No matter how many times I tell these people I don't carry a credit card balance, they keep calling. I have received calls from at least ten different numbers, all calling themselves Card Services. When I ask them why they are calling me when I am on the National Do Not Call list, they hang up. I sent a complaint to the NDNC list but that hasn't stopped the calls. I got a call at 3:36 a.m. (yes, a.m.) from them using the number 877-298-8855.

What happened to being on a "no-call list" but we're all still getting unwanted calls on our phones?

Robocall. "This is your second and final notice. Press '1' to lower your credit card interest rates." Enough is enough. Reported to FTC.

This is almost certainly a phishing scheme designed to steal credit card information. The call is worded to make you think it is your own credit card company calling, but it is not.

service msg 202 367 9968 <<this is your final notice, relating to financial stimulus, press 1>> if you do nothing the line disconnects. I could not call this number, always a busy signal.

Cyberchip.... don't do us any favors. First of all... do you realize you are COMPLAINING about people who complain, don't you? You're part of the problem. Secondly, that's what this site is for... complaining about random calls from companies and people that we don't want to call us. Now, move along. We don't need your "help" here.

Let's all try this, press 1 to speak to a rep. Keep the rep on the phone as long as possible. Tie up their phondes and waste their time, time is money in any business, if the rep is not producing income from refis then the company loses money. Stall, bulls**t them, give them incorrect information, whatever, just keep them on the line as long as possible. If they want to mess with us, then it's time we started to mess with them in return.

Reduce your interest rate

Ferd, the fact that you are in this forum complaining about other people complaining is the height of irony.
Most in here have already reported the number to DoNotCall.gov. They are simply exchanging information in an attempt to find ways to preserve what little privacy we have left.
If you think everyone in here is wasting their time, then why are you wasting your time in here?
Joe Frank 2011-08-16 21:13:06 Unknown
Yeah, that will make them stop for sure.
If that does not work, throw your phone in the garbage. That is equally effective.
Congress needs to put a stop to this, as the Do Not Call registry is proving useless anymore.

Hey, Cyberchip, why don't you go clean up the mess at Credit Card Services - phone no. 202-367-9968 - since you are so intent on making the world a better place.
You must be an employee of the aforementioned SCAM COMPANY, otherwise you would not be defending their illegal behaviors. First, this is NOT and non-profit company. Second, even if they were a non-profit they cannot go around harassing people with recorded messages and continuous calls at all hours.
So go ahead, follow them around and clean up their mess...
Kelly 2011-08-16 19:59:30 Unknown
No idea who this was, missed the call, but glad I checked here. Sounds like a scam artist.
Sick of these calls 2011-08-15 16:29:20 Unknown
Started leaving a message about lowering your credit card interest, so I picked up and pressed 1. The guy came on and said would you like to lower the interest rate on your credit card. I said which card are you talking about and he said, "any card you have with a balance of $4,000.00 or more". I said I don't have one and would you remove ............ that's all I got out when he hung up on me. They can't be legitimate and treat people like that. I'm going to see if I can report it to my state attorney general.

August 12, 2011. 8:48am. ?Credit Card Services? 202-367-9968. ?This is your last chance to lower the interest rate on your credit cards?. I pressed ?1? to talk to someone, who would not give me their phone number. I got it from *69, phoned back, and pressed ?1? to not receive any more calls from them. I reported them to donotcall.gov.

Got a call from 202-367-9968 left me a message saying to take advantage of the stimulus before its to late SCAM!!!!.
grannymom 2011-08-10 19:16:22 Unknown
Blah,Blah, about the urgency of getting in contact with "you"...blah, blah....stupid people..never give up at trying to obtain a "sucker"
disgusted 2011-08-09 17:59:23 Unknown
Left voicemail message saying final notice and something about stimulus and to press 1. Caller id said from card services. Deleted message. Reporting these calls to FCC brings NO action. What is the purpose of the do not call list when it can't or won't be enforced?
Jesse 2011-08-09 17:15:55 Unknown
A lot of good advice...some not so good. My solution is that I only answer the phone if my caller ID indicates that I know the caller. Otherwise, I let the answering machine take the call. In most cases they hang up but in some they do leave a message, which I never play back or listen to. I delete them. My phone is for my benefit and for emergency use only. For family members we use the cell phone. I would dump the landline, but I need it for my DSL internet connection. I could switch to Satellite, but they are too unreliable in rainy weather.

I've received calls from 202-367-9968 concerning my credit card and this was my second and final notice!!!! I do not have a credit card!!!! I called back and was very nice, as I understand the call representative is only trying to make a living. I was hung up on without being taken off their list or put on NO CALL. I live on a fixed income which included fixed calling times. This is very very frustrating.
No only is my privacy invaded but when I call back I'm hung up on. Please what can I do? I'm on the national no call list as well as the no call list from my phone providers. When will these callers become responsible (monetarily would be nice)? Seems greed and money is the only motivation these days.
Thank You
