They better take my name of this list because its b***s***

according to NJ.com, this is a company from Florida, who is calling on behalf of PAL of NJ. They received 80% of the money collected. A total of 1.2 Milllion was collected, with 1 million going to phone company, around 120,000 to administrative costs, and only 9,000 was split between EVERY local PAL of NJ.

Please stop calling!!!all morning all night! Just stop it already!

I Recieved my call last evening! The caller ID said unknown caller. Man identified himself as Joe Parisi from the PAl of NJ. He was soliciting a donation for the local PAL or in our case the West Milford PAL. He told me that we donated last year and when questioned said yes the money we donated went directly to the West Milford PAL. I asked again to make sure the donation went local and asked if I donate now would it go to them as well. He said yes it would. I asked why not donate directly to our West Milford PAl and he said this was the same thing and that they just provide a sevice for them. I asked for more information and was pointed to their website.
What I did not share with him is THAT I AM THE PRESIDENT OF THE WEST MILFORD PAL AND BEEN A BOARD MEMBER FOR 7 YEARS. In those 7 years we have never recieved 1 penny from them!
A total scam!
Looked them up on the web and website is just a banner with their name on it. Not even an address.I also found out they keep over 60% of what  they bring in at a minimum and I have yet to find who they have donated any money too. According to Guidestar they collected $1.4 million dollars in 2010! That is a minimum of $840,000 in fees......
This is disgracefull and these guys should be put in jail.
BTW we have never contributed to this organization despite their claims that we have!

Just a got a call from this number. I ALWAYS filter my calls by listening to the answer machind, and the woman calling spoke into the machine.  However, she was not leaving a real message, instead just acting like she was just a friend calling, saying quite loudly into the machine, "Bruce, hey Bruce! Bruce, hey!  Pick-up Bruce!" She kept that up for nearly a minute. I didn't fall for the scam, but that is pretty bold and I guess some people will fall for it.  This is standard behavior for this company.  They frequently call and won't leave a message.

...as if I could give a s*** about sports. And I know that's just the PITCH. Just a scam, preying on the stupid and the elderly.

My grandmother has been receiving the same calls, but she says they always hang up on her, so I have been answering. Guess what they hang up on me too, cant want my money that much if they keep hanging up. So they called again tonight, I answer and they ask for her I tell them Im sorry she cant come to the phone she just had surgery so the guy says he will call back that is unless her husband is around. Her husband has been dead for 50 years! I tell him to leave a message with me and he wont he is trying to get off the phone and I wont let him ( ha how does it feel) finally i told him that if he cant leave a message with me to not even bother calling back bc my grandmother will never take their call. At least now I know who is calling!

The tele-marketing company employed by the PAL (police athletic league is still at it!  Yes they are a charity and exempt from the no call list but they have to rate as one of if not the rudest callers.  Their phone ID reads Local Phone Number.  Why not PAL?  I'll tell you why, because the organizations that benefit from this charity solicitation don't want to be recognized as a part of the fund raising.  Even the American Red Cross hires tele-marketers to call for donations and reminders of services volunteered!

As previously suggested, let the machine answer the phone.  No recorded message?  No problem!

I didn't answer the call because it gives no name.  If this is the local police they should be ashamed of themselves for soliciting over the phone when so many telemarketers are doing this crap.  Why should this company be exempt?  The township police send envelopes in the mail & now over the phone as well.  Shame on YOU!

I have asked repeatedly not to call me.  I received a call and they hung up on me when I said hello.

yes, these people are annoying!!!!  they interfere with emergency calls that i may have.........they are like a cancer and do not go away!

call at least 10x a week. Number comes up on ID as Local Area Call. They wanted money for some charity the one of the few times that I answered.

Not sure if you folks realize this but these guys are violating state laws and can receive massive fines if reported. Just got my second call from them. I asked, how did you get my number? "We call everyone." That's exactly what is a violation of the Federal Do Not Call list! reporting now...

Same as the others here,  Did not answer, left no message....   Ignore or opt out. Pretty cute they have 'Local Area Call' on the I.D.  what a lie.

keep getting calls from this number, They say nothing and are silent for a few mins then they hang up.This is SO ANNOYING

SCAM -- on two counts, first that i'm on the do not call list (yet they asked for us by name) and second, these guys have already been fined and banned!

I am an employee at the PAL and just received a call from a gentleman who was also solicited by this number. The PAL is NOT soliciting donations over the phone, and this number does not represent our facilities. It has been brought to our attention that there was a potential scam, but now we have the number as well as the 1800 donation number they were using. Please call and inform your local PAL building if you continue to be called by these scammers.

Please do not let this change your mind about the PAL! We are currently looking into this and will hopefully take care of this issue. On behalf of the PAL, we apologize for the people who are using our name in bad light.

read your post, and submitted one of my own.  I donate IN PERSON only by money order so as to keep my checking acct # between me and the bank only.  If I can't receive something by mail I don't donate.  Why is the PAL wasting their donated monies to hire telemarketers??  Use your many volunteers and use the saved cash for the kids!

received phone call while cooking dinner.  said they were counting on my donation this year as in past years. never donated to them before.  gave food and toys to local animal shelter at the holidays, as well as toys for tots.  I donot donate money over the phone, EVER.  
i asked for something to be sent to me in the mail and was told I couldn't get anything unless they were assured a donation. what's up with THAT?  I told them they called me, I didn't call them and hung up.

I was getting calls from this number 973-8214007 and no one ever speaks , i tried calling back and msg say its police academy fund service. Unbelievable, police academy and they do blank calls ?
I found thier main customer service "1800-2987216" , press Option 9 to Optout from list . I just did , hope will not receive any more calls . Posting this number with hope to help with all suffers

My father got this call and asked them how much of what they collected actually goes back to PAL and after ALOT of stalling the guy finally admitted that only about 21% or something went back....the rest was ADMINISTRATIVE. Do yourselves a favor and donate DIRECTLY to your local PD....the money will be put to much better use.

I just got a call from this number but I did not pick up and they did not leave a msg.  If this has truly been identified as a solicitation from PAL, then do not contribute.  A police officer told me that these are independent agencies hired to collect money and they are not the police - even if they say they are.  Whenever I answer these calls, I say No thankU or just hang up.
Besides, you pay the police with your tax dollars.

I received a call from this number and they asked for us by name.  I thought it sounded like a relative fooling around so I said that they had the wrong number.  The guy said oh ok sorry and thank you then hung up.  I called the number back and got a recording telling me it was a Police Athletic league.

They called me every day last week into this week & left messages on my voicemail. Claimed to be soliciting funds for PAL. Spoke to an actual person when I was home to answer the phone on Wednesday. The person on the other end seemed hesitant when speaking, ran through what seemed like a script (seriously said "we want the kids to pick up balls, not guns.") I told him he wasn't calling at a good time, I was feeding my infant child and couldn't help at this time, maybe next year. He actually asked if I could put my baby down to get my purse--"it's just a few minutes & the kids need you!" Um, my baby needs me more, sorry. I told him to remove my number from his call list and hung up on him.

No one is at the other end of the phonecall, but I'm on the no call list so I shouldn't get this.  It said "local call" on my telephone message dial.

According to our local PAL the PAL NEVER solicits over the phone.   SCAM.

Keep getting no-messages on ans. mach. from  this number. Hang-ups if no one answers. Annoying!

Just got a call from this number on my work phone direct line.  I kept saying, "Hello" but the caller remained silent. After about 39 seconds, the caller finally hung up.
