WE get these calls all hours of day and night.  comes up on caller ID,  unknown name.  If its so important, why can't they leave a message??    We are sick and tired of this!

these a***-holes call me EVERY SINGLE DAY, sometimes twice, but never leave a message...  I never answer....do not call registry is a bunch of crap...so far this year I've received over 100 calls from various a***-holes...  

We get a call from this number about once per month - phone ID's the caller as Conde Nast.  We never answer, although I think my wife once had a subscription to one of the (below) posted mags.

I've also never given my phone number to magazines and permission to call. Heck I don't even give them a credit card number I pay for all of my magazines via check so that they can't pull an auto-renewal on me.

I also called the 800# above bad they picked up right away and were very nice about taking me off the list.  I have subscribed to their magazines and the fact that they were so nice makes me want to buy from them again.

Dec. 26, 2013 11:AM EST...I just had a call from this number. I called the 1 800 number shown here. It is Dial America about magazine subscriptions. I told them I do not need to have them call me and please remove my phone number. They agreed to do that. We will see. IF THEY CONTINUE TO CALL I WILL REPORT THEM TO THE DO NOT CALL OFFICE. I HAVE DONE THAT BEFORE AND GOT no HELP FROM THEM. however  this seems to be an incorporated business in Charleston, SC and I will report to there state also. Dial America, Charleston, SC. If everyone starts calling SC about this someone will have to do something.

getting calls from this number, I am on the NC do not call list and the National do not call list, can't these people read list and leave people alone.

Isn't this a "do not call" number.  When does the so-called "do not call" kick in and do what it is supposed to?

They call to "renew" my subscription(s) The funny thing is that I've never subscribed to any. Yet, I keep getting magazines anyhow. I tell them I'm not interested. They say okay, and then try to start up a new spiel telling me I can get it now for cheaper. I just repeat, "I'm not interested" and I hang up without listening further. The sad thing is that some poor sucker, desperately needing a job, has taken this on in the hopes of having some sort of income (hourly wage maybe? or commission only?). And what do they get? Some of those who answer the phone are down-right abusive to them. Some are firmly just saying no. Some hang up on them. What a discouraging way to make a living!!! As for those who just set the phone down and walk away, I'm wary about that. I think it is just like the Jehovah's witness. If you let them talk, even without answering, it gives them the right (in their protocol) to keep calling.

They rang but hung us just as the voice mail was to start.

They call here a lot! I never answer and they never leave a message! The answering machine picks up, they hang up, and I hear a dial tone! What's up with that? It's as if I left my phone off the hook!

They call every day at least 5 times!

Fine if they are looking to renew but they found my number which is easy enough.  They have my email and obviously my address but were never told they could contact me by phone land or cell so that's bs.  And btw not renewing cause you doubled the subscription for Vanity Fair which is all ads anyway

Thanks for your post.  My Vanity Fair sub. expired and I intentionally did not renew it.  Have been getting these calls on behalf of Conde Nast several times a week for about a month.  I called the 800 number, spoke with a very polite young man and my number is to be deleted from the call list.

I called the number Karen gave above (1-800-805-3185) and it was Dial America calling for Conde Nast magazines.  She said it was to renew my magazine subscription.  She was very nice and took my name off the list, saying I might get a couple more calls but to ignore them.  It was for Vogue magazine, but I think they handle lots of others.  In this case, the DNC thing may not work because I, at least, had done business with Conde Nast (Vogue magazine) in the recent past.

We have been receiving repeated calls from  201 257 4082   The phone rings twice, no message is left!  I just get to my phone and it stops ringing.  Extremely irritating.  Can anything be done to stop this harrassment?!   I went online and am reading that it's a magazine subscription company...

Someone from this number calls daily and hangs up if the phone is picked up.  Shows up as the name unavailable or unknown name.  Does not leave a message.  Not interested in their phone calls.

I also have started getting these calls from the East coast. They never leave messages and I don't own any subscrptions to ANY magazine. Frankly, if I wanted a certain magazine publication I'd take a trip over to my local grocery store or Barnes and Noble to buy it.

I also work from home and on the do-not-call list and my number is unlisted in the directory.
Then again, do you know that there are MANY SEVERAL telemarketing companies on the East Coast that are scams trying to make a quick buck? Tsk, Tsk.....

Feel the same way, i only get one magazine from NRA and they sure as hell don't give out phone numbers.
so that's a lot of bull.....they get phone numbers and just start calling to see if they can get a hit on some
off guard elderly.

I have never subscribed to any of these magazines and even if I had they wouldn't get my phone number anyway. So don't give me that crap about I gave them permission to call me because I didn't. This is not the only crap idiot company that has called me. I am on the do not call list and again since when does a magazine subscription ever ask for your phone number?  I have had magazines in the years past and not one of em has asked for my phone number. This just goes to prove that the do not call list definitely don't work. Also proves that places buy your info without your knowledge from other companies.

I called this number back. Reached a recording that said call was about a magazine renewal and said if I would like to speak with customer service I can call 1-800-805-3185.  Think I will do that now, and tell them how I will NOT be renewing my subscription due to their annoying, repeated pnone calls.  I will also ask them if they have ever heard of email, and tell them that telemarketing is WAAAAAAY out of style, not to mention ridiculously inefficient.
