Someone needs to stop these scammers, they are ripping everyone off. Why hasn't something already been done to stop them?
Anthony Lee 2011-05-31 22:31:55 Unknown
I was wondering why we have to keep topping up my wife's mobile phone.
It turned it was because she simply reply to one of these IQ trivia message.
Apparently they take the reply as being a subscription to the service.
This is really disgusting. I hope someone will shutdown this company
Matt 2011-05-31 22:31:55 Unknown
Yeah I sended in STOP and it worked fine. No problems.
Paul 2011-05-31 22:31:55 Unknown
I copped this scam. I rang my service provider who was no help - they said they didnt know wher it came from and could only be reviewed after the next invoice. I did not want more money to be racked up while I was waiting.
I texted the STOP number in. Have others found that this has put an end to the scamming?

Have now been charged $100 by this stupid scam. If the Telecommunications Ombudsman is the only way to get justice I will be writing to them. If we all wait for someone to do something about this wiesely people will continue to do this until some all mighty power makes this type of thing illegal. I feel my privacy has been completely violated! F*** technology - excuse the french, but I am feeling no control here over my private life!
Kim 2011-05-31 22:31:55 Unknown
This company is cheating without any obvious written agreement about subscription of the service. A teenager did a iq test on facebook. The company deducted $19.80 plus cost of 6 messages from my mobile (each message costs $6.60). It is a SCAM!!
Jude 2011-05-31 22:31:55 Unknown
Call 1300 730820 - can't get through! Called Telstra who have barred but still have $30 SO FAR!!! Can't tell what damage has been done until bill comes on 2nd of month! Where has this come from
Adam 2011-05-31 22:31:55 Unknown
Got caught out for the IQ test - my wife did it - now $50 out of pocket for some s**t messages being sent out over the last month !! Phoned 3 no help other than they phoned and made sure we're unsubscribed !!!
On Facebook you put in your number...they text you with a PIN number or code, you enter the code therefore they know thats the same phone number concerned then they text s**t out to you at $5 a time until you send STOP back....even that will take a couple of days. I have phoned the 1300 so I suspect that will have cost me money as well. Complete scammers
David 2011-05-31 22:31:55 Unknown
My 15 year o ld son had same thing happen. I will be contacting phone ombudsman with formal complaint.
Rowan 2011-05-31 22:31:55 Unknown

It seems a lot of people have falled into that trap!!! I did IQ test on facebook, and then the same thing happened to me!! $20 is charged via my mobile bill. suck! I called 130-073-0820, choosing 2 for unsubscription. done! The message from 1975-6789 is sent to me showing I am now unsubscribed from this service.
Ivy 2011-05-31 22:31:55 Unknown
This company is cheating every unaware internet users of their money. I was doing an IQ test and was requested to have my mobile number sent in, for the test results to be sent to me. i have read the terms and conditions with no obvious written agreement to subscription of the service. BUT the company deducted $19.80 for an initial subscription fee from my mobile and currently, they are sending rubbish messages to me at $6.60 per msg. with NO AGREEMENT OR CONSENT GIVEN. it is a SCAM, and I believe more people are falling for it.
I have stop the service now, by texting STOP to 1975 6789.
I have called my service provider and told them about the on-going scam.
Action must be taken to stop them, ASAP.
Julia 2011-05-31 22:31:55 Unknown
Apparently Mobile fingers, messages come from 1974 1975
DISGUSTED 2011-05-31 22:31:55 Unknown
I was lured into this site who were advertising FREE advertising, after filling out the form lo and behold it was a fraudulant advertisement, and I declined the invitation, now I and getting SMS messages at 6 IN THE MORNING! THANK YOU I REALLY NEED THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Colin 2011-05-31 22:31:55 Unknown
They are scumbags and more should be done to stop them. I have un-registered after falling for the scam but what's to stop them continuing... do I have to change my number!!!!
Colin 2011-05-31 22:31:55 Unknown
To cancel the scam you have to text 'stop' to their number.
For example in my case I cancelled by texting 'stop' to 19701020, this number was included in their communication.
Rosie 2011-05-31 22:31:55 Unknown
As above- to cancel the scam you have to text STOP to their number but I found out later that this is pointless unless you type it in CAPITALS. So after being ripped off $240.00 I'm hoping my efforts will succeed. I'll update you soon.
Ana 2011-05-31 22:31:55 Unknown
I fall in the trap too.
Send the word STOP to 19741975 and they will send you a las message saying the service has been stopped..
until you STOP the service you will be charge $6.60 per Message
Fill up your message box and dont let any more messages to get IN
Disconnect your number for a while if required
Call Consumer protection group if Charges keep comming
I lost over $30 in les than 1 minute
They send you as many messages as they can
Lucky my message box was nearly full and they could send only 5 messages at $6.60 Each
Arvind 2011-05-31 22:31:55 Unknown
Was ripped off from 19701020 number sending me premium sms 5 times. $30 in just 1 minute !. Now 3 network says they can't do anything as I have subscribed to some kindof online game. I have no idea who got my number and subscribed. I feel like burning down the 3 network. I will cancel the number at once.

I have also received many of these nuisance text messages until I texted back 'STOP'. I have tried calling this 1300 number but it's just a scam and there is no one to take the call. My phone company are insisting that I pay the bill but I shouldn't have to. Has anybody actually been able to get to the bottom of this bloody scam???
martine 2011-05-31 22:31:55 Unknown
You need to contact your service provider. Tell them that you have no idea how these arseholes got your number, and you have not subscribed to anything. Demand that they refund your money, and then have them block the number. Then call the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman and put in a complaint.
Fred 2011-05-31 22:31:55 Unknown
Yes, they are Mobilefinder Pty Ltd (ABN 58 122 674 579)

Probably my son subscribed to this Site when he was doing IQ Test.
Since Sep08, it has costed me 85 dollar.
theyarescam 2011-05-31 22:31:55 Unknown

Li 2009-06-24 00:08:07 Unknown
My son fell in the trap too. He did an IQ test on facebook last month and we received the bill yesterday ($6.60 per message and more than 15 messages). An action must be taken to stop the scam! More information about how to file complaint for the scam is available at Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/715412).
