I have been receiving the text OTA OK  sometimes several times a day for at least 3 years. It is frustrating but I have given up worrying about it. I have tried to call the number, text the number and no response.  I have spent several days over the years texting  repeatedly things like "OTA NOT OK" or "Stop texting me!" No change in the amount of these texts I get.  

I also have rec'd text messages from this same number. I have T-mobile and have text messages blocked. How in the world do these get through?  Weird!

Thanks for your message Ms. Armstead.  I called that "do not call" number.  I don't blame your boyfriend.  I'd be pissed too.  Where do these idiots come from? And yes, we have to pay for them to call us.  Don't they understand that they have to pay to disturb us?  I also thought your joke was funny, as you said until 6 of those annoying calls came in. You've got to have a sense of humor about some of this stuff or go crazy, which I refuse to do.  Thanks again for posting.

My boyfriend is hot under the collar.  He's got like six (6) of these text messages from the same number 992/472-7669 with the same message as you all got, " OTA OK ".  I joked with him for a minute because my father's initials were OTA.  I joked with him that maybe Dad is trying to communicate with him (he's deceased).  He thought it was funny until he got SIX (6) of these calls!

On a better note, I got an e-mail from a friend of mine who said to call this number: 888/382-1222.  It is the National DO NOT CALL list.  Perhaps that might get these jokers at this number to cease and desist.   She gave me this number because all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies this month and you will start to receive sales calls.  You will be charged for these calls as well. You MUST call from the cell number you want to have blocked, not a different number.  The great news is that it will block your number from these idiots for five (5) years!  Hope this helps.

Just got this same text message (OTA OK) 3 times in a row @ 1:30am.....then a text "welcoming me to T-Mobile", but I've been with them for over 10 years.  Called T-Mobile customer service to let them know, probably won't do any good.

Ugh, same here. I am getting LOTS if these OTA OK messages, at all hours of the day/night.

Recieved 7 text messages in a row. Text back and get same message yet again. Says it's an invalid number when looked up?

Just got an SMS from this number tonight. Punched in the number and found this site.
So...My message said: "OTA Error, Please Call 1 800 937 8997"

Of course, that's the T-Mobile support line.  Having worked there a long time ago, I know there is a tool that sends an SMS with picture messaging settings for your phone.  If the support rep handling someone else's phone call for a picture messaging problem puts the wrong phone number into the OTA (Over the Air) configuration tool, you'll get the message.

If it "worked", your MMS/Picture messaging may be broken. If it failed, the changes should not have been applied and everything should be fine.
If you keep getting the message after 24 hours, I would suggest giving T-Mobile a call to see if they can get the messages to stop.

I been receiveing the same message for at least a year and I'm also a tmobile customer.

I woke up today to a OTA OK message from this number. I also had a second text message from T-mobile that said "Welcome to T-mobile!" and appeared to be sent because I signed up for something called KidConnect. I have no idea what that is or how I am involved with it. I don't know if these two messaged are related but I was asleep at home when they both came, not roaming.

This morning about 8:30am I got another OTA OK text message. I hope it doesn't start harrassing me the way others have experienced.

If you'll all go back to page 2 here, there is an explanation there. It's harmless. It's just a confirmation from t-mobile meaning you're On The Air.. it can happen while roaming or anytime there is a change in which you might be turning your phone on after it's been off... it's just acknowledging service.

Got 2 text messages one right after the other. My husband also got one right around the same time

got this a few times... most recently 9/2 @ 10:22pm.  always SMS stating "OTA OK".
