I get a call everyday from this number.

there isn't anybody on the line ,but they call 3-4 times a day you can't get anything done .I tried to call back and the line is busy.

They do not stop calling!!!

If all of a sudden this company has a $5000 lawsuit filed against them in small claims court by 1000's of people that they are harassing, then they might realize people are tired of this. The only way to accomplish anything in this world is sticking together and standing up and fighting, we can keep complaining on site's like these or everyone take a day off work and go file the lawsuit, I'm sure it will stop relatively fast when they lose a few million in lawsuits. Good luck people, I will keep you updated on how it works out for me.

I am filing a harassment lawsuit against this number and I would like to get some support as I see this number is harassing lots of people, not just myself. If you are interested in being included in this, please express your interest on this forum and a way of contacting you.

Continually calls several times a day

The real problem seems to be these calls are not covered since you have a business relationship with your electric and gas delivery companies.  Under the various utility deregulation rules, your delivery company provides your contact information to various suppliers that are authorized to supply electricity or gas via your delivery company.  From what I can gather since these alternative suppliers are business partners with your delivery company, they are covered under the ongoing business relationship exception to the DNC list.  You could call the reporting number on the DNC website and ask directly if these calls are covered or not but if they are not, that explains why they continue.

what good is it going to do me to report these calls .ive tried for the last 6 mths I still keep getting them .any ideas would surely be apprieciated.

I am called every day by this number.  When I answer no one is there.  When I call back, only a message can be heard.  I am sick and tired of this!

These scammers should be prosecuted. Maybe some time in jail might change their tune.

This number calls my home several times a day too! It is annoying and my wife called back and did the option '1' deal with no change. This is a ridiculous use of robo-calling!! It needs to be stopped!!

Called multiple times and did not leave a message

Yet another solicitor helping me reduce my electric bill. They keep adding new calling numbers faster than I can block them. Countering these pests is pretty well hopeless.  They caught me at a bad time once, so I retaliated by wasting their time too. When they asked about my current power bill, I said hold on a minute while I go and get it off my desk. I then hit the mute button, laid down the handset, and went back to my work. When I heard the squawking tone, it was time to hang up the handset. I wonder how long the nincompoop hung on waiting for me to dig through my desk (hehe)?

These morons called every day for two weeks, finally I just connected my fax to my phone and went celluar. They can talk to the fax machine all they what!

My thinking, at this point, is that the do not call list might just be another moneymaker for gov.  great data base to sell secretly that is constantly being updated.  Seems to make no difference in amount of calls even if you are on the list.
I get this, and many other calls.  It is even worse now when many people are trying to sell you cheaper electricity because they get a comission or are allowed to sell electricity from an independent "electric" company they form.

This number calls my house multiple times a day. We never answer, but the calls keep coming.

Another junk call - left no message.

This caller has been trying my phone # for around 6 months now.  The first 8 digits are always the same and the CID name shows up as ' Gov't Assist; ' or ' Gas Assist;' or ' Power Bill ' and a few other bogus, non-human names.
So I blocked the first 8 digits and my Call Blocker kicks ' em without my phone ever ringing.  With a first ring suppressor in line blocking the first ring my Call Blocker receives... the Call Blocker runs on my computer, it instantly scans my whitelist  / blacklist against the incoming call.  When a blacklisted caller calls, bingo...
the stooge is kicked.
Whitelisted callers always get through along with first time callers.  So put your privacy back in your control and get a Call Blocker with first ring suppressor.

SIMPLE FIX -

Answer calls you dont this way:

"FRAUD DIVISION, Officer Jenkins, how may I help you"  They will 'poop' their pants and drop you in no time.  

If they are dumb enough to actually talk to you and didn't hear your opening line, have some fun let them give their 'speech' THEN resond, "Just so I get this straight, your name is xxxx, your number is xxxx, RIGHT?  I want to make sure I document this correctly on the FRAUD REPORT you are calling me about.  When they are all confused at this point, reintroduce yourself, Officer Jenkins, FRAUD DIVISION.

Normally I would never approve of impersonating a police officer, but in this case one scam deserves another.

I receive calls from both 973-273-7843 and 7845 every single day on both my cell phone and land line and have been for months.  In fact, I'll receive the call on my cell and five minutes later, my home phone rings.  I've only ever answered twice and there was never anyone on the line - what are they attempting to achieve?  I agree with everyone else on this forum - it's infuriating, frustrating and needs to stop, but how?!  Arghhh . . .

John on Dec 17th is right.  Block all numbers starting with 973-273-78**.  I'm porting my cell phone number to Google Voice to block these scam phone numbers.  Here's the info - http://support.google.com/voice/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1065667  Google Voice also gives you free text messaging and visual voicemail.  Verizon won't help, the FCC won't help, only Google will help stop these scam calls.
