I got a position through Artech with a major software company. There were 3 other agencies trying to get me for the position but Artech had the highest pay and the other agencies couldn't go higher. I should have went with another agency. I can't get paid by these people. It's bad enough they pay every 2 weeks but I can't even get one dime. I don't see how they stay in business

All they were doing was trying to give you a job. I worked with them in the good company most fortunate having a companies ask for your data birth year not necessary only month and day or last four of SSN in case you know you have a common name like Mike Smith or Dan Adams. This is also so they can prove that back she spoke with you and then just put your resume have a job board made a good choice Artech a great company to be lucky to work with them or oracle. Good luck on your job hunt
Be more open-minded the next time.:)

JUST GOT A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER AND THEY ALSO HAD A VERY STRONG INDIAN ACCENT. i AM LOOKING FOR A JOB IN ASTIN AND i ALSO JUST UPDATED MY RESUME IN MONSTER. I AM SO GLAD I CHECK THE WEB PRIOR TO ME CALLING THEM. AND REMEMBER NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER TO ANYONE ON TEH PHONE. A COMPANY WILL ONLY NEED THAT WHEN THEY HAVE YOU SIGN PAPERWORK AT THEIR HR OFFICE NOTT OVER THE PHONE

Dale, are you applying for a technical position? When you in a desktop support type position you run across a lot of confidential and client sensitive material, i.e. customer records. Security Clearance assures you are capable of confidentiality of mission critical data.

No kidding. Half these posts don't even make sense and seem like they are outsourced to India too. Most of them even look copy and pasted.

"Artech worst company"
"Artech no gave salary"

o_O They offered me a position working under HP for 24.00/hour in California. I will take ANYTHING at this time, even working for GeekSquad. So I am going through with the application process, and I will post here the full details. Also, I have an accountant that handles all my legal financial details. She gets flagged if anything changes in my credit. We shall also see if they are a "SCAM" like you all claim.

I just got a call and an email from Artech. The new number is now 973-967-3337 ext. 3337. The new name is Anupam Kumar, which is a slightly different spelling Annu Kumari, which he used a few years ago. His email is Anupam_Kumar@artechinfo.com.

What makes this scary is that this job offer requires a current Secret Clearance. My clearance however expired and needs to be renewed since clearances expire when you no longer work for the company that requires it. This makes me believe that there may be something more sinister about their recruitment. They did not ask me for my date of birth or Social Security Number. His accent was so ridiculously heavy that I could not understand him and had to ask him to repeat nearly every question. And I am used to working around Indians and understand the heavy accent usually.

The company represented itself to me as Artech Information Systems.

If you have that much issues with Indians, why are they invited in this country to work in the top most institutions? Does that mean this country has lack of talented people, and they need to uproot the Indians from their soil?

Lotus,

Please let us know the outcome, I also received an email and was wondering whether it was valid or not? I'm thinking, if someone or company is interested in hiring you, it should not be a mystery, they call or email you for an interview, etc. I never had to do a background check before I had the job. It would be a waste of time and money, especially if they do not hire you.

BEWARE! Fraud with-in Fraud: JASON (Above) is a fake post on the behalf of Artech, complete with the common earmarks of very poor grammar and word usage; just like the emails from Artech. This is also known as a fraud intercept post to falsely attempt to validate, or give credit to something that most people find suspicious. Add Shivali Singh at 973-967-3469 to the list of fraudulent contact information. Unfortunately, being an active Job seeking candidate on large boards such as career builder and monster requires a healthy level of professional skepticism and diligence to guard your identifying information.
Statistically, the odds show that birthdays are very good for you.

They are a legitimate company that only offers lowball rates. I politely asked to be removed from any correspondence with respect to their listings.

When this did not work I started to reply with very crude but creative responses to their inquiries and would bastardize their names if they called or emailed (I repeatedly called one of them Pugsley and another one Rimjob).

After they became offended did they finally acknowledge that they would not longer contact me.

They shouldn't need to do a background check until the hiring company is ready to give you an offer. If they want your SSN, it smells of Identity Theft to me.

Simple Rule: Don't respond to any email or phone call unless you initiated the communication. So if someone randomly contact you saying they got you resume from a job search site or claim you applied to them while you don't remember you did, DONT RESPOND!!

Did anything ever come of this offer for you?  Am currently working (thinking about) with them on a contract with IBM and have had rude recruiter (Bineeta Sharma 973-967-3332) I am working with.  Never had a recruiter not allow me to speak to the point I had to yell over her to get her attention.  I emailed the IBM person directly to apologize for not going to be able to accept and they confirmed they use Artech quite alot and have current people staffed.  I validated that IBM is a legit IBM employee so not sure what to think now!!

Well, after the minor vote of confidence posted above, I need to retract. They now have all my personal info and have have stalled on a start date for no reason. I will not longer be using any offshore staffing firms. This has been a really horrible experience. I"ve been an IT professional for 32 years and have been contracting for 20 of those years. I have never seen anything this bad.
