< A co-worker sent it to me too and begged me to call this number and to forward the text to everyone that I knew so that Obama would legalize weed.  Sheesh.. like I have the time to worry about legalizing weed when I dont even smoke it!  LOL .  Anyway, thats what that text is all about.

On Why I Would Never Call 973-409-3274 to Legalize Cannabis and What Number I Would Call Instead

Today I got a text message from an awesome activist which said:


   "Vote On marijuana. On CNN today, Obama will consider with 1 million votes. call 973-409-3274 listen & press# Pass it On!"



I've seen this message (or variations of it) on facebook before and I have never called it and NEVER will. Why? Because it's an non-scientific poll that promises more than it could ever deliver.

First of all, this wasn't on CNN today or any day that I can find. So that's misleading. Second of all, the number is powered by Humor Hotlines which usually does prank call hotlines. How serious do you think anyone's going to take a poll that comes from a prank call hotline?

Third of all, there's no way calling 973-409-3274 is going to legalize cannabis. Lastly of all, Obama can't create or change laws. He can only sign (or veto) laws which Congress passes.

The only phone # any American can call to legalize Cannabis in the USA is their legislators' #, legislators on all levels of government ~~ City, County, State, and Federal ~~ Plain and simple.

Actually, it's the DEA and FDA that have the power to classify controlled substances.  Both agencies belong to the EXECUTIVE branch of government.  And who head the executive branch?  Oh, that's right, the President.  And who's President right now?  Obama.  Therefore, OBAMA DOES have the power to make marijuana legal.

FURTHERMORE, snooping can ruin careers- even when the victim is doing nothing wrong.

As a paralegal, I helped represent a woman who was dishonorably discharged from the military because her husband snooped through her e-mail without a security clearance.  Now HE doesn't have a phone, because SHE paid for it.

So, in other words, you're a do***e bag, and you were snooping because you had a guilty conscience about treating your wife like crap, and you wanted to make yourself feel better by "justifying" it with something she did wrong.  If she hadn't had an affair, you would've looked for another reason that you weren't the "bad guy" in the marriage.  But you still were.

If you have some REASONABLE evidence your significant other might be lying to you, it makes sense to TALK with them and ask them to assuage your fears.  But if you're sneaking around digging through their phone, e-mail, diary, etc., without their permission, that relationship is already doomed.  No one wants to stay with someone who treats them like a liar, and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.  This is something I've learned as the daughter of two people who've stayed faithful to each other for over 30 years, while all of their friends are on marriages 2, 3, 4...

plus it might help the side effects of global warming and pollution!! think of the millions of people that will have pot growing. thats pure oxygen for the planet as well as thc for me!!!

This isn't just about people that consume pot...it's also about those that feel that it could help the economy...There are people out there that do not smoke pot that support this.

not to mention the federal income from a generalized marijauna tax and any additional importing/exporting tarrifs... lot of money to be made, a lot of money to be saved...
