I got a call from them a few days ago. They knew my full government name abd asked if it was me. When i said yes i heard a beep as if i was being recorded and they hung up

I called back .The number is no longer in service.

If they are not trying to sell you anything, they are not violating the Do Not Call law.  They may be violating other laws depending on the nature of the call but to be a Do Not Call violation they have to try and sell you goods or services.

I keep getting calls from this number. I saw it said "District of Columbia" or something like and we had tried to contact a state representative so I figured I had missed a legitimately important call. I finally answer it the other day and the lady with the heavy accent said "Hi. Can I speak with Robert?" (There are two Roberts in my house) I ask "Which one?" and I immediately hear the disconnect sound on the line. This reeks of fraud, especially when I called them back several times and got the busy tone or the message saying the number is not in service.

put the're 3 in your phone book and name it: don't answer. then just hit the ignor on your phone when they call.

STOP CALLING ME!  I AM ON THE NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST!  YOU SHOULD BE FINED!

Just got off the phone with these moron's who claim to be working for the US Treasury Dept.  All the while I was telling him to remove me from their call list and that if they didn't stop...he sat there going: "umm, yeah, unhuh".  real professional there.

received a call from this number stating that I received a USA grant and the person spoke with an accent and suddenly hang up when I was requesting more information

I just called the FBI to report this # and he stated to call the FCC at 888-225-5322.  If we can get everyone to call and report this then maybe we can get them arrested and stopped.  There are people out there who will give them their banking info and we can not have that.  When I tried to ask the girl several questions all she would do is keep repeating that she wanted my banking info. When I asked her for a phone # to call her back she hung up.  Do not fall for this SCAM!

These people are running scams from "out of country" or "over seas" using caller ID masking programs, NONE of these calls come from within the United States as it is HIGHLY Illegal for any company to use the tactics they use. Unfortunately the only thing you can do is report them to the FCC & they will attempt to fine them $10,000 USD & up to 5 years in jail for each offense, however as soon as the charges are filed these guys close shop & move across the street. They threatened to "f*** my kids & kill my wife". Give their # to anyone with 30 seconds to waste & have them call & harass them with blocked #s. If we get thousands of Americans to fight fire with fire & call constantly throughout the business day, they will NOT be able to make outgoing calls. Give their # to any sales offices you know & anybody whos willing to call.

I also was getting calls from another number with a guy with a heavy eastern accent telling me if I don't pay him for the pay day loan that he is authorized to have the sheriff come to my house and work to pick me up. He repeated my social security number and all my private info to me. How do these people get this info? And I don't even have any pay day loans nor did I ever. After a week of calls all day long I finally told him I was on to him thanks to this site and that I was notifying my district attorney and my lawyer and the calls stopped until today from this number and by reading the post from others it sounds as if it is the same people. Don't fall for it, if u were really entitled to a grant from the government then you would never have to pay anything for fees or paperwork.

I received a call from this number stating that I was chosen to receive an $8400 grant, tax free. they needed my debit card info to do the transaction. I was stupid and fell for it. I ended up sending $512 and haven't gotten any money. this is a real scam. it needs to be investigated and all parties that sent money should be rewarded with their money back..

Someone called me from district of columbia with phone number 202 666 1040 and he said from us grant department, . He told me that i am choosen to receive $ 8.400 and they going to send me trough bank transfer within 45 minute and ask for my bank acc. It sound good to be truei. got this call from scamer. One thing I don`t understand is how this scamer got my not umber and informations

if you gave them your credit card go to Lifelock and join.  I got scammed and they saved me.  I just got a call from this number for the 10th time.  Sounded like a scam to me.  Offered me $8400.

Ive been getting calls from this number the past week.

This number keeps calling one of my cells. Offers grant money etc. Will not stop calling. Call back number and it is no longer in service. Last time they called daughter gave phone to me and they hung up

I would start out with telling them to put your number on their Do Not Call list, every company who makes solicitation phone calls MUST have one. After that, it's just up to you. Tell them anything you wish. It's a scam so they're not going to report you to the authorities, never mind what you say.

To tell the truth, I've gotten several calls about a government grant, but not from this phone number, and I've always told whoever was on the other end of the line to not call me again because I'm not an idiot. One need apply for a grant. But anyway, this particular number has called me thrice today; every time I've answered, they've just hung up on me. I've tried calling back, but I only get the busy signal. I hate scams, I hate people who run them, and I hate being treated as if I don't know any better. These people need to be stopped!

I received a call from this number today informing me that I was approved for a US Grant.  I told them that I never applied for a grant, and the woman (who had a seriously thick Indian accent) tried to keep me on the line to get info from me.  I told her never to call again

Heavy accent, male, used multiple profanity and threats continuously. Threatened me, my wife my mother, threatened to hunt me down and kill us all. This went on for several minutes as he got more intense and agitated. He finally hung up. The number was listed to a caller ID that said, "Dist of Columbia".

THE SAME THING JUST HAPPENED TO ME!! They called i answered even though it said unknown then immediately i said you need to stop calling this number he said okay. Few minutes later he called back and said yeah f*** you and hung up. What a piece of crap....

Got a call from this number..sounds extremely fishy..I asked why my grant for $8400 couldn't be mailed as a check..the guy said it was because the sum of money was too large...what?

This number has called me twice in about 20 minutes apart.  Both times, I did not answer and they did not leave a voice mail message.  I've had this number for about 3 weeks so, I KNOW they aren't calling for me!  One thing to do to them when they call is....hold the phone away from your face, like your trying to muffle the call and say, "Okay.  It's them officer, trace the call."  Several years ago, I had a bad caller and did that (only I had a REAL police officer standing right in front of me when I did it).  The guy hung up and never called me again!!  If I can get them to answer me, that's what I'm gonna do!

i keep recieving theses calls same calls different numbers they call bakc when you ask them to take you off there lst they just get diposable cell phones and try it again thinking that if they call so many times ull finally give in and their get the info they want so they can drain you dry and f*** uo your credit, thats messsed up. you can eve nget online and apply for anythng without people calling and taking stuffthat you dont really have just to be doing something/............o yea justice for trayvon martin you will be missed.

Yeah seriously, I told the lady honestly I can't even understand you because your accent is so heavy. It took so long to figure out what it even was all about.
