These kind of people should get arrested soon . Many innocent people will become victim to these culprits

Minnesota: My husband and I just got a call from 800-829-1040; and it was an automated message from the "IRS" asking us to call back 202-754-8638. When we called the 202 number back, a man with a South Asian (Indian) accent told us that we just have to hear him out and we have 45 minutes to decide what to do - to get locked up/arrested or pay the penalty. They then went on to tell us that we were money laundering - didn't give us ANY details whatsoever and said once we pay the penalty, they'll be able to give us the details of why we're being charged. They looked up our info supposedly by putting us on hold and said our record was clean and that the IRS can give us an OIC (compromise) deal where we pay ~$5k to them. They then told us to drive to a bond center (Walgreen Address near our house) and to stay on the phone on hold until we create the bond. And then they said that the investigating officer from Hennepin County (Minnesota) will call us. And if we didn't do this, they'll have the police sheriff come and arrest us. We asked them to connect us to the sheriff and then we got a call from 763-391-5100 (showed up on our caller ID with no name). This person acting like Sheriff Stanek from Hennepin County told us to turn ourselves in and show up at given address or he will come to our house to arrest us if we don't comply and get the bond made. He also gave us his supposed badge number when we asked him. All in all, we heard a South Asian accent, a British accent and the sheriff had sort of a West Indian/African type accent. Turns out, of course, Sheriff Stanek speaks fluent English with no accent. We've reported this call to our local police department and if anyone else has had this scam call, report it immediately!

This is s scam, The guy called himself kevin told that criminal record will be filed and asked paypal money of $10000. I complained this to Lexington Police

I also received a call from this number. It's a scam don't give any info. IRS always uses snail mail.

I got a call from 202-754-8635 leaving a message from Chris Rogers from IRS . He had a foreign accent and said this message is for "YOU" (no name mentioned) claimed that IRS is filing law suit against me and if I don't call immediately the consequences will be on me. I work for Feds and this is not how we contact people. By all evidence this is a scam (Phone phishing) to get social security number for identity theft. Do not call back.

I got a call from 800-829-1040 and left me voicemail to call me back to following number 202-754-8639 immediately before taking any legal action on Social Security Number. I got this call around 10:50 AM today morning, When I call to above mentioned number, some one answered and asked my name and mentioned that it is after office hours and asked me give a call tomorrow morning.

I just received a voice message stating it was the "irs" requesting me to call this phone number.  When I called, a person directly answered the phone with a foreign accent.  This was strange since the irs should not have a direct line to an operator.  The person was searching for my brother so I got lucky in not providing any personal information.

They asked for my social. when i redialed their number later, I was sent to a voicemail. That type of info doesn't get asked for over the phone. It's all over snail mail. Has anyone else received a call from this number?
