I got a call from this number at work.  They claimed to be TD Banknorth (which isn't even their name anymore) and said they had information regarding an account status change and needed to verify my identify with my address, mother's maiden name, or two other things that didn't make any sense.  When I said I was concerned that this was a scam, they just repeated that they needed to verify that info.  I declined to give any info and they said I could call them back at 877-733-5734, which according to this site is either Bank of America or another scam.  I called TD Bank Fraud Services and they said they wouldn't have called me from that number.  Oh yeah, I also don't have an account with TD Bank.

My phone rings daily showing this number, but they never leave a message.

I have never done business with Bank of America and got a call from that number. Has someone considered reporting it?

Got a call the ID said it was from NEWARK NJ but the message was from Card Services. A nasty message. I deleted it.

The call is from "Card Services". It is some kind of collection agency not to hard press the customer but to remind him/her his/her account is past due and must be paid at least minimum due to avoid more penalties.

Bank of America for one is sure to use these services. I wont be able to know more about if they have other banks using them. They are NOT BOA. BOA uses their services.

They wont mis-use your info but yes, calls like that definitely adds to the stress.

I got a call like 4 hours back. Now I called them back from Skype (no number for me) and tormented 2 difft collectors who kept on looking for that morsel they were about to get.

I just got a call from 973 848 5719. When I called back I was placed on hold after being told it was card services.  Got suspicious and googled the number and found this site.  There is something fishy about this number for sure.

received a call from 973-848-5719 said they were from card services and that they could help lower the interest rates on my credit card.  I asked which card they were with and they said they couldn't tell me.  They wanted me to give them my information and became upset when I told them that I wouldn't give them any of my information.  If they were calling from one of the banks I have cards through they should have my information.  They then hung up.

I got a call at 7:30 PM but no message left. When I called abck to check the number it was Card Services but no message left

I have been getting at least two calls a day.  The message they leave is just short and just say they are from "card services",  I have news for them, I am not behind on any of my credit cards, and I am sure not going to make a long distance call to them.  I blocked their number.

I got a call from this number yesterday and today, no msgs. Will post if I learn more.

Got a call from this number today. If they left an actual message, it must not have been picked up by my service because all I heard was an badly and barely audible automatic woman's voice recite these letters:

S (or was it F?) O N (she then says "dash") T A N W O L F (she says "dash") MA

That's it.

I received a call from 973 848-5719 several times.  There was an automated message to reduce CC interest rate.  I just hung up an didn't wait to explore the source of the call, figuring it wasn't worth my time.

If it was Bank of America their name would come up on caller ID.   I believe this is another no. for Portfolio Recovery Services.  A dirt bag of a collections agency who buys old depts that may be at least 15+ years old.

We got a call from this number the other day. When I dialed this number to see who it was, nothing.

This is a collection agency.  They probably collect for different creditors.  I don't answer calls from collections. I deal with the creditor directly.  Like many posts say, scams are out there. Use your common sense. Hope this helps

OKAY...I just got to the bottom of this. I called my FIA Card and they said they DO have automatic dialers making these types of calls. They confirmed that they DID try to call me and that this is probably legit. (I am a very skeptical person, and I was very surprised to hear this!) So, I guess "these jerks" are for real. No scam. That being said, I still would not give out any information unless I initiated the call.  If someone calls and asks for verification info before they can discuss any matter with you, then tell them you'll call back the number on the back of your card.

Hope this helps relieve some people's fears. There are so many scams out there. Beware!

This is a scam. These jerks have been calling me for days. Once the number showed up as CARD SVC but lately the calls have been coming in as UNKNOWN CALLER. They ask for me (so they have my name) and then they say that they're calling from Fidelity Card Services. They want me to give them my  Street Name and date of birth (not the year). They refuse to give me any information (for my own protection) unless I verify who I am. I told them to mail or email me the offer and they said it's not an offer and it's a matter of private concern. I let them know that if they can't tell me what it's about then not to call again. They said they will continue to call. Again. Jerks!

Those of you who think this is legit need your friggin heads checked.  It's not really Bank of America.  Let me tell you why.  I live in Indiana and there are no Bank of America banks anywhere near me, like not within 50 to 100 miles from me, not even a branch.  I have never had an account there, or a credit card of any kind and they called me wanting my account info so they could process a payment for me.  Yeah, sounds real legit now doesn't it.  People wonder why they get scammed, because they are willing to believe any damn thing instead of looking into something that doesn't sound right.

It's not legit.  I got this call too and I called Bank of America to find out what was going on as I have never had an account with them (There isn't one anyone near me).  They told me it was fraud and that they would report it as well.  Don't know who you talked to but not all the ppl you talk to are honest.  It took me a few days and a lot of phone calls to find out that it was bs.

I got a call from this number and it's not B of A it's FIA Card Services. They were calling because I was two days late on my credit card payment to Edward Jones due to a loss in the family and having to travel. They didn't ask for anything like a ss# just to verify my home address. It's not a scam! They also gave me a legit # to call them back at so I could have my late fee returned to me!

They call me constantly.  Never leave a message and just because I may owe them money is no reason for continuous harrassment.  Some of us are out of work and can't pay our bills.

This is a real company (Bank of America).
