Got a call and hang up.

Hi, I received a call from a foreign man telling me that I will be receiving 5,500.00 because we were tax payers who paid on time.  That is funny since my husband is a disabled veteran and we are tax exempt.  Anyway, he told me that he was from the US Treasury Dept.  Then he asked me for my bank card information ....I happened to have a prepaid Visa card with a few dollars on it, and i gave him the number...He called from someplace back east..and his number was 202-6769...I called him back and gave him the credit card information...with a card that only has 5.00 on it, and isnt associated with my bank...I am curious about what he does  with it..lol...Anyway, Im just curious.  He was an Indian guy..

Same as others. They had my name but not a real address. they asked for my middle initial and i told him that i wouldnt give that out. Told him that it wasnt the correct address. he asked for my address, i told him that i wouldnt give it out. he hung up. the only real difference is that he said the government was going to western union me the money and never got far enough to ask for my bank info...and he said it was 5000 $. I wonder how many ppl have fallen for this?

Some middle eastern person claiming hisself as Brian Smith (What kind of dune donky has a name of brian smith) said i was to receive $2000 dollars for paying my taxes on time. The said they were the Grant Department of the U.S. Government in Washington D.C. and then the National Grant Program. But they called from a couple of fake numbers like 1-800-111-123 and 441-360-7994360 and then gave fake more fake customer service numbers like 866-923-3611 and 877-464-1029 and 866-407-1029. They also said it would be about 30 dollars for electronic shipping. but i have recorded alot of their conversation if their is a way to share it. (not very computer literate)

1/17/08, very heavy mid east accent. told me i was selected to get $2,000.00 for paying my taxes on time. i told him it was sort of funny since i am on a disability pension and do not pay taxes on it. i told him he was being recorded and would be reported to the FTC,then asked him if he wanted to continue or hang up,he hung up. i hope no one falls for this crap.

This time I "was getting a phone" absolutely free" from Sprint. For a min I was about to give the complete details, since I had called Sprint customer service just an hour ago for details about some of their plans, but when I decided to ask the agent some questions, and it turned out to be a clear case of fake talk. When I asked the agent which country was he sitting in, I got hung upon...

I'm sitting at work and i get a call from the same number.

Me: Hello... this is Don, how may i help you?
Guy: Blahgadakahabaha *** can't understand him ***
Me: Sir, you will have to speak slower and clearer... i can not understand you.
Guy: Blahalaghalalalal kah bahaha *** can't understand him ***
Me: Seriously, I can't hear a word you're saying... you're talking too fast.
Guy: I'm sorry sir... I am.. *random name* ... I am trying to verify that you have recieved your 5000 dollars from the US government tax refund program.
Me: uhh... no
Guy: Oh, I am very sorry, we are having some technical difficulties on our end.  If you could verify the account number for me... I would be happy to deposit the moneys tomorrow morning for you to withdraw...

The guy then asks if i'm with *** name of my bank ***

Me: So, you're going to have a conversation with me and trick me into giving you my bank account info... If you tink i'm giving you my bank account number and routing number you are smoking a lot of dope.
Guy: Yes sir... very good.
Me: Yes sir, very good? you're smoking dope?
Guy: i'm sorry?
Me: if the government wanted to send me money, they would send me a check, they know my address.

*** hang up ***

Called me back

Guy2: Hello, this is blah blah with blah blah you just spoke with one of my agents...  
Me: yes?
Guy2: We are trying to give you your Tax Refund... do you want your tax refund?
Me: Short story time, sir.  The gov. doesn't just give money away.. it doesn't work that way.
Guy2: Sir... this is your money.. i have your information here with me already, i just need to verify.
Me: if you have my info, then deposit the check... bam!
Guy2: I need to verify that you are who you are.
Me: I am me... and you are not making any sense
Guy2: Yes sir, this is correct, i speak to you with no sense because i am senseless and you sir are a sensless man and while i talk with you i have no sense.
Me: That doesn't make sense... at all... what?
Guy2: when we are done you know i can do anything with you?
Me: What?
Guy2: Anything with you.. i know who you are i show up at your house
Me: Ok.. i'll entertain this for a minute... well. 5  you have 5 minutes.. start talking.
Guy2: I will be at your house with your money
*** Guy hangs up ***

got a call and there was noise in the background but no one would answer after searching the number it comes up as Dominos Pizza in afganhastan

I recieved a call from this number they said they were going to deposit money in my bank account for paying my taxes. They had my name and address then they wanted my account and routing number. I told them i don't give my account out over the phone and they hung up on me.

