When caller ID shows anything but a number or person I know, I pick up and immediately hang up.  If I am busy I just let the answering machine handle it.  It says, "We screen all calls. You may leave a message."  They never leave a message - so, it is basically a non-problem. :)

It's not the Democrats because when I got the call today they played a recording calling President Obama, "Barack Hussain Obama" and a Democrat would never spit out such venom even as a joke.

I answered, no voice at other end. They hung up.

Stop the harrassing phone calls

Called office and hung up.  

Republican National Committee has been calling my home for the past two years non stop.  I never answer and I won't vote Republican because of this harassment.  Pretty soon I might just end up never voting again.  I work and lived government since birth and I don't need anyone 'telling' me how to vote.

This number is just like the current political administration, reminding me of a new gun my Husband recently abtained it dosen't work and you can't fire it.

RNC is a spoofed thing.
Phone rings usually 2-3x then nothing if I don't answer. At least 1-2 other occasions there was only silence at the other end. Have called at least 5 times since end of December at various times of the day.
They never leave message just hang up.  I am not a registered Republican and have no affiliations with them or any other party for that matter. They can stop wasting taxpayer money by not calling because I'm not going to answer.

I've received countless calls from this number the last week.  Twice I've answered and no one responds.  Go away.

It's Saturday morning and we just got another phone call. They've called every day since the 25th. I just added them to the blocking list. Nobody's there, and we just get a hangup singnal. I just called them and their message says that they are the College Republicans. IIRC, they called a few weeks ago asking for my wife. I told them that she isn't registered to vote because she isn't even an American citizen. (That may not stop Democrats from registering her, but on our principles we won't do that.) I left a scathing message on their answering machine. What kind of political strategy entails irritating your voting base? No wonder the Dummycraps have taken over.

I get many calls from this number as well, it is the national republican committee. I used to donate until they became harassing , then I said don't bother me any more and they call looking for my husband, when I answer they hang up.

We receive frequent calls from this number asking for my mother in-law who passed away in 2006.  Since they won't stop calling, we set up an advance call forward with our VIOP to automatically forward any calls from this number back to this number.  Take that you inconsiderate basterds!

We get multiple calls from this number everyday. They always hang up. This time I answered and told them NOT to call here again and then I had the pleasure of hanging up on them! Let's see what happens now.

I've been getting calls on a regular basis.  What can I do?

It IS the College Republicans. If you have to wait until there is someone on the line. It's a robot call. It's usually about 3-5 seconds before a live body comes on the line.   They are calling your number because you or someone in your household has previously given to the College Republicans. When you get a live body on the line, tell them to remove your number from their call list. IF you get another call after that, call the Republican National Committee in D.C. and ask for the Finance Division and let them know that the calls damn well better stop, period. When I had a man on the line this morning, he repeated my number back to me and said it would be removed from their data base.  

No taxpayer money is involved. It's all from contractors for the RNC.  The same type of calls come from the DNC, MoveOn.org, and other leftists, socialists, etc.

As for the "do not call list".....political organizations are exempt. Does anyone think that the democrats AND republicans would cut their own throat by stopping telephone mining for money?  Not going to happen.

Calls either berfore 8 in the morning or after 10 in the evening.  We let it go to answering machine and they/it hangs up.

Speaking of stupid - it takes some grand leap of stupidity to assume that an organization as large as the RNC would call and hang up.  Are you a registered Republican?  If not, then why would the RNC even be calling you?

I believe, with the ability to use technology to randomly display a number on caller ID that is not actually associated with the dialer, that this call is merely an attempt to anger people about the RNC (not that these people need any other excuse to be angry with the GOP).

(202) 747-7340 is a number used by the Republican National commitee, if you want them to remove you from their auto-dial call the number back it will prompt you to remove your number, give them up to 30 days to do so normally a week and they will have it removed

Stop calling.  Your calls are irksome.  We think of them as prank calls.  You have no reason to call except to make our phones ring and laugh to consider people are making a dash for the phone.  When one of us gets there in time to answer before the disconnect, you are not  there.  You never do come online either.

Therefore, one wonders if you are calling to see if 'the coast is clear'.  You are probably calling to figure out a schedule when the homeowners may be home so you will not try to break and enter at the time of day when the phone is answered.

That would be foolish though.  Many of us have protection against intrusion of unwanted visitors in our homes though we can't seem to block you from the phone calls.  Buzz off Bozo!  Now that you have been a nuisance caller, there is nothing you could peddle that I would buy from you.  You have no credibility.

I took the advice of someone on this list and called them back, got a message it was Republican College.  (Whatever that is.)  Said sorry nobody could answer my call but they would call me back tomorrow.   A pause.  Then a message if I wanted them to stop calling, press '1'.  Then put my 9 digit number in, followed by  a message that by federal law they have 30 days!!  30 days to continue harrassment!  Good grief.  But they would try to stop sooner.
