I got a scam call from this number. He was not from America and he was claiming I won something and they were going to use UPS to send it. I said I hadn't signed up for anything. He said he knew that and I was just a random winner. I have no idea how he got my number!

I quickly recognized the call as a scam and had some fun with them.  Evidentially, I?m going to be arrested by local police in front of my family and neighbors to spend the night in jail so I can be tried on my county?s front steps (on a Satuday no less) for committing IRS Fraud.  The process was going to long and grueling?would need to hire are attorney and spend hundreds of thousands of dollars defending the case because they had a solid case.  Unless?I cooperated with them.   If the IRS wants you they?ll snail mail you a couple of times prior to calling you.  And if they call, they?ll be able to provide you private information?not the reverse.  Total scam.  Don?t fall for this hoax.

I talked to a male that sounded like he was from S Africa.  He has been texting me from a WA # but sounds very suspicious. I believe that it is someone running a scam to get money so I blocked the # from calling me.

I subscribe to Omnitech,  a company that  maintains the client's computer free from viruses and and other types of cyber attack. This past weekend I received a call from 11-999-999-212 and a woman who said she was calling from Omnitech asked me if I was so and so and when I confirmed she asked me to log on my Omnitech account and allow a technologist access to my computer. Then a man who identified himself as a Omnitech technologist showed me several corrupted files  in my computer, saying that he would delete those files as part of the regular assessment and cleaning up that the company provides the clients on a regular basis. Once that was done he said that in order to protect my computer from similar attacks in the future, I should install an anti-malware  software. The cost: $ 149.00. I said I would think it over and call him later. Instead I called Omnitech and they said they had no records of anybody in the company calling me on that day. As for the malware software, Omnitech provides it free of charge to its customers. The woman and the man who called me had a strong Indian accent (from India). Since then I have been receiving 5-6 calls from 11- 999-999-212 number, day and night. I picked up the first time around and told them that I knew they were not with Omnitech and that the whole thing was a scam. That did not stop them from calling. How did they know my name, phone number, and the fact that I am a Omnitech client? Omnitech did not seem to be bothered too much when I told them about the issue. They advised me not to allow strangers access to my computer. Strangers who know my name, phone number and Omnitech account do not sound too much like strangers. Beware of 11-999-999-212, and do not think that your personal information is safe in the hands of supposedly reputable business such as Omnitech.

Our business got a call from this number saying they were our copier repair company and needed the six digit code off of the front of our copier. A legit copier company would never call you and ask you about the specs on a product they sold you. Scammers.

Call blocker is your best bet.  Also don't pick up on call numbers you don't recognize.   They appear to be debt scammers.  Don't talk to them; don't give them any information, do not let them intimidate you.  Do not agree to send them any money!

Report them:  See:  https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection

This number rang my cell just a few minutes ago. I did not answer and no voice mail was left. So I searched the number knowing it is not a valid area code. Found this site and others saying it is a spoof number and associated with scammers. Just a brief review of this site and a few others showed dates going back to 2009. A good practice to have is to not ever answer a number you do not recognize. Be smart, be safe.

Just got a creepy call from this number. The caller was obviously trying to disguise his voice and came off sounding like the serial killer from Silence of The Lambs. He stated his name was Ryan Johnson and he was calling from Bank of America, I don't have an account with Bank of America so there would be no reason for them to contact me.

The man that called me said I had won &750.000 and he worked with the IRS and would deliver a certified check to my house but that I needed to insure with FID which would cost me around &7500.00.  I called the World Trade Center about this. Contact the federal trade commission in Washington DC
Also register to the Do Not Call list.com
Then track the call history for 30 days exactly. Must attempt to get name, number, extension, name of company when ever possible.
Consequently, if they call back on the 31st day, the individual can be fined $10k for violating federal law.
It's the companies responsibility to "scrub" the list to the do not call list every 30 days. This was implemented by federal law in 2010 or 2012. The FTC can give you the exactly Congressional law date it was passed.
Sincerely, mortgage expert from AZ.

Someone called me and said she was my granddaughter (which I don't have). Then she asked if it was the Corsi residence (which is my last name) and if I lived at 6895 Eastmoor Drive (which is my address). When I told her that I didn't have a granddaughter she said "well why don't I come to 6895 Eastmoor Drive and kill you" and then she hung up.
