Fake Short Term or Payday Loan Scam

Calls from the following area codes and numbers have all been reported to be scammers. These scammers use phony number and names to attempt to get potential victims to send in money on fake loans that appear to be from legitimate sources.

713-931-3690, 713-931-3641, 713-936-3424, 713-893-1051
512-686-4244
210-401-3930, 979-639-7900, 779-400-0010, 817-400-1316

The names vary each time. These fraudsters have committed company identify theft against a Federal Credit Union.

Consumers targeted by the scam typically are looking for a payday or short term loan and search the Internet for assistance. They voluntarily place their personal information on these independent sites (not recommended) and then receive an email from one of the aliases. They say that you have been approved for a short term loan that is affiliated with companies that the scammer has no association with whatsoever.

Consumers who respond by telephone to the offer are then told that in order to receive the loan, they have to pay for either an upfront fee, taxes owed, processing fee, etc., in the form of a MoneyPak or Pre-paid credit card including Vanilla Network cards. Do not pay any upfront fees and hang up on them.

Total scam. You've lost your money but you can protect yourself in the future. No reputable company will lend you money over the phone. Up front fees are illegal in most US states.

See: http://www.consumerfraudreporting.org/LoanScams.php

Report them to police and local attorney general.

I had the same call by a man who says his name is Roy cooper. He claims I need to go to a cub food branch and get a card called reload it card so he can verify that I am able to make my monthly payments. DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!!! ITS A SCAM TO GET YOUR MONEY. After hanging up with Mr so called cooper, I did a search for cash net usa and called them. They said this is not us and we never ask for any money upfront. They only verify your income and your employer then they will deposit the funds in your account and tell you when your first payment is due. Also, they send you electronic papers to sign in your email after you are aproved.

Scam 904-677-0685 i was emailed regarding USA payday loan. I was contacted and told I was approved for a $1500 loan. I was told that I needed to purchase a Vanillla Network Voucher card and deposit $110.00 on the card this was to verify that I would be able to make my monthly payments. I was assured over and over again that this was not a payment and that they would not take this money off my card. I was to call and give them the activation number and as soon as they verified that I had deposited the money on the card they would deposit $1500 in my checking account within 30-45 minutes. I could then go and use my card for purchases. When a hour was up and I hadn't heard from them telling me the money had been deposited in my account, they said the man Eric Jackson I talked to would call me in 10 minutes. he called 20 minutes later and said someone would call. I got a call form a gentlemen saying there was some problem with the IRS that I owed some taxes or something and they could not process my loan at this time until I paid the IRS taxes I assured him I didn't owe nor I was going to pay. I had seen on the back of the Money card warning of this scam unfortunately after I had gave them my card number. I called the Money card number on Back card and reported the fraud and theft. I told USA payday loans they need to put my money back on my card because I did not authorize them to take it off and they assured me numerous times they would not. Money Card is putting a trace on who took my money off my card and I will be filing a criminal complaint tomorrow at my local police station for fraud and theft. This happened at 3/10/2014.

If you?re interested in sending someone some money to flip and they take your money and laugh in your face call: (702) 278-9170. The scheme of it is, she makes it as if she?s pretty much doing something illegal and you?ve got to be careful about it. I.E:If you?re going to continue to do it, get different debit cards every time because it won?t look like a glitch on the same card multiple times. Get a MyVanilla/GreenDot card. Upload the money on to it. Send her your info, and she?ll send you hers. All of the money will be sent to you and you send her cut. Her ?name? is Ashley Hunter Reno, NV. Her name, phone number, and address may change but the fact that this is a scam, will not. Whoever you deal with, the entire process will be the exact same. Hope I save someone trying to do this.

I also received the same call earlier and end up paying $500 and got no loan when money was tight. later a month got the call and this time i was scared of loosing my hard earned money and the need was also important.
i got the call from Cash Advance 646 820 4266 and a guy told me i am approved he completed the application with me for about 25 mins over the phone and required me to pay my first installment of 250 which i refused to. i asked many questions and he answered and last 230 was left so i borrowed 20 from my friend and paid thinking may be i get it this time. it was a gamble i did.
suddenly my phone rings and he asks to check the account and believe me i was so happy to receive my loan in just 2 hrs. my happiness was at the greatest extent and i blessed that gentle man.

I was very leery of this and wasn't about to do anything without checking for a SCAM first and I'm glad I did follow my gut. He's calling from a 202-241-3386 phone number.

I was also scammed by Mike Robinson. It happened today and I'm going all routes possible to make people aware of the situation. He told me that his boss's name was "Mark Watson", which I find funny because one of the original FAKE comments was from something-Watson. It began with an email from fastcashloanservices@gmail.com. I unfortunately was desperate for the money and contacted the number for more information. While it seemed legit, the voice (Arab or some variance) did not match the name "Mike Robinson" - sorry for the stereotype. Attached to my email was a loan agreement that also seemed legit with the website "fastcash.org". AFTER being scammed, I went to the website and one of the first statements on the Contact page says to be aware of fraudulent activity from people using their loan name. They also only approved up to $1000 when my loan was offered for $5000. The number on the email was (830)612-8872 and his "direct" number was (830)612-8870. After loading the $500 to the GreenDot MoneyPak card, he asked for the number on the back - which I stupidly gave to him. After my desperation went away, I noticed right below the number I read off it said NEVER give the number to anybody. After he received the $500 he said there was a "problem" with the deposit and the local and federal authorities would not allow them to deposit the money due to me being on a "black list" as a defaulter. Again, it seemed legit because my credit is crap. The total taxes I had to pay was $776.00 and he would request his company to pay half and if I paid the other half, this would not be associated with my social security number. After realizing it was a scam, I asked for an address. The one he provided, which I'm sure is bogus, was 2011 Northeastern St. Medina, TX. I'm hoping I've put enough keywords in this so the next person can type it into google - hopefully before they are scammed - and be able to obtain this information. My fear is that they do have my social and bank account information and I'm not aware of how or where they obtained it. Another reason it seemed legit is because he was just having me verify the information he already had. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be aware of this scam and share this and every other story with any and everyone you come in contact with. This being close to tax time, there's no telling how many people are about to be had. The other legitimacy I came up with in my head is that I had just applied for two loan applications online - one I had seen on TV for loanup.com and one that had been referred from a friend at the Tennessee Credit Union website. I just put the loanup.com address into my work computer and it did not allow me to visit the website due to Scam/Illegal activities so I'm sure this is where all this trouble has come from. I hate myself for it and hope that someone else learns from my mistake. Thanks for your time.

If you give them the number on the vannilla pack they can remove all of the money from it and there is nothing you can do about it, because its like you gave them authorization to the money. It tells you not to give anyone that number.. Plus nobody has to show that they have money to get a loan except proof of employment or income