They've called me "22" times and i have answered 4 times last the second to last time i said i didnt understand a thing they said and i hung up. The last time they said they were going to give me $2000 so i told them to mail me details. The lady put another man on the phone i didn't understand. I said a few choice words and hung up.I live in Tucson AZ.

I received a phone call tonight from someone "pretending" to be a Brian Smith from the US Government Income Tax Department. The number he called me from was 180-011-1123.  I noticed a similar number on my caller id on 10/15: 1900979 and 10/17: 01190979.

This person claimed that they had done a random selection of Greensboro residences who paid their taxes on time, and I happen to be chosen.  He stated that I would receive $2000.00 into my checking account by tomorrow morning.  I asked this Brian Smith, who have a really heavy foreign accent, to verify the number he was calling from and why didn't the government send the check directly to me with a letter of explanation.  He would not provide me with any information and tried verifying information with me, but I disconnected the call.

Received the same call, but they had my account number.  I had to cancel my bank account

where do you all live ive been getting the calls as well... Just curious on how they got the number maybe we can work together and file a suit? haha

Got called and they hung up on me.  I have called a number back and have been charged for long distance.

Said it was a government grant program wanting to give me $2000 for paying my taxes on time. Scarily they have my address and full name.  When they asked for my account number I laughed and told them I knew it was a fraud and then hung up.

Oh, and I actually owe the government money so if they were going to give me money they would just put it towards my bill!! haha

This # 180-011-1123 has called me twice and hung up. I am waiting for it to call again because I am an invesitgator and I will try to get more info to report this fraudulant activity.

Same story as most above except named Roger William from Washington, DC and works with the federal govt.  Finally claimed that he was from Pakistan and a nephew of Osama Bin Laden, and we had better get out of his country.  Claimed he would get my family and knew who I was.  He had already told me my full name and address earlier.  Could hear lots of laughing in the background so this guy is really enjoying himself.

This number has been calling my house for like 3 months already and its really getting on my nerves.
he asks for my husband and i tell him hes not home and so i ask to take a message and he says no thanks and hangs up.

today he called and said the same thing except this time he offered it to me instead of my husband i said take us off ur call list because ur not getting our info.

so he calls again 5 mins later and i didnt answer.

called, didn't answer, no message.

Had the same call offering 2000 the first day from the us government for my taxes wanting my bank info and the next day same voice offering 500 from social security. asked for supervisor and woman got on phone and when i wouldn't give info she said my name and my address and called me a f****** b**** and some other choice words. i hung up and reported it to local authorities!!! BEWARE!!!!! They don't give up easy!

This phone number is for a Dominos Pizza in India.  I don't like their pizza anyway.

A female with Indian accent called me from this number and offerred me $5000 grant from the US goverment.

F*** this fuy. This is f****ng bunch people work like calling center. Thay called me and asked for bank routing number but I knew he is Indian........stupid a** called me at 9.30 when all offices are close.......I curshed him and he hang up........if he calls, said "madar chod".

SAme number as listed above, calls once a day around 1145 MST, only rings for 5 seconds then hangs up.  Don't want to call him back.  really annoying since I am at work.

This number been calling my cell phone on a daily basis, every time they call I do not answer.

This same jerk has been calling me and hanging up but I think this is the same fool that told me he wanted to spend the night with me and would give me $1000! I told him to go suck a lemon!!

follow up:

So the Indian guy calls back again and claims hes calling from California. Says he's the IRS - I say ok, let me talk to your supervisor - he says ok, and 2 seconds later its the same guy with a deeper voice.

I said your calling from India, not CA - and he disputes that saying hes got an american accent.

I got into an argument with him and said I'll have the authorities on him, to which he replies I'm not in your country and I dont care.

Please be wary of these jerks - I'd hate to see them actually rip someone off

Same thing, claimed he could refund us $2000 for paying our taxes on time. Knew our names but wanted our bank details. He had an Indian accent.
