Received same call yesterday, sounds quasi-official until he his questioned.  Total scam.

I got the same call today, here are a couple of other numbers they are using. 509-776-0679 and 800-892-3176. Don't fall for it.

This guy called me today and with a new number of 202-241-5691. He told me that I was getting a warrent out for arrest due to purchasing medication from the Dominican Republic. He was very convincing but thank god for this website because I looked up the number and address he gave me. The address is the same but he changed his number. He said his name was special agent William wright from the USDA. Thank you everyone that left a message like this because you saved me from this scam.

I got a call like this today and also a few years ago. I tried wasting his time, acting scared and told him, I did this twice... Can I pat two fine? Even though that is not true. What looses but it's sad that people pay it and these idiots get away with it. Obviously, they would not keep calling if it didn't work. It would be so nice for them to have someone show up at their house and arrest them... Just as they threaten. Yes, I know I shouldn't waste my time but I couldn't resist.

This man called me today 2-7-2013, and said that he had some imformation on me. Said that the police was comming to arrest me if i did not send $950.00 by Western Union to the address of 1600 Fort Washington Ave. Santo, Domingo Dominican Republic. The name i was souppouse to send it to was Julio Santana. Pease helpl me stop this if it is not stoped in the next 24hur i will have my attorney to fail charges on the people who is involed in this Scam. Thank You

william wright uses other aliases and phone numbers -- the DEA will never contact you by phone, so if you get called by this crook and his cronies ignore them.  If the Feds want you, they don't call ahead.

yep this jerk calls, william wright and several other alias, every couple of months with the same message.  The sad thing is people send him money, which is why he is still in business.  i'm trying to get a trace on him....i'm recording all his calls and threats for prosecution.  Anyway, don't send this jerk money, that's what he wants and he is guilty of several felonies and possible manslaughter charges as several people have committed suicide because of his threats.

This jacka@@ called a couple of days ago...yawn....i ignore them.....same guy william wright...this must be lucrative because this a***ole has been doing this for years...shame they haven't gotten him yet.  I've hung up on him and he called back calling me bad names for treating a government official (by the way he is a felon) that way...i suggest you ignore him or change your phone number...but don't send him or the jerks like him any money.

I got a call from this phone number on Wednesday January 30,2013 around 4pm. He identified himself as special agent wright with the DEA from Washington DC. He indidcated that he needed to speak with me immdiatly as I was facing charges for purchasing illegal medication online. I know I had done no such thing and did an internet search for his number. I discovered that he is impersonating an officer and have contacted many people in this manner.

Yeah this number called me on Wed.and left me a message saying I needed to call him back immediatly as I was facing charges for the drugs I had purchased online. I disregarded the message as I have never done such a thing. The only reason I didnt answer the phone when he called was because I was busy volunteering at a local mission teaching martial arts to underpriveledged children.

I dont understand why they cant catch him. Who would we report the call to? I already deleted his message though

I just received a call from Agent William Wright from the DEA stating they had a warrant for my arrest.  He had an old address and mentioned an old credit card number that has expired. He is very aggressive.  I hung up on him and he called back and left a voicemail.  I reported this to the US DEA Scam Dept at 1-877-792-2873.

A guy lefy a message said he was special agent and to call him back....Which I did not!!!  I got this same call a couple months ago! Scam!!!

William Wright posing as a DEA officer threatening bench warrant for illegal drug purchase from overseas.  The number he called from for the 4th time over the past 18 months was 202 506-8106.  This is a hoax and should be ignored.  William Wright is sooo Wrong!

William Wright is all Wrong!  So many complaints on this Posting and he is still at it.  We got our 4th call today and told them that our lawyer would be in contact with them - they don't back off and keep up the charade.  I am not too sure how reporting the calls to the DEA or FBI help since we have been getting these calls off and on for the last 18 months or so - just be smart and don't fall for the scam.  Thanks to all who posted comments to confirm our suspicions

ALL - If you receive this call, please call your local FBI or DEA office.  This is a scam and you should not be subject to his extortion attempts.  I called the number back 202-506-8106 and he plays the part well until I told him I was law enforcement and was in the process of reporting him to the local DEA office. Again, DON'T FALL VICTIM TO THIS EXTORTION ATTEMPT.  Have a great day.

