This number called but no one was on the line. Really weird number.

Got a call from this number.  Didn't answer.  

Just got a call on my mobile with this 999***2114 number. Looked suspicious. Did not pick it up. No voice message. Googled to see what this number was about. Looks like I did the right thing by ignoring.

I just received a call from the an unknown number then from  9-999-999-2114, picked up a forien tone guy says that my SSI number has been involved in some specious activities and I an the main suspect>. I hung up, then the 9-999... number comes up and I let it go to voice mail. The voice mail stated the about, but for to call 917-965-9500, and speak with Agent Johnson of the Department of Justice (for something that suppose to had happened in Michigan) I am going to use my gmail phone to call this number...Ok, the number rang four times and went busy. Funny thing is that he had no ideal that I have spoken to officers this morning and est believe, I would have know if there was some wrong.

Does anyone know who this is and who to report them too

Same name, James Anderson, from a 000-000-0000 number.  Weird accent (might be Indian).  I just hung up.

Just received a call from this number.  A foreign sounding person (sounded female) told me she was with Microsoft, and was going to help me solve problems with my computer.  "Are you sitting in front of your computer now?"  I said yes, and that I was getting ready to get on my state's attorney general's office website to report this number having called me when I am on the no call list.  Then I hung up.  

You hit the mail on the head mr.  Pissed.

Got a call on my cell phone from this number, guy was asian or indian. I told the guy this # is on Do Not Call list & asked what company he was from. He told me "Card Member Services". I told him to remove my phone # from their list. I asked him wha this company's phone # was and where they are located, and he replied:  "1-800 - F-U-C-K YOO, f**** yoo lady!"  Can't these people be stopped? - rude & obnoxious!

Got that number today calling me. I just ignored the call.

Have received 4calls from this number today. Never says who he is and asks for someone I do not know.

this n**** dun called my house  several times at first I hung up but he called again with a different # so I answered it and he gave me the same b.s. that he's been giving everyone else sayin he's from windows. so I told him that if he called again I would call the police.apparently he didn't believe me so he called again but this time he said muthafu*** why did you hang up on me, since there were other people in the room I decided to have a little fun by letting my friend on the phone my friend cussed him out and who ever was on the phone got angry and they started to cuss back to end it we hung up and like I said I called the police but they said that the area code was invalid and he was probably using an app,but what I want to know is how did he get my number?!!!!!!!

Also got a robocall from CallerID 999-999-2114 identifying itself as Civil Investigation Unit with a case number and callback number of 866-217-1709. As in walt1944's post the message indicates pending civil action and a restraining order, and advice to have our attorney call.

I called to find out what kind of scam they were running. It is a "legitimate" debt collection group, if there is such a thing as a legitimate debt collection group. The lady who answered the phone really didn't want to identify herself or the company and didn't want to give me any information because I was not the person they were trying to reach. I explained that if she wanted to have any chance of results, she would work with me as Power of Attorney for the person allegedly owing the debt. The information provided about the account was questionable because the debtor's name was not quite correct, but she did offer a good address. However, the last 4 of the social was not even close. I told her that this was obviously a bogus claim and that if they ever called back I would... She interrupted me with, "Or you'll what?" and hung up on me.

I called back and got another goon - a guy this time. This guy was a bit more willing to give information. He gave me the name of the company as Advanced Mediation Services (I think that is correct, at least the initials and "mediation" are correct.) But, as with the earlier call, the debtor's name was not quite correct, and the last 4 were incorrect. When I objected to the call, he hung up on me, as well.

Third call, I got Eric, a far nicer person, and someone willing to assist me. The account in question was opened several years ago at BestBuy, closed by the company for non-payment, and sent to several collection agencies. During that time, they show numerous unsuccessful attempts to contact the debtor. They claimed to have tried both mail and phone. There has never been a collection call or notice here. I finally realized that somewhere along the way, my friend was linked to the account because her name was similar to the one used to open the account. The collection agency could not even show that this address or phone number were used to open the account - just that the contact information was updated a year or so ago. Some hotshot, eager "investigator" just found a name that sort of fit that of the debtor, and linked my friend's address and phone number to the account. Eric assured me that, since the SSN was not correct, he would remove my friend from the call queue, and pass the account back to the attorneys for review.

