Same garbage here about Craigslist items for sale. These people are scammers and passing phony money besides the scam they are doing. Using magic jack or similar program to mask their numbers. I have a friend in Texas who says this is a scamming psychic family doing all types of scams. Google psychic scams in Dallas, Texas.

There is a recent add on craigs list that says cleaner needed (USA) it is the same people but there is another phone number they use also i will  list both 732-703-7539 and 985-267-9024 . They say text only they are a busy company that can not answer phone calls. immediatly after texting the first number they wanted my address to send a check so i could pay there painter gave me no info on where the home was or who they where but was ready to send check so i looked on here and thank you everybody for all the info provided

I also got a text immediately after i posted on craigslist. Googled the number an it brought me here. Thanks peeps. You saved me alot of trouble by prompting me away from the scammer

Offering extra $50, wanting to send a certified check. Believe this is a scam

I got a delightful pushy text from "John" and gave me orders to send name, address etc. I was selling collector plates and he claimed they were for his wife. He offered the typical $30.00 bonus and we agreed on $130, I said send me a check and I will ship you the item. I received a check for $2000 for some $100 plates. This guy is a joke, beware.

Beware ...its a scammer .....exact same mo for my craigslist sale ....posted july 13    respond right away ......diwasnt concerned with price or shipping ......total bs  BEWARE

I was trying to sell a computer desk on craigslist and "John" text me from this number YESTERDAY and tried to make me send my personal information like name and address to him so he could send out my "certified check ASAP" he said he would take care of all the shipping charges and send me an extra $30 for holding the item for him and he wouldn't pick it up until I had the money in my hand.
He was very pushy and kept texting and saying "send me information now so I can forward to my secretary and get your money to you asap".  When we tried to call the number it had a voicemail set up to where he wasn't taking calls. I later text him and said "how am I supposed to talk to you on the phone like we agreed earlier if your not answering your calls?" He said "I'm deaf and don't pick my calls".
When I explained why I wanted to talk to him like wanting to know who was the carrier, how long to hold it, how was it getting shipped to him,etc... he quickly text me back and said "don't worry about all that, send me details now!"  Of course I knew this was a scam and told him that I don't take orders from anyone and forget it if I can't talk to someone first. So, be aware of this number because he's still trying to scam!

Craigslist scammer offering $30 more to hold the item and wants your personal information to send you a certified check and they will arrange for pickup at a later time.

same thing here.    had a kayak on craigslist...texted me and offered extra $30.....   I said fine,  your shipper can pick it up after the check clears.    i don't think I will hear from them again.   Wish I would have checked here first though.   I gave them a mailing address, but it is a UPS store so the jokes on them if they are stupid enough to spend the money to send a fake check.

Same person JUST texted me with a similar message about sending a certified check and having someone pick up some items. Mentioned they were "busy because of work" so they needed to arrange for a pick up and that they would not pick up calls. Scammer and phishing scheme.

I live in CA, seems this guy is trying to scam in several locations.....

Got a message tonight but it was from a " Anfrea Jones" with the same exact message of $30 over the asking price!

Offered something on Craigs list and got a "bite" from this same phone number.  My son placed the ad for me and then googled the number before we did anything.  Thanks everyone who posted on here and gave us heads up.

I told my son that I would only accept cash anyway...no checks.  This is what prompted him to google the number...just checking this person out.

This is used by a Craigslist scammer.  The scam is they will send you a check or money order via UPS (so they will not deliver to a P.O. Box).  The check is, of course, fake/bad/whatever.  The plan is for you to deposit the check, send them money, and when the check finally bounces you're left holding the bag so to speak.
Also, you could be on the hook for fee for bouncing a check as well.

It's amazing how many people fall for this (a lot must or it wouldn't be so common).  People turn their brains of when somebody dangles the promise of a little money in front of them.

Had the same experience, Pina Jones wants my craigslist item sight unseen and will overnight a certified check and arrange for pickup. Even said they would add $30.00 to asking price to hold it for them until I get the "CHECK".  An obvious scam, to which I responded,  bring cash when you pick up the item, I don't take checks. Also asked for personal info.  This is phishing....don't fall for it.

Individual named Pina Jones wants to overnight me a certified check of some sort and buy my craigslist offering sight unseen. Says a local pick-up of my item will occur after my "check" clears. Very interesting, but a scam. I've heard that later these kinds of checks will be found to be fraudulent in some way and I would then be liable for it.
