a woman claimed to be IRS and wants to discuss something important.

"Officer Heather Gray" -- impersonating an IRS agent -- called (robocalled?) from 202-241-1818 at 10:56 PT this morning 4/29/14. She left a message on my voicemail ordering me to call her back immediately on her HOTLINE number "before we take an allegation against you." Misuse of word "allegation" and total fraudulent phone call. I reported immediately to the Federal Trade Commission. IRS wants us to add a phrase indicating this is an IRS Government Scam to our FTC complaints, but I didn't find that information until after I submitted my complaint. Hope all of you will let the FTC know about this ugly problem. Thanks.

I have received several calls from this number all stating they were the IRS and I needed to speak with an agent or legal action would be taken. It is a scam , I reported this to a federal consumer group.

SCAM ALERT!!!!!!I just received my first (IRS telephone SCAM) message left on my answering machine at 8am this morning to call this 202-241-1818. It says don't disregard this message and return a call to this IRS Officer Heather Gray. Issue is extremely time sensitive before they have to  take legal litigation against me and bla bla bla! My phone has been ringing off the hook lately but I screen all calls, so if they don't leave a message I'll never pick-up or return their calls. It's that simple, just to be able to avoid all these types of BS waste of time telephone scams. These kind of ppl ruit it for everybody, causing me to be rude and suspicious to All callers.. I just received a voicemail this morning (4/26) from the same number claiming that I owe taxes and they claim to be from the IRS. The caller identifies himself as Alex Walker, but has a very thick Indian accent. I can barely understand what he is saying. It is a scam. The caller id shows Washington D.C. number. However, this is a Saturday. I don't know of many government employees especially IRS agents that work on Saturdays, which is another red flag. I found this website with comments from other helpful people. Everyone please be aware.

Got the same IRS threatening call from this number from "Officer Heather" of the IRS 4/21 here in CA.
However, the message was all a recording in a clear woman's voice who spoke good English.
At the end it said "Goodby and take care"...
I suspected a SCAM and typed in a google search and found this website with comments from other helpful people.

I recieved a call  claiming to be Agent Heather with IRS.       SCAM

    I was also called by 1-202-241-1818 with the name Daniel. The recording said that I needed to push number 1 to speak to someone but you will be cut off so you will have to call back that is how they knew my name. I looked up this number on the internet and it lead me to this website. The man Daniel was very rude , mean & arrogant because I told him to take my number off his call list when I first spoke with him because I do not like being solicited on my cell phone ( that is one reason I got rid of my house phone) which irritated him and he hung up on me. So I called him back he kept hanging up then finally he answered and I let him know I knew it was a scam and that I reported him. I called him Daniel and he called me by my name so that is how I knew he had a caller ID. I also let him know people was on to him. And since then I have received two more calls. So I blocked my number and called him back both times which the same Daniel answered the phone. I told him again both times I knew it was a scam and to quit calling. Please if you get calls from this number report it to the website named TIGTA.GOV & FTC.GOV they are both aware of this scam and if you have lost money or not report it please. The website will ask if you lost money to the scam or not it is a very short form to fill out on both sites it won't  take but a few minutes of your time. We need to stop letting These types of people from getting away with our hard earned money!!! I did not know about this scam until today I mentioned to my parents and they read about it in  today's newspaper.

DO NOT call this number!!!!! , it is a scam. luckily i goggle the number and other people have been getting the same call about IRS and tax and avoiding legal problem . and i also went on to the IRS site , they will never call you on the phone, they only send letters through the mail. you can complaint to the federal trade commission about this phone number, so other people like the elderly who maybe does not know how to use the internet would not become a victim to this scam

DON'T BELIEVE THESE A***OLES THAT CALL YOU, YES THEY HAVE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION BUT THEY GOT IT ILLEGAL, IT WAS MOST LIKELY SOLD TO THEM AND IF YOU ASK QUESTIONS THEY GET REALLY MAD AND WILL CURSE AT YOU. THAT'S HOW I KNOW THEY ARE NOT THE IRS.

BTW, per the FDCPA, legit debt collectors can't call you that early in the morning.  The law is based around the debtor's local time.  It's before 8 and after 9 if I remember correctly.

Received a call ftom this number heavy India accent daid I owed the irs from last years taxes and that I need to pay right aeay before legal action is taken.

I got the call also (yesterday), similarly they told us owning IRS $6000.00 and we called H&R Block (they prepare our tax every year) and they told us it's a scam, just ignore them.

The caller from this number claimed to be IRS, spoke with an Indian accent and left a message to call back to speak to an agent named "Jason O'Connor"

202-241-1818 pretending to be an IRS agent "Cooper" and in a very threatening manner informing me that a law suit has been filed against me by IRS.  He has a very thick Indian accent and continued to leave messages on my answering machine at home requesting my attorney's name.

I received a call from 202-241-1818 claiming to be IRS, it went to my voicemail. I amnot calling it back.  He had a thick accent and said I would face legal consequences if I don't call back.

What a scam I suggest you keep calling them and asking them for money tie up their lines and be a nuisance to them

I work at the Police department.  they told me that I was not an officer (actually I am, but not a sworn PD officer)..He kept telling me to shut up and listen to him and tried to tell me that he was going to arrest me.  I told him THIS WAS A SCAM AND TO STOP CALLING THIS NUMBER OR I WILL HAVE THEM INVESTIGATED.  I HUNG UP AND SO FAR, NO CALL BACKS.  this 202-241-1818 is the number they are using and they think that they are going to bilk money out of us...I DON'T THINK SO.

Got a call on my voicemail (I never answer numbers that I don't recognize) that said he was a Mr. Cooper with the IRS and I needed to respond immediately or have my attorney respond immediately or they will arrest me.  Um, hey dimwit, I WORK FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT...I AM SURE THEY WOULD LOVE TO CHAT.  too funny!