So, the bottom line, boys and girls, is that these people are scum, and try every way possible to find someone to pay a debt, whether they owe it or not. Collection agencies like this are last resort, and buy essentially dead accounts for a few cents on the dollar. If they can collect 25% of a balance, they have hit paydirt. Even 10% can profitable for them. So, a person may incorrectly think that there is some old debt that they forgot about, and paying it off will give them peace of mind. ChaChing, the agency just made some coin because they conned someone.

I just recieved a call from this number without my glasses I can't see the number, so I answered it.  Claimed they were from Genwine Microsoft, wanted me to go to my computer so they could walk me thru the steps to prevent future hackers.  Told them the lady that owned the computers was not in.  I will not be answering this numebr again.  BEWARE

I go a call like offended Oct 3, 2013 above a few months ago and I knew it was a pile of sh-t that he was from microsoft.

Today I got call 999-999-2114 and I thought that was a weird number. Maybe the call before from Microsoft was th same guy. He sounded Asian.This call today the guy sounded American and asked for me. He acted like we've been friends for years and thanked me for giving to Leukimia foundation. When did I do that? I have my own places to contribute. AND I don't respond to telemarketers.

I just received a call from 999-999-2114,dumb me I answered and no one was on the line. Never again

Let him walk me through a pretend few clicks of the computer, then told him I have an Apple computer.

The last time he called I told him I didn't own a computer. So nothing works.

I have a number of these calls on my phone, no one is ever there, leaves no message, when I do pick up, there is nothing, so I hang up. Don't even bother to answer now.

Got the call @ 8:30 tonight. Did not answer based on the posts here. Thanks fo de heads up.

I got a phone call from this number this morning.  Guy with a strong accent said he was with Windows.  Told me he got a warning that my computer had 2 problems with it.  Ask me if I had a Windows Computer.  What an idiot.  I played along for awhile and put him on the speaker phone for everyone to hear, to see where this jerk was leading me. He told me to go to the Windows icon at the bottom of my computer, then go to Control panel and then to something else.  I pretended that I was doing what he ask.  Then he gave me a bunch of letters and numbers to enter.  I kept playing along.  He told me to press enter and ask me to read what the screen said.  I told him my screen went blank.  LOL  Then he ask me again and I told him the screen was blank.  He then said, "Mam I'm not playing TO you!"  It took everything I had to hold back the laughter.  At that time, my friend took the phone and called him "Mahatma",  and told him he killed my computer.  He told my friend to "f*** off" and then told me "YOUR GOING TO DIE IN 2 DAYS!"  Guess he thought he got ahold of a stupid female!

I received more than 20 calls within 48 hour from this number...some were at 2:30am.  A woman would start speaking in a different language after 5-7 seconds of being silent.  I started using my Mark1 Whistle as soon as I answered the phone.  They stopped calling after 6 times of a high pitched whistle in their ear.  Hopefully they get the message.

Called left no message. Another Scam. Do not bother ansewring this call. Spoofed number is so Obvious.You people are Scum Bags-get the message already. Go crawl back under the rock you came from. Idiots!

I got a call from this number from my ever so obnoxious niece and I think it is a skype number. I know it was her because she said so and proceeded to tell me she wished I had died in my car accident.

I Just got a call from this number and the Guy introduced himself as Jack and told me I can save you money on healthcare from the recent accident you had. He is a Jerk. I don't know when I had an accident ;)

I got called from this number. It looked fishy at 999-999 so I ignored it.  I have a habit of not answering numbers I have no idea who it is. If it's important, then leave a voice mail.

I did get one of those phones from Walmart and guess what they called me on that one too. Nothing is sacred anymore!

i received a call from 999 9999 2114, which of course i did not answer dumb looking numbers.  they did not leave a message.
