Got a call from this number but no message was left on the voicemail.  If this was a real emergency, then not leaving a voicemail is not being very helpful.  People often don't answer unfamiliar numbers and this one is definitely an example of one.  So people are not going to pick up a lot of the time which makes leaving voicemails even more essential.  If this is really reverse 911, this is no way to run it.

I have caller ID too. Saw that number and thought it an odd number. Just hung up on it.

It left me a message for all this rain and flooding.. So answer it

Missed phone call from 999-911-9999 @ 9:15 p.m. I was on the phone and was unable to answer. When I saw a 911 # listed, I was concerned. Called back, but was unable to get through. I called my neighbor, and she told me that It was, in fact, an emergency notification. In this case--an 11 year old girl has been reported missing. I can hear Helicopters looking! Prayers go out...for her safe return!

I got a call this evening and it was the local sheriff's department warning about house to house solicitors targeting homes for theft.  I didn't answer it until I looked it up and saw others receiving some type of warning.  Glad I found this site quickly and picked up the phone.

We got a call from this number. The City of Lewisville, TX, left us a message that they had found a confirmed rabid skunk and gave the street location. They also gave the number of the animal control office is we see anything that needs to be brought to their attention. They called once a couple of years ago during a very rainy period warning that a nearby creek was out of its banks and recommended evacuation. This is an excellent way to notify residents in the event of an emergency.

WE JUST RECD 1 CALL FROM THE 999 AND 2 CALLS FROM  :0:. WHAT THE HECK IS THAT. WE DIDNT ANSWER. I AGREE THEY SHUD DO A BETTER JOB OF ALERTING THEIR AREA RESIDENTS.

This number is the emergency number of all local towns.  They are calling with information that is important for it's citizens.

Left a message on our voicemail.  Voice message was in regards to ordinances regarding the burning of leaves, storage of flammables, etc.  Not sure if it was our local government as the first part of the message was cutoff due to the 'greeting' on our voicemail.

This number called back, three times to this minute, left no message.  If it is an emergency message they need to show a name otherwise I treat it as a telemarketer even though I have an unlisted number and am on the don't call list.  Do we see that we have no right to privacy even though we get all those right to privacy statements?????   I am so glad I have caller ID.

It is a universal emergency service number.  If it does not leave a message there is a problem with the alert system.  This number shows up as 999-911-999 but can be used anywhere. The number is just something that shows up on caller ID nothing else.  You cannot call it back. It's used by police, emergency services, etc.  Security at Florida Tech use it for instance for emergency campus alerts.

Keeps calling but doesn't leave a message!! What's up? Supposedly some kind of emergency notification!! We don't have any such # in our location!!!

got three calls this afternoon from this number.  I live in Houston and we have Hurricane Ike coming in, but the call left no message (first call I missed).  next two calls resulted in hang up's after I answered the calls.  They gave me NO information - useless if this continues to happen when "emergency" system is activated.

Called at 9:57, 10:00, 10:02 AM today. Unknown name and no message.

Call came in middle of the day on 2 seperate occassions and I was unable to answer the call.

We got 3 calls from 999-911-9999 turned out to be the emergency system of Moore, Oklahoma...that's cool, but we live in Georgia...

Received a call from 999-911-9999(pre-recorded message) stating that I was suppose to move my car off the street from  whomever called so they could sweep the street. I figured it was just some nut job playing a prank.
He didn't say what city and state where their going to sweep streets in.
