At approximately 11:08 AM on Tuesday March 29th, 2011 I received a call from this number. I saw the number displaying on my Caller ID and didn't answer it..

This is likely a spoofed number and totally bogus...

Thank goodness for Caller ID!

Though I don't known if there's any connection, yesterday (Monday March 28th) I received a call from a 899-109-5865 number - that is likely not a legitimate number either, and also totally bogus...

Whatever the case may be, do not under ANY circumstances give any personal information to any live person you may talk to - not now, not ever...

If these people were legitimate, they wouldn't have to use such tactics - ergo it's probably a scam of some kind...

I got a call also. I am wiser this time, so I googled 974-000-9875 and immediately,  I found hundreds of blogs about the same phone number. Thanks to you bloggers, I almost became a victim. Who knows if the caller will direct me to a foreign country's number and then get charged thousands of dollars of out of area calls? It's scary. Now, whenever my phone rings, I looked at my caller ID and if the number is not familiar, I just let the phone ring and ring. I am also in the no-call list, but apparently, it is not helping.

Received a call regarding lower interest rates on a credit card.  When asked who the company was, the caller hung up.  Unsettling as we were just a victim of identity theft.

My phone shows "UNAVAILABLE" and then this number.  Has to be a scam.  No message.
Has called only once and will NEVER be answered.

Low life, no ethics scammers!
Do not dial "9" or try to call back.....just hang up or put the receiver down until they hang up.

I dialed the #9 to get off their list.  Called me a "w***e" when I said I was on the "Do Not Call" list and didn't have credit cards.

Yah, bummer. I checked around on the other Who called me site, and no one has a name yet.  Didnt answer my call either.  Pretty much knew it was bogus with that 000 part.

I pressed 9, someone named Paul answered, and he asked me if I was wanting to sign up for their services for lower interest rates..  I said "Actually, I wanted to ask if you could please remove my number from your calling list"...  and then...  CLICK!  The b*****d hung up on me.

I tried calling the number back, and got "The number you have dialed is not in service".......

They are doing phone spoofing, and they have no ethics.  Next time they call you, act like you're interested in their services, and then act like something just came up (someone at the door-- something), and ask for their direct contact info...  Then post it please so we can bust these no-ethics-b*****ds.
