Recorded message, telemarketing.  Something about satellite tv.  Gave the automated option to be removed from the list.  They called my mobile phone.

No message left, so no idea why they were calling.
No name in display either.
So far haven't received overly repetitive calls from this #

If someone finds out who or what this is I'd appreciate the info. Whoever keeps calling but I refuse to answer.

The reason they call and do not say anything is that they are recording when you answer your phone.They can then sell the info to Companies and they know when you will be home. It saves them from calling and not being able to sell their crap to you. There is no way to stop it as it is not against the law. annoying

Yes it is definitely a scam. Caller is a telemarketer and probably just wants to look good when they check his/her call sheets.

Too bad these companies don't record the calls. That way the telemarketer will have to actually speak to you to get paid.

Caller may also originate from overseas which is very difficult to block with our existing DNC list

I recently changed from ATT to Verizon, and ever since, I've been getting these scam calls. I've only picked up a couple of times, but several other times I didn't recognized the number and think I can safely assume it was the same scam, the vehicle warranty scam.

My hunch is that the scam is linked to another unwanted call, coming from a supposedly legit Tennessee telemarketing firm called Flake-Wilkerson. I got a call from this one, 615-886-7224, right after I changed cell services, and it claimed to be asking about my old phone service.

When I looked up that number, it traced back to Flake-Wilkerson, and other posts suggested a woman named Leigh Ann Hornbuckle was in charge of taking people off the call list, by calling her at 615-866-5401.

I have no idea if she and her company is related to the warranty scam calls, but it seems an awful coincidence. I've yet to try calling the firm, but may do so soon, an also report this to the FCC.

i have better things to do than answer these non-stop calls of bull.

just got a new phone # 2 days ago and all these weird #'s keep calling I know none of them 973-406-2021 is calling me twice a day and wont leave a VM. Im from Grand Island Nebraska. this is annoying these people have no life and are a***oles

I missed it.
I checked online who it was, and i ended up comming to this site.
It is pointless that now people have spam on cellphones too.
I usually never answer calls from numbers that i don't know.
So hopefully I won't be affected by it.

called me today at 2:57pm.  when i answered, nobody responded to me.  they just hung up.

I posted here about 4 hours ago. Unfortunately I seem to have been the only one that answered and pushed a number,thinking it was a "legit" advertisement call or telemarketer. So other than that they now know my number, which apparently they already knew, is there any other NEGATIVE effect to having pressed a number? Selling the number to other telemarketers is not the negative effect I'm asking about, I'm asking about a real negative effect, like if they can steal anything or charge you for anything?
After they called me once and I answered/asked to be put on their do-not-call list, they never called me again, unlike all those here who have been called several times today. Is that because they "honored" my choice, or because they got what they were after, whatever it could have been? Is there anyway to get the phone companies or the government to do anything about this? It does after all cost people for others to call their cell phones, doesn't it, so it is illegal if someone systematically does this. I looked into the calling number on google by the way, it is a land line they're calling from, so there must be an address associated with it. It's somewhere NJ I think, judging from the area code. I called and reported it to my cell phone carrier, and they noted it. If EVERYONE here does the same, they might do something about it or get the law enforcement involved, that would be really good.

i got 5 calls today from this number, it rang once and then stopped. I didn't answer it...instead i looked it up on here! I love the internet!

I only use my cell for emergencies so give the number to no one. Just got a call from 973-406-2021.  I missed the call. They left no messge. After googling the number I am glad i did.

They did not leave a message!  I do not give my number to loosers!

I just got a call from this number on my cell and I agree with everything I've read on here. I don't answer numbers I don't know. And I never will. I hope they stop calling me cuz this isn't the first time they've called.

I have received NUMEROUS calls on my cell phone from different numbers. ALL B.S. First six numbers wanted to sell me an extended warranty for my vehicle. Caller could not tell me what kind of vehicle they were calling about, or even what MY name was/is. I contacted the Attorney General, and was told that unfortunately they could do nothing unless I could get those idiots to mail me something. I contacted the FCC, and have yet to hear back on that. Googled all numbers, and read complaint upon complaint about these numbers. Now, I start receiving calls about a home security system for 29.99 a month, with something about a sign on my lawn. I am tired of the calls on my cell phone. I have tried to get them to mail me something, but no luck. Try to get these people to send you something so maybe the FCC and or the Attorney General can put an end to this.

by pushing 3, you just validated your number and these crooks (who have already stolen the cell number they called you from will no use your number as a valid number and/or resell it to other telemarketing crooks....  never ever call back or respond in any manner before you google the number to see who/what it is...

I have been called 4 times today so far. I won't answer ANY call I do not recognize. Some people obviously have NO LIFE!

My advice: NEVER answer any caller you do not recognize. If it is important, that person will leave a message.

It is Spam. Something about putting signs in my yard and they'll install a security system ($30/month plan)
