assured, we do not and will not ask for credit card numbers over the phone, nor request a pre-paid debit card or wire transfer."
"If someone unexpectedly calls claiming to be from the IRS and threatens police arrest, deportation or license revocations if you don't pay immediately, that is a sign that it really isn't the IRS calling."

Werfel noted that the first [legitimate] IRS contact with taxpayers on a tax issue is likely to occur via mail.

Other characteristics of this scam include:
- Scammers use fake names and IRS badge numbers.  They generally use common names and surnames to identify themselves. (GET and WRITE DOWN THEIR NAMES and BADGE NUMBERS to submit to Police and federal authorities, if possible.)
- Scammers may be able to recite the last four digits of a victim's Social Security number.
- Scammer spoof the IRS toll-free number on caller ID to make it appear that it's the IRS calling.
- Scammers sometimes send bogus IRS emails to some victims to support their bogus calls.
- Victims hear background noise of other calls being conducted to mimic a call site.
- After threatening victims with jail time or driver's license revocation, scammers hang up and others soon call back pretending to be from the local police or the Department of Motor Vehicles, and the caller ID [spoofed] supports their claim.

WHAT TO DO---
Consumers who receive a phone call from someone claiming to be from the IRS should call (800) 829-1040.
If you know you don't owe taxes or have no reason to think that you owe any taxes call and report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at (800) 366-4484.
Those targeted by this scam should also contact the Federal Trade Commission and use their "FTC Complaint Assistant" at FTC.gov.  Please add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments of your complaint.

We just got this our phone number a couple of months ago, having changed it because of other harassing calls we were getting for someone who had never had the previous number. Been getting several calls a week regarding updating the google maps information, press 1 to speak to a rep, press 2 to have number removed. I have pressed 2 every single time. Then today, got a call from them again, pressed 2, and 2 hours later, got another call. So, I pressed 1, was asked what is my business and I stated, this number does not go to a business and I have pressed 2 numerous times to have my number removed and all the jackwipe did was hang up on me.

We are a state university office and have received repeated robo-calls from this number with a woman's voice telling us she represents Google and that if we do not speak with their representatives they will list us in search results as a closed business (which is, of course, ridiculous, because this is not how Google does business). I pressed 1 to speak to a representative to ask (again) that they remove our number from their list at once. Each live rep has been more rude than the last, and today the guy on the line not only argued with me and refused to give his name, he insisted I was lying because I refused to tell him my name or the name of my business (even though I had already explained to him we were a university office). Report these folks to the Better Business Bureau, but many people do not know they also are able to call the police about such phone harassment. Which is what I will do the next time they call (and they will). Horrible people.

I received a call on January 17, 2013, instructing me that if I didn't respond to the caller, google would be notified that my business was permanently closed.  When I asked for the company's name, the representative sneered "probably not gonna happen, ma'am." He then hung up on me.

HOWEVER I did get a real phone number for who is calling.

949-274-9058   Name is Ryan and the company name is something like
Ecom media or something.

Why dont you all just keep calling him at this number and bother him.

Let me know if that works for you people.
