Called me saying I am breaking laws, and going to be served papers....LOL waiting for them!!  Anyway I have tried to communicate with this company and find out if I do owe a debt with them...they just want money and will not tell me anything else.  I asked for him to send me copies of whatever it is that I owe and he stated that was impossible, I even said email, again he can not do that??!!  I simple said that with any written documentation of what this is about, I am not sending any money to any one, then he threatened me with court actions, etc.

Look you low life shill, why don't you just go play in traffic? (Or at least learn how to read before posting such a vile diatribe on an Internet forum).  Did anyone complaining indicate they owe a bill?  If so, has the ownership of the debt been validated (if requested) by the caller?  Of course not, you just prefer to take to the Internet to bully consumers.  Sorry to tell you this cupcake, it ain't going to work here

A "legitimate collection service" does not go chasing debt against a *court order* reorganizing it! What did you think that fat fee to the BK attorney was for, anyway? So mongrel collectors can come slinking around hoping you're too stupid to remember you're already on a plan to rebuild? This indeed should be disputed.

Consumer debt in America is *not* a criminal matter and collector claims are not typically sent straight to a judge. I would have sued the next week for those empty threats.

Reporting to ACA International, the industry lobby group fighting every day to justify bad collector behavior, is like complaining to a den of wolves when your chicken coop is raided. One should take complaints to outside authorities like the CFPB, FTC, and attorneys general. But realistically if your own rights are violated, you need to win back your dignity and a few grand in court, using the right of action granted by the FDCPA.

Your personal problems are not defenses to a debt claim, but they are not to be thrust in your face by insulting bullies, either. Thugs like this don't want your stories, they want your money, and they prefer that you not question why you're paying. Never ask ''How do I pay?'' Always demand, ''Prove I owe!''

Why don't you Kramer shills just obey your laws and pay your FDCPA judgments and stop bitching about everyone who shows you a backbone?

Conveniently you ignore the comments (plural) in this thread from people who *offered to pay* and still got hassled, lied to, and jerked around. Evidently you chase moldy junk debt no sane collector wants and you find it simpler to break laws in lieu of any proof of claim. Too damned bad for you if people become educated enough to resist your scheme.

Just received a call at work and on my cell. As much as I hate to admit this they are a legitimate collection service. WWW. Kramercollects.com is the web address for this company. But the debt they are trying to collect from me is over 6 years old and included in my CH. 13 BK. I know this because they sent me an email about two weeks ago with my address on it from 6 years ago. The statute of limitations in my state is 5 years on this type of debt. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT GIVE ANYBODY ANY PAYMENT ON AN OLD DEBT. Because if you do, you will re-initiate that debt and it will start over again from that date. Find out the statute of limitations in the state you live in. By all means ask for the original documents to be mailed or faxed to you. NOT EMAILED.
Be vigilant and proactive.

Same thing is happening to my daughter. Sandy Day calls my cell phone number and asks to speak to my daughter and then asks her for personal information and/or to verify information she already has. When my daughter refuses to give any information things get ugly. Sandy Day begins threatening her and tonight she accused my daughter of "playing games". My daughter takes care of her bills. Sandy Day has called three times now, always late in the evening or on the weekend. The whole thing is creepy and disturbing. My daughter is going through a tough time right now tonight is wondering if her identity has been stolen. We will be taking action as well.

Most third party collection agencies trying to collect on a payday loan are usually a scam! Online payday loans sell your information to third party collection agencies for pennies on the dollar. These companies are usually not licensed to collect debts.  This company is located in New Jersey and has a website (kramercollect.com).  These type of companies can set up a website for free and make you think they are real.  The company is a member of the ACA International.  In New Jersey it is against the law to call your employer. You can go to the ACA International website and it will tell you that they have been members since 2007.  If this company is calling you at work or you are being harrassed at home you can file a complaint with the ACA International.  Sometimes this could be the second or third company too buy your loan.  Even when people pay off their online payday loans they still sell the information.  They are not allowed to threaten you and take you to court.  It would cost them more money to take you to court and they are in business to scam people not lose money.  They will use any scare tactic to get your credit card information. For the one person who does not pay they get five people who will.

I received a letter from this company and was immediately suspicious.  I owe no debt, didn't recognize the company I'm suppose to owe, no one signed the "delinquent notification" letter and when I went to their so call website, the owners name wasn't listed.

This company is not legit and even you owe the debt - try contacting the company directly.

I'm thankful for this  blog - it was very helpful.  I feel outrage that this kind of nonsense is allowed to go on and I feel deeply sorrow for the individuals that fall prey to this mass.

I do owe a debt and I recognize I need to pay on it however, I have told these people MULTIPLE times that I just don't have extra money, I just had a baby and I lost my job. They don't even recognize this sentance they just keep repeating "It's your debt to pay. You must make a payment or we will take further action!" This time they didn't even day the company name for whom I owe debt to. One day a lady told me " well, I have had babies too but I still manage to pay my bills!" she then hung up on me! RIDICULOUS!

I was told to call or contact a certain person to make new arrangements on a debt.   I tried contacting the person and was told they were in the office by their call center or answering service, and got no return call or response.   I am very concerned about their tactics and ethics.   Initially a woman called me and was very brash and abrupt.  I felt threatened and manipulated.   I did make an agreement with them because initially they gave me information on the party they said they were representing, after that initial call I received and heard nothing from them.  I tried contacting them by phone and the line either rang busy or an automated voice told me the number was either disconnected, no longer in service, or the lines were overloaded and try back again later - later with no success.  I received an email reminding me of payment agreement, but there was no information whatsoever about the original creditor, and I needed that for my records - I then attempted an email - initially my mail came back to me, as I apparently had the wrong Kramer, and received no response.   I was told at the end of the original call that if something would arise to prevent me from making that payment to give a call and I tried with no success.   I felt used badgered and bullied and severely duped.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.
