Called but let go to answering machine but left no message.
These pests have been persistent over the past few weeks.

Obviously the called id # is not correct. Answered the phone and said nothing. A voice asked for me by name. I asked who was calling and the bi*** refused to say anything else. Definitely a call center given I could here all kinds of chatter in the background. Phony # used by scammers.

We constantly get calls from this number and when we answer (many times we don't), the caller hangs up. Like others, we tried to call the number back and received the same 'no longer in service' message. We live on the south shore which is not in that area code.

If I wanted my chimney cleaned I'd call someone. I don't need some jerk  like you calling my house. Your confused because you're a moron. Your license should be revoked for being stupid. Calling people and hanging up isn't smart business practice. You may be entitled to run a business but your not entitled to aggravate people because you don't want to pay to advertise.

Call from 978-664-5909 today.  Could hear someone on other end, but no direct response.
Called back and just like others have said, got 'number out of service' message.
Have received other calls from chimney cleaning companies (maybe even this same one) in the past and told them (truthfully) that I don't have a chimney.
Doesn't seem to work, they still call back on occasion. Maybe they think I've now acquired a chimney.
Anyway, the whole process is upsetting.  I'll have to check to see if my phone has a blocked call list ability.

I just received a call from (978) 664-5909. Because I have a commercial telephone system here at home,  I was able to monitor the call while the auto attendant was answering.

The caller disconnected during the greeting.

If the caller is a telemarketer calling on behalf of Diamond Duct Chimney,  then DDC should realize that the contracted company is angering people....and driving away potential customers by:

1) Using a spoofed calling telephone number.
2) Not responding to answering machines.
3) Not abiding by the Do Not Call list.

From North Reading, MA but the number is spoofed (the practice of causing the telephone network to indicate to the receiver of a call that the originator of the call is a station other than the true originating station).  I didn't pick up but when I tried calling back with caller ID blocked, the number was out of service.

Did you know that I had these guys clean my chimney and they said that I need a NEW chimney redo, because it crook it,it not straighten.They broke the chimney and redo it.It costed me $5000 ! They also said that there alot of shingles missing on the roof.They redo the whole  NEW damn ROOF! THAT COSTED  ME $10,000!  WATCH OUT WITH THESE GUYS!!!   I DON'T KNOW IF IT THESE GUYS FROM THE SAME COMPANY,BUT ANYWAY WATCH OUT!!!!!!! AFTER ONE MONTH ,I GOT LAYOFF AND BECAME BROKE!

Called early this morning (Saturday) - rang 4 times and then they hung up.

Called in the early afternoon. Said they were with "the chimney service" but didn't identify themselves. Couldn't pronounce my name, so I hung up.

I also rec'd. the same phone call from 978 664-5909..pick up the phone say hello.....then a hang up.  I call back and I get the same message 'the # you have dialed is out of service

"As far as I know, that is proper etiquette."--Ah...I don't think so.  It isn't polite or decent to call homes and hang-up disturbing folks and creating fear, particularly amongst females, as to what is going on.  (It is probably illegal, too.)

I've told you several times to stop calling.  Now that I know you're using the disconnected North Reading number to mislead me, I'll be call Attorney General Coakley's consumer protection office.  Maybe they'll be able to more clearly explain to you what you don't seem to understand.

I am very confused at your posting. We are a licensed and insured home improvement/chimney cleaning/rebuilding company. I'm sure what it is you are trying to slow down.  We are able to offer the basic cleaning and inspection of a residential chimney at a reduced rate if we can schedule bulk appointments in the same area. Thus creating a group rate for homeowners in the area. When we are able to save on gas, laborers and general overhead cost by keeping our trucks and service men in the same area, we can then pass that savings down to the homeowners.  It benefits both the company and the homeowner in that you receive the discount and we save on our overhead and create new business for the company.  Isn't that the way most companies do business.  Aren't we like any other company entitled to run and business, make a profit and extend discounts to homeowners. Isn't that the way the business you work for operates? As far as I know, that is proper business etiquette.  If what you're saying is so, than I guess every small business owner should be out of business, workers unemployed and collecting unemployment off tax payers such as yourself.

Another call from 978-664-5909 this AM around 11:30 am. Did not recognize # on caller ID so did not pick up. No vmail left as such, but did notice a recorded "message" It turned out to be an "open line" so to speak. No one left a message but there was all kinds of background noise and talk, mostly unintelligible but I did hear "chimney" mentioned. Sounded like a boiler room operation to me.

In fact.... It is not a collection company but an underhanded company that claims to perform chimney sweeps.
There are 2 numbers that they can be reached at.
Not the incoming call number. That number claims that it is either disconnected or no longer in service.
You can call 508-217-1954 or 1-800-572-7090. I randomly asked to speak with Kathy. Turns out there is a Kathy that works there. Told her my husband made an appointment for chimney cleaning but couldn't remember the date.
As some if the other folks have mentioned... Turn the tables on them and set up a fake apptointment at another location. If enough people do this, perhaps it will slow them down. Good luck

I got a call from this number today, 1/27/14 @ 5:28 PM.  I picked up and said "hello" several times--no response.  I hung up.

Got a call from this number this morning. No one answered when I said hello. I could hear voices and typing in the background. It must be a call center looking for valid numbers. I am in southern Mass, not in the 978 area code.

they called me today and my machine picked up , no message , I called back and yes same as you people... out of service

It could be someone checking to see if you are home in order to break in

or just a fluke, sometimes they give old numbers out to new cell phones

Received a call at 9:15am on MLK day...I could hear in the background a woman say "what we do is clean out the flue and chimney" but no one actually spoke to me, They then hung up. Sounds like a small call center operation that just keeps dialing but if someone answers and wants to talk the other outgoing call is just hung up on.
