If you really want to stop these people, complain OFFICIALLY to the Florida Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs. Contact Monica Brown of their Telemarketing Dept at Monica.Brown@freshfromflorida.com and/or go to the website www.800helpFLA.com and use the online complaint form. Be as specific as possible. Name Michael Hilgar and Elite Information Solutions and say that his company is making direct sales solicitations in violation of Florida law in addition to violating Federal law (you can make that complain to the FCC). Unbelievably when I spoke with Monica she told me NO ONE had yet made a formal complaint against this company. I did. Now YOU need to do as well so we can put these people behind bars. Michael Hilgar IS a criminal and known con artist. Just look up his record. He has gone from one scam (roofing and stucco) to another. WE need to stop him.

They just called me and tried the same thing on the phone. I tried to explain that I'm a contractor and that my home is plenty up to date with efficiency. Matt just kept going on and on.  Had to hang up on him.

Same thing- would love for them to come out and catch them.

15 minutes ago. Man calling himself Rick, says that they will be in our neighborhood this Thursday, to see if homeowners are qualifying for the $3500 rebate. (There is no "USA Electric" listed in business in this area. Took more than one question to get a specific answer to "Are you a government employee or agency?" The first answer was "Yes, we are a United States electric company."  ....Scam tactics.

So they're reaching up into NC now... if you know anyone in New Jersey, let them know. They switch states when things get too heated in one area. They're a scam company called Elite Information Solutions. They call from Casselberry, Fl. to set up appointments with an energy evaluator, which is some guy who tells you the only way you can save electricity is with a solar water heater for $12,000. Not even kidding. I was one of the callers for like three days. I quit when I looked it up, because they wouldn't tell us anything about the tech visits. Someone scheduled it, and they had a guy trying to sell them crap for like two hours or more. Homeboy wouldn't leave. Dude was all "If you want this rebate, blahdeegookus..." and they were all "It doesn't make sense!! Why would I spend $12,000 to get less than a third of that back?" and he was all "Urgh!!1 math i hate you i drink your milkshake" and yeah... Obviously, that was a dramatization, but you get the point. It's an attempt at a high pressure sales situation... in the comfort of your own home.

Also got a call from this number. Very quick and not much information provided by the company. I tried to call back the number(which came up as a cell phone on my caller ID) and got a message that "the number I am trying to call is unreachable, code PPS6180"  not sure what that means.
I called the Charlotte BBB they had no record but did take down the number. BE ALERT! With time as tough as they are please help put those that would take advantage of others to the attention of your friends and neighbors.

This was a phone call saying there is a government rebate of up to $3500 to save on my electrical costs at my residence. They offered to make an appointment for a FREE evaluation to determine if I would qualify for the government rebate.  They were short on details and very pushy.  I'm sure it's a scam.  If it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true.
