I, too, received a call from this number which caller ID showed as Ponchatoula, LA.  At first I thought it might be some of my husband's family as they are from New Orleans, but no one would say anything when I answered the phone.  I then Googled the number and found this info.  I had the exact same call from an 800 # last week but that time the person said the same things that others have reported here.  An Indian male who claimed his name was Jack Roger.  I laughed at him when he said that.  I told him I  had never heard of an Indian man with such a name!  He got very offended but tried to change the subject back to the stupid stuff he was saying about my computer being infected with a virus.  The sad part is, my computer did become infected by a worm the previous week due to an email that was sent to my MyYahoo email address purporting to be from the court regarding my upcoming jury duty.  My computer is still not working right.  The number last week was 800-685-8621.  I reported it to the FTC.  I only got that number because I told the guy I would have to call him back.  He kept trying to pin me down as to when I would call him.  I would not give him an answer.

These people called my grandmother today. My grandmother told them that only I managed their computer and they would have to call me. She gave them my cell phone number and sure enough, they called me before she could and started talking to me !!! Definitely a scam.

This number has called several times and I've never answered up until now.  When I answered he asked for me by my last name, my response was to get him (a man with a heavy middle eastern accent) to identify himself. As soon as I said "whose calling" he hung up.

Just got a call from a man wanting to know if I had a computer (his accent suggests that he is from India but the call as made from Hammond, LA  # 985-486-0482.   I do have a desktop computer and two laptops.  He said someone from my household was using Windows.  I told him it must have been my daughter and that she wasn't home.  He plans on calling back and I plan on telling him I'm on to his scheme and will report this online like all the others that have been called have done.

Received a call from "Jacob" who said he was calling because they got an alert from my computer about an error message that needed to be corrected.  Asked me to punch in a few lines to my internet.  I immediately knew it was a scam because I could hardly understand "Jacob" because his Indian accent was soooooooooooo thick.  I wish I could've stayed a little longer to see what kind of scam he was trying to pull, but I couldn't make out any of the words I had to hang up.  Call rang up out of Hammond LA.  When I called back I got a fast busy.

Got the same phone call as everybody else on this thread has received. This is the second time this week I have received this phone call. Different numbers, same agenda. Trying to see if there is anybody to report this to. Elderly people need to be warned about this, I can see how they would easily be roped into believing this.

I'm a personal care giver for a couple 80+ and a Indian man called with a strong accent claiming my clients computer had to have a new soft wear on it, and their computer was sending signals to him. So I decided to have some fun with him, and ask some questions and he got fed up and hung up. Turns out they don't have a computer and never have.

I got the same phone call from a heavily Indian accented man who claimed that he got a message that I have unwanted files on my computer and they need to be fixed right away. He told me that he could take over my computer to remove the files. I asked him repeatedly, how doe he know I have unwanted files. To that he replied that everybody has unwanted files if they use the internet. He told me that he was in Las Vegas and the name of his company is PC Speedy. He finally hung up on me.

This obnoxous caller from some idiotic pc support group, which I presume does not exist, keeps calling; this time I talked to him and finally hung up.  He calls back, I ask him what country he is calling from,  he says South Africia and I don't like South Africians, I try to explain to him that I like all countries and their people, he calls my suspicious, and then says "I hate Americans, I hate Americans, I hate Americans."  This company should be traced.  After a Google search, I find the number is coming from Louisiana.  Should this company not be investigated for harassment through the Federal Communications Commission?

My husband got the same call yesterday and the same man with a heavy East Indian accent tried to tell me that he was associated with Microsoft.  And I'm a size 7!!  He told me that we had opened an infected file and he would fix it for us.  Told him I'd live with it and without him!!!  This type of call could reel in a lot of people who are not aware of this type of scam.  Since he referred to Microsoft, he probably thought that would reassure us that he was legit.  Sure.

This guy with heavy Indian accent calls and tells me he's from AskTech and all about these files that corrupt my computer when I access info on the internet.  This caller also appeared on my Caller ID as being from Pontchatoula, LA.  I put him on for a long time and then told him I'd have to get back with them as he caught me at a bad time.  Said his name was Mark Wilson (ha ha) and told me their web site is:  AskTechHelpLine.com  which does seem to exist but who knows if they are really connected to AskTechHelpLine.com   If I had stayed on longer I'm sure this guy would have wanted to access my computer "remotely" to help me with ALL my problems....which I WOULD NEVER DO!!!!  Oh yeah, he was trying to get me to click on my WINDOWS KEY & R at the same time to bring up the RUN MENU and wanted me to type in, EVENT VIEWER so that I would be able to see all the programs accessing my computer....blah, blah, blah....hope this helps someone else and if it was legit, I would have to call them and know who really was on the other end of the line.

Male person who called himself Ronnie, had a heavy Indian accent.  He stated he was with Ask Tech Helpline and was contacting me because my computer was hacked and I was being watched by horrible people using my computer to spy inside my home.  I don't have a windows computer and my camera is disabled and also covered so no one can see anything inside my home.  It is a complete scam - do not fall prey to this fraud driver loser.
