Who is the owner?

I got the same call but from a 732 area code in Keyport, NJ. It is a scam. They want you to give $250 before you can even get the money from "their bank account".

I wouldn't go for it-sounds like an advance-fee scam to me. The scammer lies to you about the grant so he can fool you into sending him your money and personal details, then once ne has them he disappears and cuts off all communication with you. All you get out of this is a stolen identity and an empty bank account.
Some people take years to recover a stolen identity-don't let this happen to you. I would avoid this one like the plague.

I got the same phone call and I got the same result. I do not know this is the number for the government grants or not. I called them back and the number was not right.

A person named Allan claims to be with gov grant Dept and the reason I'm Calling you is to inform you  that your name, number had been approved  to received a free government grant of 50,000 dollars. Directly from the federal government of USA. And the best part is you don't have to pay the money back etc.......Then if you are interested in receiving your free government grant call the customer service number 202-640-1244, again that is 202-640-1244 He even thank me for my time.
