Ps: most of these bill collectors are bullies and must feel they are so big and powerful which in actuality they have none so they pretend on the job.. I'd think too personally they must be very insecure bitter and miserable people themselves

I've had one wonderful bill collector in my life!:)) Mrs. Butterbottom  and she was lovely and professional and guess what ? We made a plan they got paid and all for mrs buttebottom  !!!

And yes I have major medical debt unfortunately and many health issues... Of course I'd pay them all off if I had the money immediately !!! Absolutely and I just hang up now if I get a nasty bill collector ( I don't get them often but 2 of them call at all hours they are tricky people and I don't care anymore
Just hang up on them and also call the company and ask for a professional collector I've done that and it all works out once you get a good rep on the line !! Good luck hope that things are getting better for you!!

The guy sounds like a troll for the collection agencies, probably the one with this number. The person is a heartless jerk.

They will post that you should pay your bills. Or, you're a deadbeat for not paying. That's what collection agency trolls do. They have no compassion for people having hard times.

I've just gotten a call from this number. No message left. I haven't had a debt since 1994 when I cut up my credit cards, and paid all my bills. I still get collection agency bills for bills I never incurred and don't owe.

I've blocked the number.

You have every right under the fdcpa to tell them to stop calling .then send them a written letter stating same.then they may call you once more .usually they will just sell your debt to another agency, then it starts all over again

The caller id shows a company called IC SYSTEMS. googling them, they are a collection agency. scary thing about collection agencies, is that you just don't know if they are legit. Oh sure, i'll give you a credit card over the phone. Oh yeah, pay a total stranger who makes a living off scaming people.

This number has called me once, but I didn't answer. My friends have gotten calls from numbers in Washington D.C. too, and all when I was with them and all within a few days of each other. Whenever we try to call back, no one answers and there is no voicemail. If you search hard enough for numbers that start with 202367, you get the IMPORTANT building in D.C. It's scary, and it's not a coincidence that we all got numbers alike . . .

they have been calling me my insurance at the time covered my bills.  Now im getting Pakistanis calling me. Saying there is a warrant for my arrest in NY  Where news flash Ive never been they start calling at 8 am to 5 pm 25 times sometimes more a day. then saying I have to pay them 5,000.00 to stay out of jail. they refuse any info refuse to let me talk to a supervisor. and they proceed to call me and verbally abuse me. they mimic numbers like this one came up they even mimicked my work number even my moms house number. I couldnt seem to get anywhere I block one number they find another to call me from. I had to change my phone number. now im going to have to change it again. I had lost my job cause they called there. This is stressful and confusing at the same time.  they told me they were sending the police at my door I said please do. no one came no one busted down my door to smash my head in like they said would happen to me.

That is not true, a collector calling daily or more than daily is a harassment and is illegal. Once you have talked to them and asked them not to call back for a while they should know that it is against harassment laws to continue calling you on a daily or more than daily basis. They can call you but not in a harassing manner. Look up the laws for harassment by collectors in your state and let the collector know you know them and if they continue to harass you, they just may end up paying that bill themselves.

Suggest to everyone who is getting calls:  get YouMail. Then you can assign any number these creeps call on to a certain voice mail setting -- like one telling them their call has been outsourced to India... or better yet, to deposit 25 cents to continue the call. And you wont even hear your phone ring. Problem solved.

Spoken like a diaper-wearing bill collector who doesn't know the law... like THAT's a real shocker (huge eyeroll). Newsflash:  NO... they DON'T have every right to call. Read your FDCPA. If you inform them to stop calling -- by LAW -- they must stop calling. And YES you can decide how much you will or won't pay them - especially if you file for bankruptcy... or if you live in Florida  :)  This is not communist Cuba yet... so take your Gestapo tactics and go get stuffed. And I mean that in the NICEST possible way imaginable...

And what the hospitals don't tell you is that there is financial aide available and that they have several way's of doing that as well.  You have to call the billing office and request those papers.  Some hospitals have charity care programs as well if you have no insurance.. those can be renewed every 3-6 mo's, or even run as long as a year at a time depending on circumstances.

But like any bill collector, they still have to abide by the laws..  You have the responsibility of writing them and delivering a cease and desist to stop calling via certified US mail.  That they may only contact you via the mail.  If they do not abide by that then they break the law and thus can be sued.  You can get the letters online for free BTW, so all you have to do is fill it out and mail it.  You also need to keep records of the calls, any messages on the answering machine and record any calls from them once you do the cease and desist. Some state require you also inform them they are being recorded. You can check that online for your state.

To owe someone there must be an exchange of goods or services. The debt collector does not provide you with either. The agreement is between the collector and the Hospital and it ends there.

You should take a course in remedial law. Any agreement is between the Hospital and the collector, not you. Hospitals screw people to death! Have you ever read any of their bills? I took my wife to emergency where she had one EKG, but was billed for three. So according to you I should just shut up and pay the bill?
Really? The Insurance Companies decide what they will and will not pay, so if your insurance pays 80% and you pay 20% and your insurance company refuses to pay and gives themselves a 25% discount do you think the Hospital is going to give you the patient a 25% discount on your 20%? Not a chance, you have to pay the entire 20%.
The Insurance Companies can protect themselves from the Hospitals corruption, but the patient can't?
What is it with people like you, you think the people should just shut up and pay anything and anybody that makes a demand.

Really? Ever hear of a little thing called the law? You might try reading it some time. If a Company is in breech of Contract you don't owe them any thing. If a person is so stupid as to buy bad debts why should anyone feel sorry for them?

I had some Credit cards, and the Companies kept harrassing me to buy Insurance, and eventually I broke down and bought it. Two years later I had a massive heart attack, and when I notified the Companies only one honored thier agreements and paid off the balance. The others refused to confirm I had the insurance even though I had letters from them thanking me for taking out the Insurance, and even though I had receipts proving I made the insurance payments.

I don't owe them anything, and I certainly do not owe anything to a collector who was stupid enough to buy a bad debt. To hell with these people.
