Like a couple of other posters, Got a text from the above number & winning $1000 gift card from Target..it says go to http://TargetPrizes.com/ and enter 4787 code to claim.

I got the same message at 1:42 am... I would like to know how these people get our numbers...

I got the same message from 985-259-1078 for a 1000 gift card

Got the same message as mentioned in previous comments.  Mine actually woke me up at 7:30am.  I knew it was a scam because I don't enter random contests.  Sad when these things can come right into your home & invade your privacy.

Got this text at 6 in the morning... thought it may have been legit because I had just done one of their customer surveys last night. But, yeah, the site is whack and not affiliated with Target at all.

Other posters report they have had success in forwarding these illegal texts to 7726. They are picked up by your cell phone carrier who will ask you to send them the phone number so they can investigate and have spam filters installed to block the texts. I typed targetprizes scam into google before even going to targetprizes.com. Ironically, this site gave a more accurate representation than the actual website would have, had there BEEN a website...because when I typed targetprizes.com, it said NO SITE AVAILABLE.  Text message came through at 2:53AM!, (985) 718-9913

I got this today as well, and deleted it before reading here about the agreement with the mobile number providers to FINALLY take some responsibility for reporting these spam texts, instead of continuing to charge their customers who get these unwanted texts. I fought with T-Mobile about these SMS spams and always managed to get credit when I had a pay as you go plan. However, my mobile plan for the past 4 years has had unlimited SMS with my plan, so it didn't matter anymore. Still, it's good to know we can finally fight back.
