Annoying debt reduction scam. Will not stop calling. I've been on the do-not-call list for less than 31 days and can't yet complain.

Received a call from a John Phillips 800-374-1414 about the county bail out section 408 it didn't make sense to me because all I could think of were ERISA laws and retirement accounts. I called and it is defiantly a scam of sorts. I asked specific questions and he couldn't answer he then hung up on me

Yet again I got a message from them about a bail out program. This is the third call from this number. Eight calls already from the 978 area code.

Got the same message. Did not call back. Hope this is not one of the reasons my borrower did not refinance

John Phillips with section 408 something about in my county about a bail out program but he MUST HEAR FROM ME TODAY. Call him at 978-570-2201
Last chance Charlie 2009-06-18 14:19:15 Unknown
That always makes me laugh. "Must call today! This is your last chance!"
Until they call again tomorrow, and the next day, and the week after that, etc...

I know enough about marketing by phone that this is an illegal call. They give you no way to opt out, a button to push or number to call. There is no way I am going to reply by pushing a button for more information, I have all I need.
Tim 2009-06-15 18:57:25 Telemarketer
They left a voice message. If telemarketing is a numbers game and they only get 1% positive results, I am of the 99% that don't want anything from these people.

correction. They need an edit button to our statements.

That's the same call I got today. There is apparently no limit to their imagination when inventing fake gov programs they are supposedly offering. My favorite is still the government bank stress test program, that would supposedly give our business a loan, haha. I got that call a while ago from this same number, but they left a different 800 # to call back (800.461.7054). Now they want you to call 800.374.1414
If you're a small business, watch out for these guys or they could likely send you into bankruptcy. Usually these loan scams are not loans at all, and all you will get is a bill for thousands of dollars in fake services they've supposedly provided you.
I hope the people working for these criminals get a double-dose of karma. They complain about not having a better job option and yet are helping to shut down small businesses every day. Dumb-da-dumb-dumb!

I got a call from this number, when I ask them no to call back again, they hung up on me. Does any of you have a way to stop this number?
Thanks
princealbertinthecan 2009-06-02 21:55:14 Unknown
firstcall might be a calling card provider - could be a scammer hiding behind it, or even a wrong number. who knows, but they can just keep calling my fax machine if that makes them happy!

I got a call saying my county had been selected to participate in debt restructuring. when I got a live person and asked to not be called again, they hung up on me.
Calling back, I simply got a recording saying the vm box was full and to hold for assistance. I stayed on for approx 15 mins of the same annoying recording, no person ever picked up.

I get a call from this number once in the morning and once in the afternoon. It is a recorded message that drives me NUTS!. Of course the call comes when I am on an important call with a customer or in the middle of something important. I am sick of it, if whatever they have to say is not important enough to have a human speak with me instead of a recorded voice then whatever it is they have to say I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR IT!
