Just got a call from this number. I knew it was a scam right off because the caller ID said wireless caller and when I answered, the girl on the other end was talking to someone else, presumably a friend who was in on this scam, before she asked to speak to the head of the house.

Comcast    has   never    shown     as    Wireless   Caller  ,   but   it    does   now .

It came up on my id the same as wireless caller and this  number 978-848-5001. I didn't answer since I didn't know the person calling.

My phone just rang with this number and "WIRELESS CALLER" in the caller ID. I let it ring. No message was left.

It seems unlikely that Comcast would have an anonymous caller ID. Sounds like an impersonator to me.

Whether this number belongs to Comcast or not, it's still SPAMMING us.  Today for some reason it came up "Wireless Caller" instead of "Comcast" but this number has been in our block list forever now.

Sorry. Ran out of space. Our calls from this number are usually on a weekend, not during the week. LOVE the person that invented caller ID. It has been a lifesaver for it has kept me from going insane with the relentless number of unwanted phone calls received daily. I used to write them all down and then google them in posts like this one, until I realized that was giving them TOO MUCH power by wasting so much time looking them up. Gives me tremendous pleasure to see a # I don't know on caller ID and NOT ANSWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just received another call from this number. Read all 5 pages of posts, however noticed that some of the posts dated back to 2007. With so many numbers being re-assigned due to to shortage of availability, is there a possibility that this # no longer belongs to Comcast? NO I'M NOT afiliated with comcast and THEY ANNOY the daylights (being polite) out of me as well. What I FIND interesting is that you can get FREE information on the # on White Pages WHICH then sends you to checkmate for a FEE, Then they go on to WARN you of the graphic information that you're about to receive and to use it responsibly!!!!!!!!! Free unlimited Phone numbers look-ups for 5 days, HOWEVER you must call an 800 # to cancel or it will cost you $23+? for 30 days at a time UNTIL you cancel by calling. Of course they have your credit card #. In our instance I tend to lean towards the # being re-assigned because we unfortunately know someone In the area (Lowell) that has a rather self-destructive unsavory life style and tries to contact acquaintances when she needs something!!!

Calls once or twice a day for a few weeks now - never leaves a message. Really getting tired of it.

I've been called 4x a week for over three years.  I added the number to my cell phone directory, named it "Junk", and now when my caller ID says "Junk" I know not to answer it.  There is no way to get rid of the calls.  Nothing works.  Shame on Comcast!

Legitimate, but very annoying nonetheless.

Comcast sales.  They wanted to sell me an upgrade.  They had all my customer information that only Comcast would have and they did not ask me for any information that would lead to fraud.  This is ligitimate.

Rang twice then hung up.  

If it was comcast, I would have like to have talked to them, though I haven't watched TV in over ten years and not about to start, they often offer me deals where I can spend less for internet plus TV than I do for internet only.

COMCRAP...I never answer. I refuse to pay COMCRAP one cent more for any additional services, no matter how 'cheap' they say it is. Its highway robbery to make people pay for multiple services that come through the same cable line!

978-848-5001 has called about five times in the past month and never leaves a message.  It could very well be Comcast as they have done a recent installation in the neighborhood.

I just tried calling it back and got an annoying high pitch squeel then it said that all circuits were busy. I don't have Comcast and its not offered where I live.

This number just called my cell phone around lunch time and it was absolutely silent for 22 seconds, then they hung up.

I don't answer numbers on my cellphone that I don't recognize.  If they don't leave a message and call back again, I Google their number, hence my arrive at this site.
I am a Comcast customer but this sounds like a serious scam so I'll continue ignoring their calls.

Them; Comcast Sales..........(other babble) If you wish to have your number removed leave you name and the number. It could take up to 30 days before this process is complete and you may get other sales calls.

Me: my name is Sandra...(last name) my numbet is 000-000-0000. Please have this number put on the "do not call" list. It should not take 30 days to process. It should take as long as it would for you to terminate my service if my bill is not paid...less then 24 hours!. Thank you, goodbye......

Recieved a call from 978-848-5001 on 3/9/2012 and didn't answer.  No message left.  Put it in my phone as, "do not answer."

They left a message on my phone. She said her name was cathy

These sub-humanoids repeatedly call my cell phone and don't leave a message. My telephone's voice identifies the call as originating in Lowell, MA, from a land line registered to Comcast Corp. A phone app identifies the person on the other end of the connection as 'auto/robo'. This means the called is made by a computer calling system using a sequential number program to 'auto' or 'robo/robot' my number with a voice recognition system to detect if some actually answers the call so it can then be routed to a sales rep. The phone asks me if I would like the caller blocked and voila..... no more calls from Comcast........ at least from that telephone number. Thank goodness that technology is now able to weed out the weeds.