Thank you so much to all of you have posted this info. William Wright called our home today and left a message. As I was sitting with my 7 year old grandson listening to the message I about fell apart. It scared me. I had no idea what he was talking about and feared what difficulty was ahead of us. I was a mess all night. When my husband got home he said he had no idea what the call was about. It was at that point I decided to listen to my inner voice that had been whispering to me "scam". Got a call from 202.506.8106 from a guy posing as a DEA agent. said I bought medicine illegally on the net....I never have...and new it was a fake . My number is new. the only thing I answered was a craigslist ad about auto wrap advertising....which I found out was a scam....seems these guys get you every direction.....

I have just received a message from Agent Williams and I have already received several other calls from scam phone numbers.  Seriously this is getting old

Happened first time over a year ago...very "serious" sounding with him saying Agents were on the way to my office to arrest me for illegal drugs being sent from overseas. Became pretty clear this was a scam when he asked for a cashiers check sent to him. I asked him what address the "Agents" were going to and he hung up.
Just this morning received a DC-based call from William Wright quoting his badge number and - again - DEA agent status and questioning illegal shipments from 2008 and 2009 and how serious this charge was.  Once I started to confirm  his badge # and DEA office location, his superior's badge number and phone and a file #...he ... suprise, suprise...hung up!

The Drug Enforcement Administration is warning the public about criminals posing as DEA special agents or other law enforcement personnel as part of an international extortion scheme.

The criminals call the victims (who in most cases previously purchased drugs over the lnternet or by telephone) and identify themselves as DEA agents or law enforcement officials from other agencies.  The impersonators inform their victims that purchasing drugs over the lnternet or by telephone is illegal, and that enforcement action will be taken against them unless they pay a fine.  In most cases, the impersonators instruct their victims to pay the "fine" via wire transfer to a designated location, usually overseas.  If victims refuse to send money, the impersonators often threaten to arrest them or search their property.  Some victims who purchased their drugs using a credit card also reported fraudulent use of their credit cards.

Impersonating a federal agent is a violation of federal law.  The public should be aware that no DEA agent will ever contact members of the public by telephone to demand money or any other form of payment.

The DEA reminds the public to use caution when purchasing controlled substance pharmaceuticals by telephone or through the Internet.  It is illegal to purchase controlled substance pharmaceuticals online or by telephone unless very stringent requirements are met.  And, all pharmacies that dispense controlled substance pharmaceuticals by means of the lnternet must be registered with DEA.  By ordering any pharmaceutical medications online or by telephone from unknown entities, members of the public risk receiving unsafe, counterfeit, and/or ineffective drugs from criminals who operate outside the law.  In addition, personal and financial information could be compromised.

Anyone receiving a telephone call from a person purporting to be a DEA special agent or other law enforcement official seeking money should refuse the demand and report the threat.

I got a call today from a guy claiming to be William Wright, a Special Agent from the DEA. He stated he had warrant for my arrest for internet drugs I purchased. This guy is a scammer , don't fall for this!

would I really need to cancel all my credit cards if I didn't give him any of the numbers.

this person called me and was impersonating an agent and said I am facing federal charges. I hope he gets caught soon. Why can't the police track this person with his phone number. He's been using the same one for quite a while now.

I just got a call from this huy today. When they catch this guy, I'm going to sue him for all he's worth which is 0 but still.

just recieved ANOTHER call from this Wm.Wright it doesn't matter how many times it happens I guess it's because it's far enough apart it FREAKs me out and I am a law abiding citizen who got Sensa via mail and now feel like a criminal.If this same guy can make all these calls from the same # same name why can't they arrest him? 60 Min. did a report about this scam people are actually commiting suicide over this, what a sin! I did not know this site was out here just think of innocent people who don't know about this site or have assess to a computer!!
