Same type of automated message as previously reported, but the call claimed to be from something like "National Credit Reporting". My location is Oregon.

Call came in at 12:16 AM. Answered, and tried to navigate to talk to real person, but it kept re-routing me to the card number entry. It actually accepted "5" (just "5") as a credit card number, but still wouldn't let me talk to anyone.
Boo. Nobody to yell at :(

Phishing scam card numbers.

I got the same machine operator saying it was a national debit card data base. They claimed my card was locked and to press 1 to unlock it. I just hung up and went about my normal day.
Nancy 2011-08-10 23:16:21 Unknown

Same here. Called at 6:30. Said they were a securtiy company and my debit card had been "locked". I hung up. I called my bank to check if everything was ok with my account. It is fine. I gave the number to their fraud department.
Stevie 2011-08-10 22:27:24 Unknown
Call to me (about 6:15 EDT) didn't even name the bank. Just said my debit card had been "locked." Same robot voice. I pushed 1 to see what was next. Robot asked for my 16 digit debit card number. You bet. NOT. I thought of all the elderly who would panic and do just what these thieves asked. So glad, however, that sites like this one exist to enlighten us all. Thanks, everybody. Pass the word, especially to older folks who really need protection.

A machine generated voice just called my cell phone from this number. It claimed to be a credit union informing me that my debit card was locked, but I'm not a member of any credit unions.

Received a call at 11:30 PM saying my Bank of American Debit Card had been frozen. It instructed me to press one to speak to someone in the security department. First of all, I don't have a Bank of American card of any kind. Secondly, no reputable bank calls at 11:30 at night. I just hung up. What is so sad is may people will fall for this, end up giving out personal info and find that they no longer have a bank account with anything in it.
mgutowpilot 2011-08-10 17:14:03 Unknown

I received a call from this number at 2.45a in Texas. So not only are they a phishing scam, but they have zero sense of timing.

Received a call on my cell phone in Houston at 8:00PM saying they were Bank of America and I needed to update my bank information right now and to press 1 to continue. I hung up.
Vicky 2011-08-10 00:56:23 Unknown
Just received a call from the same # indicating a lock had been placed on my debit call - DID NOT provide them my information but reported it to BOA. They indicated that a lot of customers have been receiving these calls and it's definitely a scam.
mss 2011-08-09 22:53:02 Unknown
Even I received a call from this number. It claims to be from BOA. Even I am sure its a SCAM. So please stay away from providing then any information and just hang up.
ajr 2011-08-09 20:11:13 Unknown
I got the same call claiming to be BOA as well. I hung up and called BOA to be sure this wasn't real. It ended up that the call was indeed a fishing scam.
Frank 2011-08-09 18:41:28 Unknown
This is a scam, a very robotic voice calls you and asks you to press 1 and that it will take you to the security department. I dont even have a bank card this is such a great scam. Just block the number or dont answer it.
