Called twice in 4 hours on 08/10/2009.  The second time they asked me if I was ****insert male name who is the business owner***  clearly I am not a man.  I am wondering if they even hear the phone calls or are reading our responses on a screen.  I save these odd numbers in my phone and label them SCAM.  That way when they call back we know not to answer the call.

The phone number is obviously a fake; there was no ring tone when I tried to call back to find out who the caller was. Yes, label it SCAM.

trying to update my business phone info. when that happened told me about a web listing. i told him i didnt want it and did not wanted to have anything to do with them. he hung up on me. i have no doubt they will try to bill me after the "free trial" offer of the web listing runs out, even though I already told him no.

Got a call from a woman from this number today, she SPOKE SUPER FAST I could bearly understand what she was staying. After she gave me a so called "confirmation number" I told her I do not want the 14 days free trial period. She kept on emphasizing that they are trying to promote their business aka "scam", and won't bill customer if they are not "satisfied" with the web listing and call to cancel. I told her I do not want the free trial whatsoever because I know there will be hassles cancel their service. She said "ma'am, you don't have to if you don't want to, but it's free..blah blah blah" I told her "no, I just don't want it." She just hung up the phone on me.

Oh..forgot to say, I tried to call them back too to get their company info in case they bill me without my authorization. There was no ring tone...wtf...Number save in my phone as SCAM....

a man called trying to update my business phone info. free trial. i told him very politely no thank you but he kept pushing and i said again no we do not want it and then he said o so you are owner and you make the decisions and something about a cancellation fee and AGAIN i said no i am not but he has told me many times he does not want this and i have told many other of your callers that we want to be taken off the list and you still continue to call! and he got pissed and said very rudely OK so you pay then bills then! and i said yes i handle ALL of the bills for our company and he replied fine then you will be the one to get the cancellation fee and pay it so i responded (extreamly pissed off and annoyed) FINE then you can leave him a voicemail about it! ... but he didnt leave one of course! and i called back and there was no ring or anything just silence!!

BE AWARE. YOU CAN'T CALL TEHM BACK

Call from this number (no message left) just before home was burglarized.

Received a call from this number, they said they wanted to update my free online business listing. I have had so many of these calls lately. When I tried to be polite and tell him I was not comfortable giving him information, he said "Oh not to bright, huh" and I hung up on him. These people are driving me crazy!

I saw the number, 1-973-932-1791, on the caller ID, on my business phone. I never pick up a call from a 800-type number, but this wasn't an 800. However, when I picked up, it was obvious that it was a telemarter, because I could hear a lot of people on the phone in the background, and I realized that the person who was calling me was actually in conversation with another telemarketer, and I could hear him say, 'yeah, a real a****** and then he hung up on me after I said hello.

Could he have been talking about himself?? :)

Told him I wasn't interested... so he started to ask me questions that sounded like a recording was being made while he asked for my name, address, etc. I hung up the phone immediately. Called backed... silence, no ring. Googled the tel number and found this site. Definitely ID the number as a SCAM on my phones.

My phone rang and before I even said "hello" some woman was laughin very loud that she could even speak! She said she was calling to update my company's phone & address information! Not Only I was being recorded as she verified the information, but she was talking SUPER fast so I could not understand what I was about to agree to & then I herd "A fee will be charged to your telephone bill blah...blah...blah I hanged up, it's a scam! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO, HANG UP! This is the number they called from 973-932-1791

We are on the Missouri No Call list - and this is a number that is clearly some kind of telemarketing.

Answered and they hung up....Really some fbi investigations need to be done on all telemarketing companies.Does anyone know anybody that would buy from these crooks? I don't. Why would they call someone repeatly that wouldn't want their product or service? Money laundering biz ?...maybe.

Person called to verify business listing and asked for my birth date without the year and last name. After providing my birth month and day, when he asked for my last name I hung up.

They keep calling here to verfy our information but we do not verify anything over the phone and I tell them that at which point they hang up.  How can I get off their call list?

had a little problem with some guy who called. same as usually. he wanted to confirm some information with our company listing. i was the owner, but told him that the owner wasn't here to confirm anything and i will leave the confirming to the boss. he went off saying "sir why do you need your boss? all im doing is confirming your information." i told him to calm down and relax. from there on, he started using foul language and talking s***. I'd asked him what kind of company is he working for that allow him to use those kind of words. he just keep on talking s***. some words included "ill break your back, something something your mom, ill beat your a** lil boy." there was much more in between it... i was talking back at him of course. after the lil boy remark, i reply "ok lil girl." it was just funny how tough he was over the phone.

As I answered I heard a guy say "CA Department of BLANk......" and he just sat there. He was calling a Cal Fire number

no answer . has been calling every day for about two weeks

973 932 1791 called as the National Business Directory. Promptly hung on on the guy. We have been getting phone calls from various numbers all week from this and another number 888 288 7668 who does not even identify himself but just starts asking questions as what is the name of your business address etc. This joker is a real freaking prick and call and calls. I even told the guy that I would report these calls to the Do not Call list and the guy just laughed at myself.

Then told him to F_O and hung up the phone, the guy called right back again with the same line of questioning. I'm sure that these 2 numbers are related to the same company. Reporting this to the DNC (Do Not Call) seems to do little good.........

Will they ever ban these people from doing business over the phone.

Just got a call from 973-932-1791 I said hello..they sat there...I said hello.  They hung up, I called back and it wouldn't connect.

Received a call at about 10:25 am today from 973-932-1791.  When they started asking about changing billing information I made some very derogatory comments about them, their profession, and their mother.  I hung up.

The phone immediately rang back from 973-208-4094 and I was told by the same individual that "We will see how funny you are when I come to your house tonight with a shotgun and blow your head off...."  Apparently, he doesn't like comments about his mother.

Called acting like they were updating the business listing. They tryed to get me to say yes they asked a question are you over 17. While they were on the line i punched there phone number into 1-800. And started to tell them off. They hung up .

Has called close to 50 times this week alone, and this has been consistent since around september of last year (2008).  I am, and have always been, on the DNC list.   Every time they call, they ask for "the person in charge of purchasing".  When I say "I'm the one you need to talk to, they do one of two things:
(a) Hang up.  Odd.
(b) Start a sakes spiel about how their latest and greatest publication (I dont even remeber what it was abouit because they talk so FAST...) "will change" my "life"!  They then ask for my crdit card info, and when I refuse to hand it over, they hang up.  We need to been up the laws on thig for sure!!!

Has called numerous times during the week each time hanging up as soon as the phone is answered

I said hello, I guess he didn't here me and said hello, then hung up before I had a chance to say anything.

Caller stated she was calling to verify company name and owner info and she hung up while I was in the middle of explaining this was a residence. Tried to call back several times to ask that they remove my number from their calling list, but received dead air (no ring, no answer, nothing).

A commenter at http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/9739321791 stated that they received a call from this number just before their home was burglarized!

It also concerns me that some of the above comments mentioned that the caller stated indicated they would be billed through the phone company for some FREE internet listing service.

Possibly a scam to bill you for a service you did not request. Pay close attention to your bill and dispute any unauthorized charges. They must provide written or voice recorded proof of your authorization.
