Yes, I too have received several calls from this company.  The conversation is just like the rest of these comments.  Wen I don't answer they leave no message.  I agree the Gov't should shut the down.

A guy named John called a number of times on different days about delivery of a medical emergency. I know it's a scam. How could this calls be stopped.

What is the point of the Do Not Call registry if it does not work?

Received call on 8/17/13 at 9:20 a.m.  Caller ID said Sema Recovery Group.  I did not answer and the caller did not leave a message.

I'll tell you who they are! The callers are the medic alert for seniors scammers. There is an article in the current AARP Bulletin that warns of, and explains the scam, that is well worth the reading.

This one's slick, I actually thought there was a live person on the line. I could hear him flipping the pages of paper he was reading and I was all set to "play" with the caller when I realized that it was a recording. I wish I had a nickel for each time he said "...uh..."  Following is the text of the recorded "conversation"...

"Hi, uh, this is John from the shipping department of Emergency Medical Alert, I was calling to uh schedule a delivery of your medical alert system, it's uh the "fallen, and I can't get up" type of system you've seen on TV. Looks like the system's been uh recommended by thousands of hospitals and medical professionals, uh, let's see, says here that the system's already been paid for. Looks like you're getting the system because uh either yourself, a friend, a family member or maybe even someone you know has experienced a fall in the past so uh again it's already been paid for so there's no cost to your whatsoever. Also says here that the shipping has already been paid for so to uh schedule the delivery of your Emergency Medical Alert System press 1 uh again to uh have your system shipped out to you press 1 now...press 5 to decline the shipment of your system....(me) Hello?"

yup they called today i answered like a fool, dead air on their end..these scammers better stop, i work nights and need my rest! I'll sue their azzes!!!!

At about 4:30Pm 8/16/13 a certain John wants to deliver and install the medical alert given by my friends. When I ask who he/she, she hang up the phone. When I return the call, the phone is out of service. I believe he wants to rob and hopefully he will be caught soon.

A robo-call scam...how do I block this number?

No idea what they are up to, but their number has now been blocked.
No response at all on other end when I answered.

Received at least three calls from this number over several weeks.  Tried to check them out on the internet.  Nothing of any substance at all.  Tried the 0217 and their main number same thing, not in service.
This people are weasels!  Jersey City P.D. needs to investigate.

John from medic alert system- it is a recording that almost sounds like a real person.  They want you to accept delivery of the "I've fallen and i can't get up" type of system and claim it is already paid for, including shipping, etc.

Got a phone call from 201-499-0217, came up on caller id as SemaGroupRecvy. Caller said his name was John.  Wanted to send me a medical alert system, I never ordered. I told him I was on the Do Not Call list and to stop harassing me. Must be a SCAM !!

This Guy Called Me about a Med-alert system he says was paid in full by a person I know who just purchased one from him. Very rude and he does not stop talking when I told him I knew of no one who has that system. Yes This person and Company needs to be shut down...

I don't even bother answering the phone if it's a caller ID that I do not recognize. The only people I want to hear from know my mobile phone number.

I just received a call from this number and the person said his name was John and was calling to make a delivery of a life alert system that was already paid for. It was not a live person since I could not get him to shut up to say we do not need one. Also, one of my cousins just got this same call last week and she is 35. Like one of the other messages, I feel they are calling to see  who is home to possibly rob the house.

This company keeps calling telling me I have a free medical alert system paid for by someone else as a gift.  They just want to come and install it.  The guy never stops talking and fights with you when you tell them to stop calling and leave me alone.  These people need to be stopped, they call at all hours of the day.  Do not talk to them its a BIG SCAM!

As others, no message.  Calling often.  Tracing the number, I got to this thread.  Did further search on company name, which doesn't sound like someone selling Life Alert.  Finally found this information (which goes with "recovery services" in name.  Beware!

Guy named John called today 4:20pm to tell me about a med alert system that needs to be delivered to me.  Pushy fast talker with an obnoxious yet phony authoritative tone.  Tried to tell me I was wrong when I said I never ordered anything.

All I get is  a call from John or Ann this is every Day I"m really mad about these calls I"m on the don"t call list  I would like to press charges for  HARRASSMENT,  the # is 201 499-0217 the name on my caller ID will come up  Semagrouprecvy.. If you call the number back it will not go through... this kind of thing makes it look bad for the real life line company... Feel Bad  for that company......

They called my elderly mom and tried to get her banking information......my husband heard her just time to intercept the call

I have been getting calls all week when I was not home.  Just got one now and tried to call it back and it says "the number has been disconnected.

This is a bs call. Life alert...why should i opt out, then they come on the phone live. THey call my house everyday, this is harrassment.

The ID was Sema Gtoup Recovery on the call received today. I did not answe rand the caller left no message.
