I received a call from this number, but did not answer... no message  was left.

989-671-5208 left a message saying good news about previous discussion on lower credit card interest rates. no such discussion occured. phishing?

I have never signed up for this, and it is an act of congress to find out whos number it was. How I got on their phone list I will never know

Just got a call from 989-671-5208.  It is Charter.  They make this call before your scheduled service call.  At least this is what my call was about!

This is just poor customer management, if they have a system that automatically dials customers numbers and leaves them scrambling to find who called them at 9.00 pm in the night.

Just got a call from this number, actually twice now in 3 days.  Just had Charter installed, reflects poorly on them for not leaving a message.  I'm not a happy customer anyhow, I'll pick it up next time.

I just had Charter installed, so I would assume that's who it was based on these comments. It's very strange that they didn't leave a message.

just got the call from Charter Communcations just called back the number and  it says it is not working to call back to a 800 number

I was just called by them. If it is Charter, they have poor quality control if they are calling new customers w/o leaving a message identifying themselves.

Called 10:30am Tuesday 9/8/09. I was at work, so didn't answer it.  But this number has called several times and I don't recognize it.  I tried calling it back, but didn't get anyone to answer.

Installed Charter two days ago, after an 6 hours wait, after they told me they would definitely be here.  Now I get calls, and have specifically told them no giving my number to anyone - sick of wasting time talking to people who have something to sell, which I don't want. They are so antiquated in service, equipment, and processes; and yet, hold a monopoly in Jefferson County - another bureaucratic nightmare.

deni, i work in that call center and we call our customers 3 times over the course of the week. if you are receiving more than 3, or several a day, then it is prolly someone in the call center abusing the system. our rule is 5 rings and hang up (i would much rather leave the message but i dont make the rules so... not much i can do) sorry for the trouble

I have received several calls from this number.  It rings twice.  Hangs up prior to my answering.  No messages left.  If I try calling back, the message says that the number is disconnected.  I'm finding this annoying.

They won't stop calling until I answer, but they always call when I'm at work haha.

I actually answered the call and to be honest it was nice to get real customer service from some one who not only speaks my language, but made every effort to make sure I was happy with my installation. The lady said that that would be the only call they would make unless I had a service tech out. It's been about a month now and I haven't received any more calls from Charter and apparently they haven't sold my number as my junk calls haven't increased.

May be associated with Charter Communications, as I just scheduled a service call with them yesterday.
