Caller-ID showed as "Unknown Name".  I was expecting a call from someone else so I went ahead and answered the phone.  The person CLAIMED they were "ExpressScripts" but when they asked me to give them my date of birth I refused and sold them why...that their number showed as "Unknown Name"...so I wanted proof that they were who they said they were. The caller then hurriedly wished me a nice day and hung up.  So a crook or what?

Yes this is a medco/express-scripts caller. This is not fake but yes you do choose how to be contacted and occasionally mistakes do happen!

Just got a call from this number and didn't answer as I didn't recognize the caller.  They never left a message and I just added them to my reject list.

Do not verify any of your personal information over the phone, not even address.  Some scammers use this as a way to authorize changes to existing services over to their company.  This happened at my work when somebody called wanting to verify info and the next month we had all of these phone charges from some 3rd party company on our phone bill.

I called the number back......its Express Scripts / Medco.  Pre recorded message asking if I was calling about refills etc.  My company switched to them a year ago.  First time they have called, but.........call came in at 7:21PM this date, and called back.

So who is the moron ??? I for one have never deal with a company called Medco and will never after seeing this. But, they would have no way of getting my contact information but yet I received a call from this number. So Can you say Phishing !!!!Just do not give information out to anyone calling you. They have what they are going to get and that is it. I say security needs to be tightened up across the internet companies as a whole.

Well that statement is bunk, because even with HIPA they can leave a message of their name and who the call is intended for and to have that person call them back and ### ### ###.

Everyday ...Every Morning and sometimes Twice a day...Medco Express calls...Answer Phone..they hand up...this is Ridiculous!! Calls have come in as early as 8:50 in the Morning......For over a Month now!!! Needs to Stop!!!

201-891-1029, calls repeatedly and sometimes more than once a day, won't leave a message, won't actually answer when/if we pick up, getting beyond ridiculous!

They are a part of your prescription insurance policy and they don't like to take no for an answer!

Started calling a few days ago, and keeps calling. Dropped call when voicemail is on, and hangs up if we answer. Scumbags. We're on the DNCR and are also filing complaints with the FCC and the FTC.

Cold called claiming to be Express Scripts. For "privacy" asked for my personal information, after telling me I worked for someone I don't work for. I told him he was calling me. He needs to prove to me, not the other way around. He hung up. That is not how a legit caller acts.

Received a call from this # on my cell phone. I do use Medco/express script mostly via email. Occasionally they do call about prescriptions but always on my house phone. Naturally I came here to check this # out. So I called it back and a recording came on stating they were experiencing a high volume of calls so it could be a while. The recording also stated that this was a patient assist line. Never have I heard this when I have called Medco in the past.
I am VERY skeptical and so I called the 800# from my prescription bottle. Low and behold they DID NOT try to contact me.

Its kind of annoying -- aside from the fact that they're calling from Jersey.

I too received a call from 201-891-1029.  The person I talked with wanted to make sure I was receiving all of the prescription benefits I was offered by my company.  They asked a few questions to verify my name and address.  I asked why they were calling and the caller said I could call the Express Scripts number and speak with another representative if I was more comfortable.  I called Express Scripts and verified that 201-891-1029 is indeed a valid Express Scripts number.  She mentioned that calls are initiated in order to convert existing pharmacy prescriptions to mail order.  This increases Express Scripts profits and reduces customers cost.
In order for them to do their job, they need to make sure they are talking to the correct person.  This presents a problem....in my case, they provided my company name and month of birth.....but I had already researched comments online about this number (201-891-1029) and was suspicious.  I will always choose to initiate these types of calls and not give out information when receiving calls.

MEDCO/Express Scripts provides group prescription plans to many Federal, State, County and Municipal employers. I don't know if they do private companies, but they probably do. They call me in spurts for a few weeks and then they stop for a few months.. They are trying to get you to sign up for 90 day supplies for mail order delivery of your prescriptions. Doing so will save them money and it's cheaper for you also if you get 90 day supplies. Like I said before, they stop calling for a while after I tell them I'm not interested. It won't work for me because my doctor changes my prescriptions from time to time and I've been stuck with unused meds that I paid for because I was only into my 2nd month of a 90 day supply. MEDCO does not seem to get the message that I'm not interested, but it might be the Call Center they contract out to that's not getting the message to stop calling me. If your employer uses MEDCO/Express Scripts, the DO Not Call List restrictions do not apply to them calling you.

I received a call this afternoon on my cell from 201-891-1029.  No message was left.  I'm eligible to receive prescriptions from Medco/Express Scripts and have done so in the past, but not in the last 2-3 years.  I'm thinking that if more calls arrive from this number, the maliciousness of their effort may be revealed.  Since this problem seems to have started in 2009 and is continuing thru present day, it might actually be legit in an incompetent sort of way, which would explain why it hasn't yet been eliminated.  Best regards to my fellow sufferers.

So,I just called Medco @ the number I know is legit. They do not have any record of them calling me. I would not give out any information to this number. If you have Medco call them direct.

I just received a call from this number. He stated he was with Medco which is now express scripts. He wanted me to verify my address and DOB. He stated he wanted to give me information to save money on my meds. After reading these posts I did not feel comfortable giving my information. I will call  Medco on the phone # that I know is legit.
